On April 4th, I turn 32. And this birthday feels different. Not just because it's another trip around the sun but because this year, more than ever, I’ve felt deeply aligned with my purpose. When I look back at my journey from studying medicine across three countries to leaving the traditional medical system and building a lifestyle health coaching business from the ground up, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. There was a time I felt stuck, disillusioned by a system that over-prescribed medications but underdelivered on true healing. I knew I was meant for more than diagnoses and prescriptions; I was meant to help people transform.

Now, I coach people, many of them burnt-out parents, on how to reverse chronic disease, reclaim their energy, and become leaders in their own health journey. I’ve facilitated workshops, hosted summits, interviewed health experts I used to look up to, launched a podcast, and poured my soul into sharing wellness practices that go far beyond surface-level change.
I’ve come to understand that health is deeply personal, transformation is rarely linear, and purpose is found in service. So today, I share with you 32 of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned not just through study but through experience, failure, healing, and growth.
My hope is that one or more of these lessons speaks to you, challenges you, and supports you as you walk your own path.
Health lessons: Your body is your foundation
Health is the greatest wealth. No success matters if you don’t have your health. Prioritizing wellness is an investment, not an expense.
Food is medicine. What you eat impacts your energy, mood, and longevity. Choose nutrient-dense foods that fuel your body.
Strength training is essential. Building muscle isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s crucial for metabolism, longevity, and overall function.
Sleep is non-negotiable. A well-rested mind and body outperform a sleep-deprived hustle every time. Quality sleep enhances recovery, focus, and emotional resilience.
Hydration is underrated. Most people are dehydrated without realizing it. Proper hydration supports digestion, skin health, and energy levels.
Daily movement is better than extreme workouts. Consistency beats intensity. A 20-minute walk every day does more for long-term health than occasional intense exercise.
Sunlight and nature are healing. Spending time outside boosts vitamin D, mental health, and overall well-being. Make nature a non-negotiable part of your life.
Listen to your body. Pain, fatigue, and stress are signals, not inconveniences. Your body communicates; learn to understand and honor its needs.
Mindset lessons: Your thoughts shape your reality
Your mindset determines your success. Everything starts in the mind. Cultivating a growth mindset unlocks opportunities that a fixed mindset blocks.
Failure is feedback, not a full stop. Every setback carries a lesson. The faster you extract the lesson, the quicker you can move forward.
Self-discipline equals self-respect. Keeping the promises you make to yourself builds confidence, integrity, and success.
Gratitude shifts everything. No matter what challenges arise, there is always something to be grateful for. Gratitude rewires the brain for positivity.
Imperfect action beats perfect inaction. Waiting until everything is "just right" means you never start. Progress happens when you take the first step.
Embrace discomfort. Growth lives outside of comfort zones. Every great transformation starts with discomfort.
Control what you can; release what you can't. Stressing over uncontrollable factors only drains your energy. Direct your focus to what you can influence.
Detach from the outcome. Success is built on consistent action, not obsessing over results. Enjoy the process, and the results will follow.
Personal growth lessons: Evolve or stay stagnant
Read every day. Books are mentorship in print. The right book at the right time can change your entire perspective.
Invest in yourself. Your skills, knowledge, and mindset are your greatest assets. Never stop learning and improving.
Your habits define your future. Small daily habits compound into massive life changes over time. Choose them wisely.
Discipline creates freedom. The more structured and intentional you are, the more control you have over your life.
Time is your most valuable currency. Spend it wisely. Who and what you give your time to determines the quality of your life.
Growth requires letting go. Not everything (or everyone) is meant to come with you into your next chapter. Release what no longer serves you.
Don't fear reinvention. Life is about evolving. Who you were five years ago doesn’t have to define who you are today.
Protect your energy. Not every argument needs a response. Not every invitation needs an acceptance. Choose your battles and your peace.
Relationship lessons: The people you surround yourself with matter
You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Choose wisely. Surround yourself with people who uplift, challenge, and inspire you.
Not everyone deserves access to you. Protect your energy. Give your time and attention to those who genuinely add value to your life.
Communication is key in every relationship, whether personal or professional. Clear, honest communication prevents misunderstandings and builds trust.
Boundaries are a form of self-respect. Saying no to others is often saying yes to yourself. Don’t compromise your peace for people-pleasing.
Give without expectation. Generosity and kindness create abundance, but true giving comes without attachment to what you get in return.
Love is a choice, not just a feeling. Long-term relationships, whether romantic or friendships, require effort, understanding, and mutual commitment.
Success lessons: Build a life, not just a career
Define success on your own terms. Society has a version of success, but it may not align with what truly fulfills you. Create your own definition.
Legacy is greater than money. How you impact others and the contributions you make will outlast any material wealth. Focus on making a difference.
Conclusion: A birthday beyond myself
As I enter 32, I realize that every lesson I’ve shared here was hard-earned, shaped through trials, courage, and moments where I wanted to give up but chose to keep going. I’ve had to
outgrow versions of myself that were playing small, doubting their gifts, or chasing validation.
I’ve learned that leadership is not about having all the answers; it’s about walking through the fire first so you can help others navigate it better.
From coaching burnt-out parents on reversing diabetes to learning Spanish so I can reach more lives, from lifting weights to regulate my mind to recording podcast episodes from my heart, every day I wake up grateful to live my truth.
This birthday isn’t just about me. It’s about you, the reader, the dreamer, the parent, the professional who’s ready to live a little braver, a little healthier, and a little more free.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to your evolution and mine.
