Self-care helps you have a positive relationship with yourself to share your positive emotions with others. What you don't have yourself, you can't give to anyone. Although some may mistake self-care for selfishness, this is far from the case. Self-care is always essential but vital during a time of change!

Self-care is an important daily activity. This will result in a better balance in your professional and personal life. As a result, you'll have a better balance across your wellbeing dimensions and your overall health. It’s essential to be aware of your self-care to practice self-care for better outcomes in your professional and personal life.

How do you create this awareness? Well, ask yourself these three questions:

  • What am I thinking?

  • What am I feeling?

  • What am I physically feeling?

This will bring awareness to your emotional state and create self-awareness for action.

How to practice self-care?

  • Create self-awareness.

  • Take control.

  • Create a routine.

Creating a routine is highlighted because it’s so IMPORTANT! Creating a daily or weekly routine enhances positive emotions, leading to positive outcomes in professional and personal settings. What’s the one activity that makes you feel happy, relaxed, or fulfilled? Is it a morning workout, a morning walk, a morning meditation session, writing, or reading?

Create a routine at the same time every day or same time the week to practice self-care, especially during the time of changes we all are going through.
