In this interview with Brainz Magazine, Jonathan discusses the impact of RTT and BOOST coaching, his journey from business professional to coach, and how his online courses empowering people to harness the power of hypnosis for their own personal and professional growth.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what inspired you to create My Fit Mind?
I’m Jonathan Butler the founder of My Fit Mind, a service dedicated to empowering individuals to thrive through hypnosis and expert coaching. My journey began as a young elite-level cyclist when I first started experimenting with hypnosis as a tool to achieve higher and more consistent performances. This enabled me to go from being successful at a local level to being among the top performers in the whole of the UK. In my later business career, I carried forward these learnings to help me become one of the most successful salespeople and then sales leaders in the tech industry. I was always learning more about how I could innovate and improve, and I therefore developed my own sales methodology that rejected pushy, high-pressure selling and focused instead on getting exceptional results through creating a ‘pull-led’ sales approach that reflected the ‘buying psychology’ of clients. This model focuses on creating an environment where people want to work with you and that enabled me to get up to 90% conversion rates in sales situations. This is a method that I teach to people to this day and it is perfect for people such as Coaches, RTT Therapists and Hypnotherapists!
After suffering from a serious and unexplained medical condition in 2014 I took this as a sign that I needed to make change in my own life and do something more emotionally meaningful. I was suffering from several physical issues and a lot of anxiety having been through several very challenging life events. I found talking therapies and taking tablets didn’t help at all and because of my existing interest in hypnosis, I was drawn toward trying Marisa Peers’ Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) to help me get my mojo back.
Using RTT I was able to help myself overcome my anxiety and physical ailments such as fibromyalgia and IBS that I was suffering very badly from. After seeing the profound impact RTT had on my own life and others I worked with, I realised there was a gap in making these types of tools accessible for self-practice and ongoing personal development for my existing RTT Clients but also for a whole new audience who can’t afford this kind of one-to-one therapy.
My Fit Mind was born out of a passion to provide as many people as possible with the skills to take charge of their mental health, overcome challenges, and unlock their potential.
What is the mission behind My Fit Mind, and how does it stand out in the wellness industry?
Our Mission at My Fit Mind is to help a million people improve their emotional well-being without the need for medications. Health Systems around the world are overwhelmed and a new model is needed. I believe that by using tools such as self-hypnosis many emotional and physical illnesses can be avoided, and we can move to a more sustainable and less drug-reliant approach to healthcare.
Our mission at My Fit Mind is to make self-hypnosis practical and approachable for everyone. While I love working one to one with people, I wanted to be able to reach as many people as possible. Unlike other wellness platforms, we focus on empowering individuals with tools they can use independently. Our courses are designed to fit seamlessly into people’s busy lives, offering real-world applications for boosting confidence, reducing anxiety, stopping unhealthy habits, and more. How does your Self-Hypnosis Mastery Course work, and who can benefit from it?
The Self-Hypnosis Mastery Course is an online program designed to guide people just like you, step-by-step through learning self-hypnosis. It takes just 7 days to master the skill. It’s suitable for anyone, whether they want to build confidence, overcome limiting beliefs, or reduce stress. Participants receive scripts, practical exercises, and easy to follow guidance to start practicing self-hypnosis immediately. The course benefits anyone looking to gain greater control over their mind and improve their quality of life—it’s equally impactful as a supplement to therapy (many of my existing RTT Clients go on to learn my Self Hypnosis Mastery as their next step in their self-development) or as a standalone self-help tool.
I also encourage anyone who is thinking of being a hypnotherapist to do this course before committing to their teaching training. I say this because mastering self-hypnosis allows people to see the results for themselves before committing to a new career and will, therefore, give them the belief in the power of hypnosis and the passion that they need for hypnosis to become a successful therapist.
Hypnosis is often misunderstood. How do you address misconceptions about it?
That’s a great question! Many people think hypnosis is about losing control or being manipulated, but it’s actually the opposite. People who get hypnotised on stage are people who want to be chosen. They want the attention. No one can be hypnotised against their will. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention that allows you to access your subconscious mind. It’s about gaining control over your thoughts and behaviours. Using hypnosis, you can quickly get into flow states to be highly productive and cut out unhelpful thoughts. At My Fit Mind, we emphasize education, helping participants understand that self-hypnosis is a safe, empowering tool rooted in science. Our approach demystifies hypnosis and shows how it can be a practical, everyday method for personal growth.
What are some common challenges people face when trying to improve their mental health, and how does My Fit Mind address them?
One of the biggest challenges is feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to start. Many people are also sceptical about investing time in something new or doubt their ability to achieve results. My Fit Mind addresses these challenges by breaking down self-hypnosis into simple, actionable steps. We provide a structured approach, reassurance through success stories, and a personal guarantee of value. Our courses are designed to build confidence quickly, giving participants tangible results they can see and feel.
Can you share a success story from someone who has used My Fit Mind to transform their life?
Absolutely. One of my recent clients was feeling stuck in so many aspects of her life. She had stagnated at work. She was struggling in her relationship and felt like she had lost her joy in life. She wanted to make changes in her life and get her mojo back, but she wasn’t sure where to start. We had an initial exploratory call. I was sure that I could help her and we agreed that we should start by helping her get her self-belief back. This was the cornerstone we needed to create to give her the platform to thrive again. She was feeling stuck and had lost a lot of confidence in herself and her ability to have the things we wanted. We focused on rebuilding her belief through an RTT Therapy session, supported by access to my Self Hypnosis Mastery course. This enabled her to build her self-confidence and create a deep belief that she could move forward. Within 3 weeks she was feeling much more confident, energised, and beginning to get much more clarity of thought. She continued to use the self-hypnosis mastery, supported by some individual coaching sessions, using my BOOST Coaching Methodology.
After 3 months of working together, she has started a new job in a company that is a great fit for her. She is highly motivated and has already been promoted. She has had the confidence to work through her relationship challenges and feels much happier in her personal life. She feels she has regained her zest for life and is now very optimistic about the future. She regularly uses the skills that she learned in my Self Hypnosis mastery course and feels equipped to function at her best no matter what is going on around her.

How do you envision the future of My Fit Mind? Are there any exciting plans on the horizon?
The future of My Fit Mind is all about growth and innovation. We’re launching a subscription service to provide ongoing support and new content for our community. This will include monthly hypnosis sessions, live Q&A webinars, and additional tools to address specific goals like weight loss, stopping smoking, and building resilience. We’re also exploring partnerships with therapists and wellness coaches to integrate our courses into their coaching programmes to help their coaching clients get even better results
What advice would you give to someone new to hypnosis and hesitant to try it?
Start with an open mind and curiosity. Hypnosis isn’t about someone controlling you—it’s about you taking control of your thoughts and emotions. Forget any preconceptions. This is a powerful tool that can help you in so many parts of your life.
I recommend beginning with small, manageable steps, like listening to one of my Guided YouTube Videos and then moving on to my self-hypnosis content. At My Fit Mind, we provide all the tools and support to make your first experience positive and impactful. Remember, every expert was once a beginner, and hypnosis is no different—it’s a skill anyone can learn and benefit from.
