Tan Chrissis, Speaker and Mindset Coach
Introduce yourself!
Hi, I’m Tan Chrissis, a mindset coach, speaker, and the founder of Cognitive Verse. My life is all about balance. I’m deeply passionate about helping others achieve their goals and align with their purpose, but I also value adventure and downtime. When I’m not working, you’ll find me bouldering, boxing, or watching a good movie. I’m a huge believer in lifelong learning, which drives me to stay curious about life and people.
My journey hasn’t been conventional, but every twist and turn has brought me closer to where I am now. My family and friends are my greatest support system, and I try to bring the same warmth and encouragement to those I coach.
What inspired you to create Cognitive Verse, and what is its core mission?
Cognitive Verse was born out of a very personal experience. Losing a colleague and friend to mental health struggles made me realize how urgent it is to address the disconnect between ambition, mental well-being, and purpose. That moment drove me to create a space where people could access tools and guidance to optimize their mental performance and truly thrive.
The mission of Cognitive Verse is simple yet profound: to empower individuals and organizations to harness the power of their minds and live intentionally.
How does your platform support individuals or businesses in achieving their goals?
We provide tools, coaching, and frameworks that help people build mental clarity, boost creativity, and develop resilience. Whether it’s personal growth or enhancing team dynamics in a business setting, Cognitive Verse is all about practical strategies that make change not only possible but sustainable.
Can you share a success story or notable impact your platform has had so far?
One that stands out is a client who came to us feeling stuck in both their career and personal life. Through one of our frameworks, they gained clarity about their core values and what truly mattered to them. Not only did they transition into a role they’re passionate about, but they also started prioritizing their mental health and relationships in a way that transformed their entire life. Hearing that Cognitive Verse played a part in that journey was incredibly fulfilling.
How do you see the future of cognitive tools and technology evolving?
I think the future is incredibly exciting. As we continue to understand more about the brain, cognitive tools will become even more personalized and intuitive. Technology can help us build habits, measure progress, and provide insights in ways that weren’t possible before. The key will be keeping the human element front and center—technology should empower us, not replace genuine connection.
What advice would you give to someone new to exploring cognitive tools for personal or professional growth?
Start small and stay consistent. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the wealth of information out there, but growth doesn’t happen overnight. Identify one area you’d like to improve, find a simple tool or framework that resonates with you, and commit to it for a set period. Trust the process, and be kind to yourself along the way.
Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.
Taking the leap to leave a comfortable corporate position and follow my passion for coaching and speaking is hands down my proudest moment. It was terrifying, but it was also the most liberating decision I’ve ever made. Creating Cognitive Verse from scratch and seeing it impact lives is something I’ll always cherish.
If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?
I’d love to see a greater focus on mental well-being and authenticity in all aspects of work and leadership. Too often, there’s a disconnect between personal development and professional success, when in reality, they’re deeply intertwined.
Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.
Losing my friend was a wake-up call. It forced me to confront the fact that life is fleeting, and if we’re not living authentically, we’re wasting precious time. That experience shaped my purpose and gave me the courage to make bold decisions. It’s a reminder I carry with me every day—live your dream while awake.
