“You become what you think about” ‒ Earl Nightingale
Truer words were never spoken. We become what we think about. The key to achieving anything worthwhile in life is to find what you want and focus on it.
The issue at the moment is that we are being bombarded from every direction and at present, there is a huge, overwhelming fear across the globe. The media are so much more powerful than we’ve ever given them credit for. They know that whatever is presented to us, enters our conscious minds and if we are shown often enough, it will creep into our subconscious/habit mind and start to become our reality. The last 2 ½ years have shown me that we have to be extra vigilant. Guarding our thoughts and perception is a full-time job.
In Earl Nightingale’s ‘The Strangest Secret’ (1), he says the key is to focus on our desired outcome or goal and not allow any other thoughts (especially negative ones) to creep in.
I don’t know about you, but the global circumstances right now have really tested me in this department. It's so easy to go down a rabbit hole of information, or to get distracted by the going on that is being reported. I’m determined not to get swept up in the crazy circus and am vigilant in keeping my vibrational frequency high. I’d much rather live a life that is full of love, happiness, and adventure than live in fear.
My journey into mindset and belief systems started about 18 years ago. I’d lost both parents to cancer by the age of 31 and realized that there was way more to their illness than just having dodgy genes. In fact, after reading a book by Dr. Bruce Liption (2), I realized that we are not our genes and this changed my life. By the time we are seven years old, our subconscious blueprint has been set and downloaded but that can be changed quickly and easily using a modality he mentioned called PSYCH-K®. That began my journey to become a PSYCH-K® facilitator and I now help people around the globe to shift and replace their negative or limiting belief systems and live an empowered and amazing life.
Truth is, we have absolute control over how we think and perceive all things in life. Which in turn has a massive impact on our reality and the life we live.
For the last couple of years, even I have at times fallen off the wagon and got caught up in the program of terror and fear that has been repeatedly played out in mainstream media. At times I did let myself get led to despair and unrest. Thankfully I was able to quickly shake myself off and get back on track.
Once you know that we have total control over how we think, it’s a game-changer. Whilst all of the other ‘stuff’ might be going on right now, nobody can tell us how to think. Only we have the final say in that department.
Living at the highest vibrational frequency is the key to being happy and healthy. We also attract people, situations, and opportunities that are on a similar frequency. This means that if we are living in fear or despair, only more of the same will come our way. We will end up being with people who also feel the same and that perpetuates into something so big that it just might consume us.
By taking control of our existence, and removing ourselves from what the general population is doing we have the ability to live the most amazing, peaceful, and healthy lives even right now when the world is in chaos.
You see, the highest vibration is when you live in a state of love, hope, and gratitude. When you are in this frequency, there is the most amazing feeling of peace. The right people - your Tribe - come into your life and opportunities that are a perfect start to appear.
Living in fear, overwhelm, or being scared will lower your vibration and most importantly right now, put your immune system in the toilet. This will only allow any illness to magnify and become worse than it normally would be. Now is the time to focus on keeping as healthy and strong as possible.
Where to start if you are just beginning this journey? Here are a few things that I would recommend. As with anything new, it might take some time to change your habits but this is the life we are talking about. It’s absolutely worth the effort.
Stop watching the news and any mainstream media. Period. I stopped watching and listening to the news and any of those talks shows about 25 years ago. In fact, when my first child was born I banned the news from our house altogether. The mainstream media’s one job is to get ratings. And to do that, they need to over sensationalize everything to the point of crisis.
Block or remove yourself from any groups on social media that constantly share negative or controversial topics. Likewise, either unfriend or restrict friends who share and talk about the latest narrative. Trust me, you are only hurting yourself by being exposed to this all of the time.
On a side note, if you feel the need to keep up on the latest goings-on, find a reputable independent news outlet that is not controlled by the world elites. There are plenty of great choices out there right now. For me, it’s about knowing what is going on but not marinating in the drama, images and it getting flogged to us every single day.
It's time to switch off. There is no way that we can really listen to ourselves with all of the distractions going on around us. We are constantly getting notifications and information sent to us on our phones, laptops, ipads, and even our watches. When we are on alert all of the time, our brain never gets a rest. One of the issues we have in society is that we always have so much to do and our brains always feel the pressure to keep ongoing. Some days the stress this causes is so bad that we almost can’t think straight. This is really damaging to our body and mind. It’s time to slow down and just chill. Do one thing at a time and allow for generous breaks. The alternative is that our stress levels remain at a critical level and over time this will develop into some kind of dis-ease in the body.
Create a quiet place or time where you can just be. Most of us don't even know ourselves by the time we are adults. And when there are partners and children in the mix, it’s very easy to get lost. It took until my children were 9 and 12 for me to fully get this. Before that time I was always rushing and living for everyone else and had no concept of self. It was almost as if I didn't exist as an individual. Over time I changed that and now have a beautiful life, with plenty of time to myself as well as still being fully present with my family. I cherish my alone time and make it a priority.
Take some time to get to know what you want in life. This takes a little bit of time as you’ve likely been so used to doing things for everyone else that you’ve not asked this question of yourself for potentially decades. About 10 years ago I was asked to describe my perfect day. Wow, was that a wake-up. I couldn’t answer as I had no idea what even made me happy anymore. Fast forward and I know my perfect day and it is spectacular.
Once you’ve removed the distraction of global fear, started to switch off, and had time to remember what you love and want out of life it’s time to discover what your goal is. This still might take some time, however now that you’ve found a habit of taking quiet time and switching off, you will be aligned with your higher self and it will come to you.
When you know your goal or your purpose in life, you are ready. Continue to remove any thoughts that take you off the path and start to work towards your ultimate goal. Universal laws are on your side. If you start working towards your goal and don’t allow yourself to get pulled off course with distractions, you will get to where you desire.
Remember, you become what you think about.
