GIVE OF YOURSELF FROM YOUR HEART!
KINDNESS, A SIMPLE SMILE, MINDFULNESS
Your presence is the best gift you can give to another person. During this festive time, stay close to your loved ones. Offer them your presence, complete attention, and deep spiritual connection. Don't let anything separate you from them or allow this precious connection to become contaminated by technology, social media, ringing phones, or your TV.
Stop now and think about what message of indifference we send to the people sitting in front of us if we are busy with our phone calls, emails, texts etc.?
Technology is certainly a huge barrier to our mindful presence with others, but it is not the main culprit.
The main culprit is our mind. Our mind is like a wake-up alarm clock, and we have no control over when it goes off or what it tells us. You can sit face to face with someone, physically within a few centimeters, but consciously, be far away from this world. When someone really listens to us and is fully present with us right now, we are sure of it. No doubt because we feel it.
Those moments when we are fully present with someone, and when it is reciprocated, feel like magic!
The rest of the world fades into the background. How you feel when you fall in love and feel deeply connected; you feel deep communication and unity.
There are ways to present yourself and cultivate unity.
Just a few examples:
Eye contact – because the eyes are windows to the soul.
Listen but also hear.
Turn off all interfering technologies.
The world can wait.
Part of me is sad to know that all over the world there will be families sitting in their living rooms, surrounded by their loved ones, but who may not actually be really there in the present. Distracted either by their own minds, their phones, or maybe their new gifts.
To be surrounded by those we love the most, and be with them more than just physically, but also emotionally and spiritually.
Well, isn't that worth more than any gift you'll receive this year?
Make the other person a gift of your presence because: “When you love someone, the best thing you can offer is your presence. How can you love if you are not there? "
Thich Nhat Hanh (Will Aylward – Tiny Buddha)
Research shows that even a small smile can change a lot. What’s more, a smile has a positive effect not only on the person to whom it is directed but also, on the person smiling. Smiling has many health benefits, one of which is improved immunity, enhanced mood, and even a positive effect on mental health, lowering the level of stress hormones, It has a beneficial effect on the circulatory system, especially the heart.
Just smiling from the heart, lowers blood pressure and reduces pain sensation. It soothes anxiety and helps fight depression. A smile that lasts at least 15 seconds brings as many health benefits as intense exercise – it stimulates the release of endorphins, the hormones of happiness.
Richard Davidson, a neuropsychologist, on the basis of his research, proved that showing kindness has a positive effect on the work of the brain. Now is the time to tune in and train your brain.
A physical, as well as SPIRITUAL PRESENCE, is the best gift we can give our loved ones this CHRISTMAS.
A Real Christmas,
Smile not only for everyone around you but yourself.
With love in my heart to all,
