Their approach combines science-based methods with experiential practices like breathwork, neurogenic tremoring, HeartMath, and the Socratic Method, integrating mind, body, and spirit for lasting transformation. For deeper support, they offer tailored mentorship with Jason and personalized sessions with Siv to address individual needs and goals.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, alignment, or a stronger connection to yourself, The Integrated Human equips you with the tools and guidance to thrive in every area of life. They believe transformation is not just about change—it’s also about integration.
Are you stuck between grinding for success and feeling unfulfilled? Deep in your spiritual journey but still struggling to make ends meet? Tired of self-help gurus preaching ‘hustle harder’ or ‘you’re perfect as you are’? At The Integrated Human, we cut through the noise to help you uncover the truth of who you are—and who you’re meant to be. It’s time to align your purpose, potential, and prosperity.
What led you to co-found Integrated Human, and what is your main goal with the company?
After conducting over 60,000 chiropractic consultations since 1996 and successfully coaching hundreds of clients, my wife Siv Jøssang Shields, and I, Jason Shields, realized that many health issues have fundamental and powerful roots in the mental, emotional, and behavioral aspects of the person. When we started to help people heal themselves through our unique process, they not only felt better but also discovered the key principles of peak performance, resilience under stress, and recovery from burnout. After hundreds of success stories, we realized that the process could be packaged into a system accessible to people worldwide.
This realization led to the creation of The Integrated Human, where our main goal is to empower individuals across all levels of achievement and performance with tools to evolve, achieve, and grow through dedicated inner work. Central to our approach is H.E.A.T.—Human Evolutionary and Achievement Technology—a groundbreaking methodology that expands on the concept of flow.
While traditional approaches to flow focus on brief, peak experiences, we’ve developed the Flow State Continuum, a system that enables people to live in a state of flow more consistently and controllably in their daily lives. We combine the heightened awareness of extreme sports with the deep integration of meditative practices and the practical tools necessary to turn ambitions into achievements. Integrated Human is about helping people experience the awakening of flow in every aspect of life while pursuing their goals with clarity and purpose.
How does Integrated Human’s approach to personal growth stand out from other methods?
The Integrated Human’s approach to personal growth is distinct because it is taught by people who have achieved and experienced peak performance in their own lives and have shared these processes with hundreds of others. In an “Insta-Fake” world, where most “life coaches” need both coaching and a life with experiences and achievements worth sharing, we have paid our dues. We do not waste your time with fake promises of a magic bullet that fixes all your problems instantly. We cut the distance between you and your vision by showing you the truth and the proven path.
Jason Shields is an international speaker, a doctor of chiropractic, co-founder of several businesses, a three-time Master World Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and a consultant and coach for people ranging from Olympic athletes to high-powered business leaders.
Siv Jøssang Shields is also an international speaker and a doctor of chiropractic, co-founder of several businesses, holds a master’s in physiology, and is certified in and further developing, neurogenic tremoring, as well as in Heart Math, Soma Breath, and hypnotherapy.
Our CEO, Marit Tyssedal Gabrielsen, is a Master World Medalist in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, was a second lieutenant in the Norwegian Military and has education in Leadership in Organizational Development with a specialization in Leadership. This “tripod,” as we are often referred to, creates a unique power source for people’s ability to thrive and grow.
Our methodology combines deep inner work with transformative practices that align the conscious and subconscious mind—a process we call “Discovery.” We begin by using the Socratic method to guide individuals through this process of discovery, uncovering limiting beliefs, identifying blockages in their worldview, and addressing incongruencies between their worldview and personal philosophy. This in-depth exploration helps individuals understand what they do, and how it affects the way they create their lives.
Once this foundational understanding is established, and their awareness is on point, we introduce powerful techniques to access the subconscious mind—the part responsible for most of our mental processing and creative power. We call this phase “Transformation.” Using breathwork, trance-induced states, and guided meditations are all uniquely rooted in your nervous system. Which means that its effects are universal and are cross-cultural. We help individuals not only elevate their awareness and consciousness but also reintegrate these states into their everyday lives. This is so important because any functional meditation practice needs to elevate your life everywhere, not just in the moment when you are sitting on your yoga mat. This phase is called “Integration.”
