As a Leadership & Mindset Coach, I’ve had the opportunity to do an in-depth study of what makes some people supremely confident while many others crumble under pressure situations.

If you are someone who wants to show up as a confident individual at your workplace, at social gatherings, at presentations, or even within your family, I have good news for you. Confidence is a skill that can be learned and trained. That means even if you don’t have confidence naturally and regardless of what you have been through in your past, your age, gender, and cultural background, studying and implementing these 5 factors can transform you into the most confident version of yourself.

Factor No 1. They are able to get to the ‘ROOT CAUSE’ of their problems quickly & overcome them FAST!

If you want to become more confident, you need to be aware of what is the real problem or challenge you are dealing with in different areas of your life. Once you figure that out, you can take small steps to overcome that.

People who are very confident knowing that they don’t need to know everything and that it is ok to ask for help. They are not constantly trying to figure everything out on their own but they look for people who have already solved and overcome the challenges they are facing. The question they ask is not, How can I do this? Whereas it is, Who already has figured this out?

Once you have clarity on how to approach the situation you are in you will be able to achieve the desired outcome and that automatically improves your confidence.

Factor No.2 They have built their life around their strengths and know-how to leverage them

Quite often, people try so hard to overcome their weaknesses and don’t spend enough time improving their strengths. When you attempt to do something over and over again only to fail at it repeatedly, what does that do to you? Obviously, it erodes your confidence.

Figure out how to be in a profession where you can leverage your strengths or if you are an entrepreneur, spend most of your time implementing and nurturing your strengths. Also, build a network of people to whom you can delegate the work which comes under your weaknesses. The same strategy can also be used in your personal life situations as well.

Factor No.3 Every time they have a new challenge or unexpected situation, they are able to break through quickly and get to the other side!

Think about this. What makes the difference between two people who are faced with the exact same challenge where one comes out on top but the other person fails? It is about their emotional conditioning. Confident people also have their own set of problems but they have programmed themselves to find ways to break through and win.

Every time you overcome a challenge and get to the other side, your confidence grows, you start trusting yourself more and along with that your self-image and self-esteem improve. This becomes an upward spiral and you start to feel better about yourself eventually.

Factor No.4 They have learned to not give a damn about others’ opinions because they are 100% focused on what matters to them most!

Let’s face the truth. It is impossible to make everyone in your life happy and get their approval all the time. It is dangerous to do and say things to please others at the cost of sacrificing your own needs.

Highly confident people know their self-worth is not tied to others' opinions about them and they usually have a close group of people friends, certain family members, and colleagues who support and encourage them. They turn to these people when they need help or advice and are ok with offending a few people as long as they are not harming anyone with their deeds.

If you are someone who thinks too much about what others will think, get these straight. People will always have something to talk about even if you try to perfect it. So, why bother so much? Focus on the people, activities, and goals that matter to you, and bring out the champion inside you to achieve them!

Factor No.5 They are quite inspiring and wherever they go, the world around them smiles more, they are able to empower people and inspire positive change.

When you help someone and make a difference in their life with your knowledge, experience, or sometimes even a genuine smile, you have inspired them. And when you are able to positively affect another person’s life that automatically improves your confidence.

No matter what you are going through in your life right now, find ways to help others in whatever way you can and add value to their lives. The same quality can set you apart from others in your career or business.
