There are many entrepreneurs who think the notion of having a personal brand only works for the corporate type of person, such as lawyers, doctors, etc. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Professionals aren't the only ones who can benefit from having and communicating their amazing personal brand. If anything, I think being an entrepreneur presents a unique opportunity to showcase who you are, build a strong reputation and image to attract your ideal client, and substantially raise your income. Entrepreneurs are “walking billboards” for their businesses, so effective communication is paramount! However, many entrepreneurs struggle to find the words to communicate the true value they offer, their expertise, and why their product or service is the best solution for their ideal client.

Failure to communicate properly can lead to dire branding and financial struggles in their business. One of the easiest ways to cut through some of these communication challenges, or “red tape,” is first to realize that successful communication is a true art form. And for the entrepreneur trying to lead that conversation, it is so important to lead it with confidence and your own unique style. Tapping into your own style of communication allows you to tap into your “Brand Communication Superpower.” Those superpowers are likened to a superhero's "red cape." They allow you to effectively and effortlessly communicate your value, stand out distinctly in your market, and become top of mind to your clients. You may be wondering, “how does one really uncover their Brand Communication superpowers?” The following are three great personal branding tools you can leverage to communicate more effectively.

The Power Of Your Brand Story

Story is everything, and it is a universal language! Statistics show that people are 22% more likely to connect with you because of your brand story. Your unique story is what sets you apart from anyone on the planet. No one shares identical experiences, insights, thoughts, etc. Your brand story allows you to connect with your potential clients on an emotional level that can create strong brand connections and convert your clients into lifelong fans. Thus, leveraging your story is an excellent tool to use in growing your brand. Helping people understand who you are and "why" you offer the goods or services you do often makes it easier to build a "know, like, and trust" factor with clients. Extrapolating the theme of your story can sometimes be a heavy task, but working directly with a coach can help you pen it.

Your Own Unique Brand Language

Everyone actually has their own unique Brand language! No two people communicate alike since our personalities, passions, experiences, values, etc., are different. Communicating in this unique way is what will attract more clients to you and your product or service. It is what makes you authentic and captivating. Sadly, many entrepreneurs don’t know how to identify, express, or cultivate their language style. To get clearer on your unique brand language,." pay attention to your personality type, overall disposition, choice of words, tone, etc. How can you effectively & constructively use these elements to solidify your brand language? Oftentimes the tendency is to discount an accent you may have or try and tone down a bubbly personality. Changing yourself entirely will create a communication strain for yourself and potential clients. Failure to communicate in a way that comes naturally to you can lead to brand miscommunication. Ask clients and your target market for their feedback.

Your Uniquely Cultivated Brand Message

Your brand message is a representation of “what” you stand for and your overarching "why". It is the pinnacle. What message are you really trying to communicate to your client? Why do you do the work that you do? In Simon Sinek's book, "Start With Why," he underscores the importance of being able to clearly communicate the reason behind the work you do and the importance of its impact on your clients. Your Brand message should convey your unique value proposition and should be compelling and motivating to heighten client conversion. What does your brand message say about the value you offer others and why they should buy your products and/or services?

Your personal brand is an excellent way to communicate who you are and what you represent in your business. Although communicating your personal brand may have its challenges,, it equally has its awards. Careful consideration and planning will go a long way in helping you shift your communication from difficult to easy and successful. The 3 aforementioned strategies will definitely pave the way for you to have exciting and engaging connections in business for years to come.
