Chloe Redmond, Founder of Vino Vaquera Consulting, sits down with the owners of Wild West Thermography to explore the layers of offerings and passion behind their services.

Hello Becky & Nick! I am honored to share your story and passion with the publication and its audience! When you are ready, please formally introduce yourself.

My name is Becky Bailey– I am a certified Thermography technician and a dedicated wellness advocate. My husband, Nick Bailey, a resilient soul, is on a remarkable journey of natural healing from cancer. Together, we share a fervent passion for our holistic lifestyle, seamlessly integrating it into our professional practice. Join us as we delve into the realms of health and well-being, bridging science and spirit, in pursuit of a healthier, more vibrant life.

Becky, we know that there is a powerful story behind Wild West Wellness & Thermography. Can you share the journey of how your company came to fruition?

Twenty-three years ago, I tragically lost my first husband to the lingering aftermath of his cancer treatment. This horrible loss prompted a life-altering realization that the choices we make about what we put into and onto our bodies, as well as the environment we create around ourselves, play a big role in our well-being.

When I was first introduced to Thermography, it was an exciting moment for me. I was fascinated by the potential this technology held. It surprised me that such a powerful tool remained relatively unknown to many. However, when my current husband, Nick, faced his own cancer diagnosis in April, our journey into holistic approaches introduced us to some remarkable therapies. Witnessing the astonishing results that these alternative therapies yielded in his healing process, we became dedicated advocates of its potential and have incorporated them into our services.

Along the way, our kids, family, and dear friends stood by us, giving us the strength and love we needed to keep going. This support was a big part of our journey and kept us pushing forward.

We're deeply grateful for the journey we are on and the invaluable lessons it has imparted. This journey has not only enriched our personal lives but has also paved the way for expanding our business. It's here that our unwavering passion for holistic wellness and cutting-edge technology serves as part of the backbone of this business.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing! The strength of your family foundation and approach is incredible. Nick, would you give us a first-hand glimpse into your thermography experience from a patient standpoint?

I might be a bit partial in my assessment of my thermography appointment, primarily because my wife was the technician! Nonetheless, she made me feel at ease. She demonstrated thoroughness in her work and maintained excellent communication throughout. During the appointment, I had the full-body scan, and then further on a specific scan of my torso. I had been experiencing some issues around my kidney area, where my cancer is.

Although I understood that this scan wouldn't provide a definitive diagnosis, it did offer a general insight. As expected, the results indicated inflammation in that area.

Becky, can you walk us through the prevention abilities and benefits of thermography as a holistic practice?

Thermography, as a non-invasive imaging technique, has several preventative abilities and benefits:

Early Detection: Thermography can detect subtle changes in skin temperature, often before other symptoms manifest. This early detection may help identify potential health issues such as breast cancer, vascular abnormalities, or musculoskeletal problems.

No Radiation: Unlike X-rays or mammograms, thermography does not involve ionizing radiation. This makes it a safe option for regular screenings, especially for individuals who should minimize radiation exposure.

Risk Assessment: Thermography can be used for risk assessment, especially in breast health. By monitoring thermal patterns over time, it helps identify potential areas of concern and guide further evaluation.

Non-Invasive: The procedure is painless and non-contact, making it comfortable for patients. There's no need for compression or invasive procedures, such as biopsies.

Holistic Health Assessment: Thermography can provide a broader perspective on overall health by detecting irregularities in various regions of the body. It can help identify inflammation, circulation problems, or other issues.

Monitoring Progress: It's a useful tool for monitoring the effectiveness of treatments and lifestyle changes, helping individuals track improvements in their health.

Versatility: Thermography is applicable in various fields, including breast health, vascular medicine, musculoskeletal assessments, and more. It's essential to note that while thermography offers many benefits, it should not be used as a standalone diagnostic tool but rather as a complementary technique to other medical assessments. Consulting with a healthcare professional is crucial and making informed healthcare decisions.

What are some common misconceptions about this technology and service in general?

There are several common misconceptions about thermography and its services:

The most common is that it is a diagnostic Tool. Some people believe that thermography can provide a definitive diagnosis of diseases. Thermography is primarily used for screening, monitoring, and detecting irregularities, but it is not a diagnostic tool in isolation.

Thermography does not provide instant results. People often think that thermography provides instant results. It requires a trained healthcare professional to interpret the images, and results vary from 5-10 business days.

People often ask if it is painful. Thermography is a non-invasive procedure that doesn't involve pain or radiation exposure. Some individuals mistakenly associate it with the discomfort or risks associated with other medical imaging methods.

All Thermography services are the same. Not all thermography services are equal in terms of quality and accuracy. The experience and expertise of the thermography technician, as well as the quality of the equipment used, can vary.

Thermography is not limited. While thermography has a wide range of applications, some people may underestimate its versatility and only associate it with breast health. It can be used for vascular, musculoskeletal, and other health assessments.

We understand that your practice is currently located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley! With that said, it's our understanding that there is also a mobile or pop-up element that you offer with your services, please share!

Our main office is situated in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. I operate as a mobile lab, enabling me to conduct scans at various locations. Currently, I establish a lab at the Healthy Spine Center in Granite Bay, California, on a monthly basis.

Additionally, I offer pop-up services for business owners, providing a unique and appreciated service for their clients.

How often is a preventative thermography scan recommended and why?

The frequency of preventative thermography scans can vary depending on an individual's risk ratings, age, and health status. For breast health screening, it is often recommended to start with an initial baseline thermography scan, followed by annual scans. This frequency allows for the detection of changes in thermal patterns over time.

The interpreting doctor will determine the risk rating between TH1 and TH5. If you are TH1 or 2 then it is recommended to come back in a year. If you are TH3 it is recommended to come back in 6-9months.

If the risk rating is TH4 or 5 you are at high risk, and it is recommended you come back in 3 months.

The frequency of full-body thermography scans can vary widely. It may be recommended as an annual check for overall health or more frequently if there are specific health concerns. Individuals with chronic health conditions may benefit from more frequent thermography scans as part of their ongoing monitoring and treatment evaluation.

The reason for regular thermography scans is to track changes in thermal patterns over time. When performed at regular intervals, it can help identify abnormalities and trends that may indicate potential health issues. Early detection and monitoring of changes in thermal patterns can lead to earlier intervention and a better chance of successful treatment or prevention. It's important to note that the specific recommendations for thermography should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional who can assess an individual's unique health profile and determine the most appropriate screening schedule based on their needs and risk ratings.

Thermography is often used in conjunction with other preventative measures, such as regular screenings, medical exams, and lifestyle choices, to provide a comprehensive approach to health maintenance.
