…And 12 commitments for making 2022 a turning point in your life, defeat the virus of fear with the remedy of trust, be part of a new “pandemic” of happiness and solidarity and write a new chapter in the story of humanity.

Once in a while, we are presented with a golden opportunity. A rare chance that might not come again very soon.

I believe that the recent crisis can be a defining moment for humanity. I believe that we are given a precious opportunity to start afresh, with new impetus, and to redefine our priority.

The global pandemic has forced all of us to stop and take notice.

It has brought into sharp focus our relationship with life and with death.

It has made us more aware of our resilience and of our vulnerability.

It reminded us that we are not in control of everything, that our actions have consequences and that, despite huge advances in scientific research and technology, our deep interconnection with nature obliges us to respect it and work with it, not against it.

Dealing with the pandemic has also highlighted some truths that might have gone out of fashion in recent years: yes, kindness and solidarity do really make a huge difference; and yes, we are all in this together…

Yet I believe that the most positive consequence of the recent crisis could be a profound and lasting change in perspective.

We now have a precious opportunity to shift our focus from the superfluous to the meaningful, from the incidental to the universal, from the ephemeral to the everlasting.

It is time we took care of our mind and soul.

It is time we decided to be happy.

As the 2022 New Year begins, join me in deciding to refocus on the essential, to discard what is irrelevant and obsolete, to start afresh, to listen to your inner voice, to finally invest your time and your energy in what is truly important to you.

We have been reminded that there are things we cannot control. Let us remind ourselves that our life is our responsibility and that only we can decide how we want our life to be.

Yes, we can choose to be happy. We can choose to focus on what brings us joy. We can choose to be more loving and more patient with ourselves and others. We can choose to replace fear with trust. We can choose to look at our life, at our gifts, at our contribution to society, at our individual and common journey, differently.

And right now, we have the chance to change course, to take our power back.

It might be the best chance we will ever get.

Let us decide to seize this opportunity.

Let us decide to honour our potential.

Let us decide to give ourselves the love and respect we deserve.

Let us make happiness our number one priority.

It does not cost anything to do so.

Yet this decision could prove to be lifesaving.

The pandemic has taught us that life is precious. In the light of our recent experience, prioritizing outward success over self-love or recognition over inner joy suddenly seems rather foolish and hollow. When we realise how fragile we are, we stop postponing happiness for an elusive tomorrow.

Let us make a commitment at the beginning of this new year to live life to the fullest. To follow our dreams and do everything in our power to achieve them. To be true to who we know we can be.

Let us replace those half-hearted, copy pasted, new year resolutions we used to make, with a simple – loving promise to ourselves.

Living the life of your dreams is possible. And only you can turn your dream into reality.

Making the world a better place is possible too.

And the change, of course, starts with you.

This year, I urge you to opt for a new type of resolution.

A resolution that will profoundly change your life.

A resolution that, if embraced by many, can truly change the story of humanity.

A simple, yet deeply transformative resolution that will require all your focus and energy.

The resolution to do everything in your power to be the happiest you can be:

“I promise myself to be happy.”

“This year I will remind myself every day that I deserve to be happy and that everyone around me deserves to be happy too. This year, I will devote my energy to being the happiest I can be.”

Yes, you deserve to be happy.

We all do.

In fact, being happy is not just our right, it is our duty.

Because by being happy we honour the gift we have received from life and make our best contribution to humanity.

Honour this resolution and let it transform you.

If you are happy the world will be happier too.

We can inspire and support each other to bring a profound transformation to the way in which we see our lives and our legacy.

Happiness and joy are highly contagious! Together, we can start a new “pandemic” of happiness…a new era – of shared fulfilment, celebration, and solidarity.

If we all decided to do everything in our power to be truly happy, this would, undoubtedly, mark a turning point for humanity.

I want to believe that we are ready. That the world is ready for change. Do you agree?

Let us make 2022 the year when we took our power back. The year when we fundamentally changed our relationship with ourselves and with life.

Let us make 2022 the year when we opened a new, uplifting chapter in the wondrous story of humanity.

She argues passionately that, rather than chasing goal after goal and living for tomorrow, we should, instead, live every day, every moment, with the joy, awe, and serenity we experience when we see our lives from the perspective of Eternity. When we choose to live in Eternity, everything falls into place, everything we do takes on a different meaning, and we become aware that, as humanity, we are, in fact, constantly creating our common legacy.

Silvana’s ambition: to inspire us to write a better story for ourselves – and for humanity – in Eternity!