The result is a functional, empowered human being who has the clarity and tools to create the best version of themselves and their life.
What are the key values that guide your work with clients?
At The Integrated Human, we are guided by a holistic principle we call working “up, down, inside, out.” This approach empowers individuals to align themselves from their highest goals and ambitions to effective actions in their lives that help them create a life they love. It’s about achieving all the amazing results that a grinding, grueling everyday life can produce—but still loving yourself and your life!
This process transforms ideas into meaningful action, creating real-world results. Our clients learn to deeply understand themselves, make choices that truly support their dreams, and live authentically from their highest vision. What once felt difficult or out of reach becomes a natural way of being.
They become the kind of person for whom their desires and goals are not only achievable but inevitable.
Can you share a moment when you saw someone’s life change because of your work?
One of the most profound examples of the transformative power of the Integrated Human process is found in the journey of our CEO, Marit Tyssedal Gabrielsen. During her military career, Marit experienced trauma that created a freezing response in every high-pressure situation in her life. Later, as she pursued competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at an international level, the intense stress of performance triggered flashes of this freeze response in her nervous system.
Through the Human Evolutionary and Achievement Technology (H.E.A.T.) we’ve developed, Marit was able to align herself with her highest goals and ambitions, realign her worldview and personal philosophy, and eliminate the subconscious triggers that were hindering her ability to perform optimally.
Her journey of overcoming challenges is nothing short of remarkable. Despite facing a foot injury, a jaw fracture, and even an allergic reaction to sunscreen in Las Vegas—resulting in her eyes swelling shut the day before the competition—Marit not only competed but earned a medal at the Master World Championship in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
This level of resilience and excellence is a testament to what’s possible when someone fully embraces The Integrated Human process. Marit not only achieved peak performance on the competition mat but also integrated a controllable flow state into her everyday life, turning challenges into opportunities for growth and alignment. This improved not only her abilities to achieve but has transformed and expanded her life, improving everything from her relationship with her husband to compassion for others and building a life that she could never have dreamed of before. And if you were ever wanting to choose a CEO, you would always pick a person who has done that kind of work.
But understand one thing: many use us to achieve something great like an Olympic medal, a world championship, or becoming a millionaire. However, some of our most grateful clients have grown beyond crushing anxiety, debilitating self-doubt, and an inability to recover in their everyday lives. These clients now love being themselves. They embrace challenges and have lifted themselves to a totally new way of experiencing life, having found unconditional love for who they are.
What challenges have you faced in growing The Integrated Human, and how did you get through them?
The greatest challenge we’ve faced in growing The Integrated Human has been distinguishing ourselves from those offering quick fixes. While the Integrated Human process can provide a supercharged boost to everyday life, it’s not a one-time, quick-fix solution. Our H.E.A.T. is designed as a lifelong process of compounding growth.
We’ve overcome this challenge by focusing on delivering real-world results. By consistently helping our clients achieve transformative outcomes—aligning them with their highest goals and ambitions—we’ve built a reputation for authenticity and impact. We are the real deal.
What’s your vision for the future of Integrated Human, and what do you hope to achieve next?
Our vision for the future of The Integrated Human is to share our H.E.A.T.—Human Evolutionary and Achievement Technologies—with the world. We aim to expand our events to all continents, reaching audiences of 2,000 to 3,000 people at a time. By doing so, we can create a community of awakening people making a better society.
Through these large-scale events, we want people to directly experience the transformative power of the Flow State Continuum. By guiding participants to align their highest goals, emotions, and actions, we aim to generate a ripple effect that spreads through families, workplaces, and communities. This process can ultimately contribute to a healthier, stronger, and more conscious society driven by passion and aligned choices.
