A morning routine encourages us to start our day off with intentions and purpose. These few actions and steps are so crucial. They can set the tone.

Here are 5 ideas you can take with you when building out your morning!

1. Get enough sleep!

This may be confusing to some, but your routine does not start that morning. It begins the night before. Not getting enough sleep will affect you the following day. Say goodbye to electronics at least 30 minutes before bed. Give yourself time to unwind. This unwinding period will trickle into the next morning with positive effects.

2. Wake up earlier than you have been.

I know some of us aren’t morning people and that is completely okay. This does not have to be a huge shift in time. Maybe set your alarm 20 minutes earlier than usual. You can slowly grow that into 30, 40, or 50 minutes earlier. Baby steps count. The extra minutes will prevent stress and rushing. This also will allow you to have more “me” time before your workday.

3. Meditate.

If you give yourself more time in the morning, then you are giving yourself time to try new things. Meditation can help you zone in and focus on the day. Don’t worry about the “what ifs” and focus on the “what is”. Try small steps at first. So many do 5-minute meditations and it can make such a difference. Some apps you can use for guided meditations are ‒ The Peloton App, Youtube, Calm App, Beachbody, and more.

4. Get started on mindset work!

Let’s break out some journaling. This will get your brain flowing. There are so many mindset workbooks that can help start your day. How we communicate with ourselves is extremely powerful. Some open a notebook and brain dump while others love guided journals. Case Kenny has created amazing, guided journals that are sold right on amazon.

5. Make your bed!

Completing this small task will lead to more productivity throughout the day. Once you check off one task on your list, you will start easily checking off others. Also, this will help you feel calm. Your bedroom should send relaxing vibes. If it is messy or disorganized, you will not be relaxed.

These are just a few of the many ideas that you can use for your morning routine. You can swap these out and implement others instead. 30+ minutes to yourself each day can go such a long way. Take back control of the way you spend your time. You will then realize just how powerful you are.
