Gorgeous, many women don’t want to be visible because they are uncomfortable with their self-image. It’s like being on stage in front of 10,000 people: You cannot fake being confident and delivering a powerful talk. And I agree it is scary. Public speaking ranks among the greatest fears for most people, so your fear is valid.

Some will say, “Feel the fear and do it anyway,” but I believe it goes beyond that. Jack Canfield said: “Everything you want is on the other side of fear”. I couldn't agree more!
What if this fear, once overcome, can open doors that would have never existed?
What if this fear hides a need to inspire, motivate and help more people?
The challenge is, most of the time, like public speaking, we didn’t learn to speak in public; it’s the same with visibility. No one has taught in school how to be visible with authority, agency, and authenticity.
Where can we start? With our perception.
Your perception
Do you have an idea of how people perceive you or how you want to be perceived? More importantly, do you know how you want to be perceived?
Perception shapes reality. Whether you are presenting to your board, engaging stakeholders, or mentoring your team, how you are seen and felt creates a lasting impact.
Let’s have a look at these four elements.
1. Your leadership
Your leadership is essential to your perception because it informs people about how you are, think, and lead your career and life. Your leadership is connected to your values and what matters to you. It’s like your authenticity.
Your authenticity is being loyal to your values regardless of the pressure you’re under to act otherwise. Both are interconnected and feed one another.
The more you develop your leadership and stay committed to your values and vision, the more your authenticity will be visible to people. Invisibility often results from a lack of clarity in your leadership and authenticity.
This element is essential, but from my experience, one pivotal element/characteristic immediately informs the person of your character: your energy.
2. Your energy
Gorgeous; I love this one! Your energy is like your business card. Your words can inspire, motivate or provoke, but your energy is what they will not forget: the way you make them feel.
Like Maya Angelou said: “They may forget about what you say, they may forget about what you did, but they will never forget the way you make them feel”.
To project the right energy, start by managing your internal state. High-energy leadership is about being present and intentional.
3. Your emotional intelligence
If you feel tired, frustrated, angry or holding by a thread because today is not the day, take a break and a deep breath. You’re not an AI robot; you’re a human being, and you must acknowledge your feelings to articulate how you feel.
Emotions are energies in motion. Their role is to be messengers, informing you of how you feel in the present moment so that you can make a new decision.
When you raise your self-awareness, you can develop your emotional intelligence and lead and command your energy to impact your perception.
Emotional intelligence helps you channel your emotions productively rather than letting them overwhelm you and influence how others perceive you.
4. Your confidence
I see confidence as your ability to respond to any challenging situation. When you have a deep knowledge of who you are (no matter what), you’re not afraid to handle difficult people or heated conversations, and you can belong/fit in any room.
When people feel your confidence, they feel you’re a person of character and won’t cave in under pressure. On the contrary, they see that you can stand up for yourself and challenge them, if necessary. Once again, your energy is your business card.
When you’re confident from a place of quiet power, you don’t need to scream, dominate the conversation, or cut off people to be heard. Nor do you need to fake it to make it. Your inner confidence speaks for itself. When you speak, people turn their heads and listen. The key is not to fall into the myth of building confidence but to choose to be confident because you earned it.
Visibility isn’t just about being seen; it’s about being unforgettable. When you master your perception your leadership, energy, emotional intelligence, and confidence you don’t just elevate your career. You become a role model, inspiring others to level up.
