Maxcine Watson, Life & Fertility Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life so we can get to know you better.

Hi everyone, my name is Maxcine. I'm a Life and Fertility Coach. I help men and women create the families they want now by focusing on the lifestyle factors that impact their fertility journey. I'm delighted to connect with you all. You can learn more about reproductive health from my articles in Brainz Magazine and other international publications.

When I'm not championing the cause, I'm a mom with a true zest for life. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a conundrum. I love to be out in the city, yet I'm okay with staying in and watching a movie. Even though I'm an avid cook, I get excited when invited to a restaurant. I am somewhat of a social butterfly in public, although I enjoy being alone, staring at the stars in the night sky.

I had pets as a child. One of my favorite childhood memories was attending the annual fair, where I learned more about conservation and agriculture. So, I do have an appreciation for animals. I also write poetry in a journal. It's an excellent way for me to explore my thoughts.

What inspired you to create Maxcine Watson | Life & Fertility Coaching, and what is the primary focus or mission of your website and business?

My own life experiences have catalysed my desire to support people on their path. Assisting others with cultivating their self-awareness is a fantastic tool. In doing so, they propel themselves forward with the confidence to handle whatever life throws at them. Life Coaching is quite beneficial in that respect.

For the fertility component, specifically, it was finding out that my ability to conceive naturally was slowly diminishing as I grew older. The window would one day close. All the while, I was hyper-focused on my career path, relationships, and other things. I wasn't paying close enough attention to my body, not because I didn't want to but because I didn't know I had to. I was on "auto-pilot."

Our bodies change as we age, and so does our fertility. I can still have children; however, I know more about the importance of planning for parenting than I ever did before. I am dedicated to helping others make informed choices about their fertility. Whether now or in the future, they can exercise their options with the appropriate resources, information, and support needed to create the family life they desire.

Who inspires you to be the best that you can be?

My children, whom I often call secretly "my angel bugs," are my greatest inspiration. Nothing drives me to show up daily as my "best self" more than being a mother. Part of the reason I chose this niche is to know that one day, I would have helped create a world where my children will feel comfortable with their parenting choices, whether it be to raise biological children, surrogacy, foster, or adopt.

Could you provide an overview of the content or services offered on your website, Maxcine Watson | Life & Fertility Coaching, and how they cater to your audience's interests or needs?

My website aims to inform, educate, and inspire visitors to make bold choices about what they want out of life, especially if they seek to have a family. I provide coaching services and support to those looking to give their future the best versions of themselves by working through their current challenges. No matter the life event they face, i.e., pregnancy, parenting, or self-improvement, the possibilities exist to make changes happen. Together, we'll work to find the way forward.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

One thing I would change about my industry is how people can access affordable fertility care. Not many employers' health insurance plans cover fertility treatments. Patients who require these services are still burdened with a hefty medical bill at the onset.

The cost associated with medications, procedures, testing, supplements, etc., can quickly add up. One way to elevate the pressure is to prepare for parenting ahead of time.

For example, most people don't begin planning for retirement on the last day of employment. They have been working on a plan months, if not years, in advance. The same should be valid for the use of assisted reproductive technology. These treatments can get expensive.

It is a wise investment to consider making prior arrangements around creating a family, with the understanding that fertility is not infinite. And it doesn't discriminate. Infertility can affect any culture, community, or financial status. There are consequences to waiting. If you choose to wait, it can be costly to materialize the dreams of becoming a parent later.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

For myself, and I assume many people worldwide, the pandemic sparked a movement for change. No other time in history were we forced to sit with ourselves and examine the fragility of our lives. We lost a lot of people. No one knew where the world would end up on the other side of this experience.

For some, it became an invitation to follow a new path. In the wake of job losses, career changes, and navigating relationships, it opened up the possibility of finding greater happiness.

When I look back at this period years from now, I want to remember the pandemic for more than the stories I saw and heard in the media. Accepting that I wanted more out of life was the moment that I decided to dive deeper into Coaching.

Are there any famous celebrities, influencers, quotes, books, or sayings that propel you to strive for success?

There are far too many influential books, lectures, and people to mention who have played a crucial role in shaping how I view the world. I grew up in a diverse environment rich in culture, art, food, and musicall genres, from rock and roll to classical. With that comes a sincere love for creativity and self-expression. And I come from a large family where traditions were just as important as our beliefs.

I believe anyone can make a difference if they are willing to put in the effort. It doesn't take much, but it does require action. Putting forth physical effort is the greatest tool in your arsenal. Without it, all you have are ambitious thoughts with nothing behind it.

What are some words of encouragement that you can offer your audience that are synonymous with your own beliefs?

The words of encouragement that I often share with friends and colleagues are:

"When we hold ourselves in high regard, every person, place, or thing must be held to the same standards."

I explain this statement by saying when we decide what we want for ourselves, such as making a career change, surviving trauma and loss, or creating a whole new identity, it will require action. If we want to make the vision our reality, we must do something about it.

During this process of taking action, we discover we have the power and responsibility to make significant changes in our livesformulating a strategy and establishing criteria for how our plans will be carried out. Once that process is underway, even on a micro level, we'll see the fruits of our labor.

The understanding is that none of these achievements would be possible if we didn't take a stand for them in the first place. Our shifts are now the blueprint for how we'll obtain our future aspirations. We establish integrity by applying these principles to all areas of life and anything we desire.

Staying true to what we do and say sends a message to everyone about our character; we value who we are.
