Throughout the daunting high school years of students across the world, there is endless pressure placed on teenagers to succeed – whether measured by awards, standardized testing scores, and ultimately, college admissions. Students are pressured to get involved in extracurriculars, volunteering, and even start their own companies to appeal to college admissions officers, potential recruiters, and job employers.

However, finding these opportunities is often difficult. Teenagers spend hours searching for an opportunity through LinkedIn and other social media platforms, which can often be saturated by other postings that don’t involve job recruitment. Especially with LinkedIn, there is often a myriad of posts that highlight job offers of colleagues, college admissions acceptances, accomplishments of those on your network, etc. Finding job postings alone, especially for high school students, can be difficult and time-consuming. Further, even after students find job postings, they often spend additional hours checking the validity of the job, verifying age requirements/location status, time commitments, and more.

Revoteen remedies the difficulties of content-saturated social media platforms and job verification measures with our efficient networking platform. As a start-up app that our high-school team has solely developed, Revoteen is a social networking platform connecting 6000+ students across 70+ countries to 400+ opportunities such as internships and summer programs. The platform can be accessed on mobile through the App Store or Google Play Store, as well as at https://www.revoteen.com/ on a web browser.

On the Revoteen platform, users are able to create their own profiles and posts – showcasing themselves and their passions. Users can also create initiatives, giving a brief summary of their organization and how it helps the community. As they scroll through the app, they come across their feed, reading through opportunities posted by other users. Users are also presented with an explore page, a curated feature, and trending posts—helping users find initiatives specifically suited for them. Finding posts globally, Revoteen enables users to get involved with other initiatives and organizations and build their profiles with work experience. If there is an initiative that users have founded, they have the opportunity to build their organization and find volunteers worldwide. They can build a team, build partnerships, and grow their own passions.

As users begin to create initiatives and post on the app, they also have a chance to build a digital portfolio for years later. On the Revoteen profile page, they are able to put in test scores, accomplishments, and their own interests. Further, they are able to add their education and graduation dates, providing opportunities for professionals to reach out to them. When applying for jobs, they are able to access this digital portfolio for future reference—building their passions as they move through their lives. In the past, students with similar digital portfolios have found other like-minded individuals that have served as colleagues, partners, and friends.

Other features of the Revoteen app include a profile page, messaging feature, an activities page to track users that are most engaged with content, and a suggested users bar—enabling global networking. With Revoteen, students are equipped to build their resumes, and these resumes are easily accessible to find by organization professionals. Similarly, an organization can find partnerships, volunteers, or even other like-minded contributors. Growth is seen almost immediately with Revoteen.

Beyond our platform, Revoteen currently sends a weekly email newsletter to its student base with opportunities to volunteer, intern, and collaborate. Further, Revoteen is active on social media (@Revoteen), where we post for our follower base of 4000+ across Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, FaceBook, and other platforms.

Since 2019, Revoteen has reached 6,000+ people globally through the app and website. Our team consists of high school students from the Bay Area, including my multi-faceted role at the company—from AVID investor to serving as the Vice President of Marketing and leading all marketing interns and specialists at the corporation. The team further includes Aditya Jain, CEO; Manav Bokinala, CTO; Anirudh Krishna, Head of Web Development; Yash Chhatre, Head of App Development; Cailean Fernandes, App Developer; Tejas Polu, Product Manager; and Krish Malik, Software Developer. Under our management, Revoteen has successfully established partnerships with 100+ organizations, including reputable companies such as Crimson Education and UCEazy. Further, Revoteen has been featured in 30+ publications, magazines, and podcasts, including The Independent, ChangemakerZ, The Buffer Project, and more.

Revoteen continues to establish its presence, reaching new students every day. As of now, Revoteen is the leading networking platform for high school students. Download the app on the App Store or Google Play Store, or check us out at https://www.revoteen.com.
