Why Weight Loss And Get Rich Quick Programs Don't Work

I don't want to be negative, but I do want to be honest and realistic, simply because it feels much better that way.


Having studied human behaviours and the mind for 36 years and facilitated personal, spiritual and business growth for 28 years, it has become crystal clear to me why weight loss programs, get rich programs, time management programs, stress management programs and new year's resolutions don't work for most people most of the time.



In this article, I will attempt to answer why that is rather than give you a new program to solve it, which by the way wouldn’t work either for the very same reason.


This is an awareness process rather than a solution process.


We need to get to a higher level of consciousness so we can make new and better choices. This includes how and if to use any of the millions of programs available to fix whatever problems you have.


To say it really bluntly, the reason all those great programs don't work, is because we want to have the problems we have.


This is a hard one to grasp and swallow, but if you look closely enough, you will find it to be true.


And in essence, that's why the programs to fix it, mostly don’t work, particularly long term.


It is relatively easy to get good short term results, which is where the program providers get most of the fabulous testimonials from. Sustaining the progress is much harder, and one single incident can sabotage and reverse the progress in a very short time.


It may take six months to lose 20kg, but it will only take six weeks or less to put it back on... plus some extra.


Let's look at it from pure logic and common-sense point of view.


Does your body want to be overweight? No!


Does your body want to be stressed? No!


Does your body want to drink too much alcohol? No!


Does your body know how much to eat to sustain itself and be healthy? Yes!


Does your body know how to relax and when and how much to sleep. Yes!


Does your body know how much alcohol it can handle without causing damage and hangovers?

Yes!


So why do we overeat, get stressed and drink too much?


We wouldn't if we could truly listen to the natural intelligence of our body.


The problem is not that we eat too much, drink too much or say yes to many things. The real and much deeper problem is, that a part of us wants to. Otherwise, there is no way we would.


If we can accept this reality, we can stop wasting our time and money on programs and start figuring out what and where that part of us that want to be overweight stressed, angry, depressed and so on, is.


Any program that addresses and deals with this, will have a much higher chance of working, not so much short term, but long term, simply because it is dealing with the very root of the problem, not the problem itself.


Is this simple? Yes!


Is it easy? No!


Why not? Because if it was, humanity would have gotten rid of depression, anxiety, obesity, etc. by now.


But the reality is, it is getting worse and worse every decade because the underlying problem is not being addressed.


And it will continue to get worse till we, if we, wake up to what is actually going on within each of us, and start to make that fundamental shift from focussing on our problems to focussing on why and how we created those problems in the first place.
