The start of a New Year is always an opportunity to start over. However, most of us fall off the bandwagon by January 3rd when it comes to our health, fitness, and other ambitious goals we optimistically set for ourselves.

But what about your Social Media Marketing resolutions? These don’t need to fall off the bandwagon with everything else! These are the kind of goals that you can work towards slow & steady throughout the year. Here, you are in it for the long game. Not just to lose a few pounds.

January is also the reset of your financial budgets and kicks off an exciting time for every business. It’s when you’re most excited to hit those big goals you’ve set – so don’t let your Marketing strategies get left behind. Instead, follow these guidelines to ensure that you are setting yourself up for success this year

Begin by giving your profiles a complete refresh. Do an audit of all of your company platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) and make sure that all logos are up to date, headshots are current, and brand messaging is consistent. Make necessary changes to addresses, phone numbers, backlinks, and biography information to ensure that your audience is up to date on all of your information.

Next, audit and refresh your content. What worked for your brand last year, won’t continue working for you for the rest of this year. Review your analytics for the past 12 months and note which type of content got the most likes, engagement, and conversions. Based on these numbers and the type of content that your audience enjoyed most, create new ideas around how you can replicate this content in fresh ways. If you haven’t yet begun to explore all of the features on a platform, start doing that today. This is the best time of the year to get ahead of the curve! If others in your space aren’t doing something, be the first to lead the trend.

On that note, your last pointer is to assess your competition. Once you’ve seen what they’re doing well and not so well, use these as jumping off points for your own brand. Ask yourself – are they keeping up with the trends? Which trends can I make my own in this space? Consider how you can begin to integrate what they do well into your content in new ways with your own unique lens. Once you recognize what you’re able to do differently, jump in and get started – don’t wait.

Kick off 2022 on the right foot with these three Social Media Marketing Resolutions to hit the ground running with momentum this January. With these in place, you’re sure to make a splash.
