Einstein once said, “If I had an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask … for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes.”
It is truly fascinating how our brain works. Our conscious mind asks a question. Then our subconscious mind searches through the database of all of our life experiences to bring the answers into our awareness. It starts filtering everything else out. This question-asking skill is a delicate and precise art of creating our daily reality.
Let’s say you have just had COVID and are doing your very best to get back on track, when you find out that you also got laid off! Really? Now? You got to be kidding me! Why me? In that sense, why me means, why is life so unfair to me? Why are bad things happening to me? We ask at the moment of desperation, and our subconscious mind, so very eager to please, starts bringing into our awareness every single thing that is unfair, intolerable, and unpleasant for us to experience. In that very direct sense, both our attitude and our perspective are set through how we ask questions. And, as a result, our life actions and outcomes become an answer to those questions.
I want to share with you the 3 questions that by changing, asking, and answering them your life will unfold in the best and highest possible way.
1. Reframe the results of the past
Realize that anything that you are going through right at this moment is a reflection of the past thoughts, actions, and decisions that were made by you or someone else. Life, as we see it at this very moment, is a result of the past. Indeed, I wrote this article in the past, which is why it can be a part of your present. It is true of everything around us.
Realizing that any frustrating situation similar to what I have described earlier is an echo from the past, reframe it into the present. Ask yourself, preferably out loud, “What is this situation teaching me/ taught me, and what is the best and highest way to learn this lesson moving forward?” Reframing the situation in this way will not only show you a much-desired silver lining, but also the next most important steps to take. This very technique is a result of a similar shift in my life.
There was a time in my life, when I felt I was absolutely stuck and stripped of power in one of my relationships. I kept asking rather semi-consciously, “How can I change or influence my partner in order for him to be more understanding of me? Or should I just change a partner all together?!” You know, when you have a tendency to assume that you have a power to change someone to obtain the result you want. It wasn’t until I shifted to what I was learning and how to move forward that the answer came rather loudly, you are asking a wrong question! Ask how you can grow in a way that you are understood better.
Ouch! And aha!
2. Act in the present
I ask my second power question when I have a sense of overwhelm or am torn between the many tasks facing me. The general question is: “What is the best next step that I can take with the most productive/profound results?” The most recent example of this was me trying to find a journal on Amazon to start my 2022 vision, goals, and manifesting steps. Just as my dissatisfaction was building, my brain asked a version of the question above, in a nutshell, what is the best thing to do here now?
I was guided to instead create a year specific journal with my team Manifest mE: My 2022 Manifesting Journal! For all of us, with the right question asked, our dissatisfaction will lead to innovation! If you feel dissatisfaction is building, it is probably because it is time to shift your internal questions. I know that by acting this way, you will be able to not only prioritize, but also take the action on your priorities.
How about you right now? What is the best next step for you to take right now to achieve the best results possible?
3. Create the future
We reframe the past, act in the present and create the future. We have all practised the negative creation by asking, “What else can go wrong…” And, yes, we all have witnessed that next thing that did. Instead, depending on the current situation you are facing, ask yourself, “How can it get better” or “How much better can it get?” Let your powerful subconscious mind answer it for you.
Notice what you notice because what you notice is what you create. If you notice the negative, reframe to gain the lesson. If you notice the overwhelm, seek to find the next step. As you notice the good, up-level your awareness to how much better it truly can get.
Now, back to Why me? We have asked that question before in a disempowering way. Today, we are reframing it to Why mE? Little “m” for material, matter; capital “E” for Essential, Eternal, Energy. Why mE? Because we are potential energy first, waiting to empower our physical body and daily reality, as guided and freed into action through the questions that we ask.
May we all ask the most empowering questions to create a life of limitless possibilities. My bonus question for you? What else is possible?...
