Today, we have the privilege of speaking with Patrick Smith, the CEO of Brain Love Health, Inc. Patrick, thank you for joining us to share your insights about your company's mission and your personal journey. First, could you tell us why you founded Brain Love Health, Inc. and its mission?

Thank you for having me. It's a pleasure to be here. The inspiration behind founding Brain Love Health, Inc. stemmed from a personal experience. I witnessed a close family member struggle with dementia, and it was a heart-wrenching journey. That experience ignited a passion within me to positively impact the lives of individuals and families affected by neurodegenerative diseases. Our mission at Brain Love Health is to shift the focus of dementia prevention from solely the brain to a holistic approach that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. We aim to empower individuals around the world with comprehensive tools and strategies to promote brain health and ultimately reduce the risk of dementia.

It's truly inspiring how a personal experience can drive such meaningful work. Can you share more about what motivates you to dedicate your time, energy, and personal resources to providing dementia prevention programs?

Absolutely. The thought of helping individuals and families avoid the pain and suffering caused by neurodegenerative diseases is what keeps me going. Witnessing the impact of dementia firsthand made me realize the urgent need for a more holistic approach to prevention. Every success story and every life change through our programs fuels my determination to continue this work. Knowing that our efforts are making a difference in people's lives is incredibly rewarding and reinforces our commitment to this cause.

Your dedication is truly commendable. One thing that stands out is your seemingly boundless energy. At the age of 71, you maintain a vibrant presence. Could you share some insights into how you manage to stay so youthful and energetic?

Thank you for your kind words. I believe that maintaining a balanced lifestyle is key. Regular exercise, a nutrient-rich diet, and sufficient sleep are fundamental components. However, what truly keeps me energized is my passion for our mission. When you're driven by a deep sense of purpose, it becomes a powerful source of energy. I also surround myself with a supportive team that shares the same vision and values. Their infectious enthusiasm and dedication contribute to a positive and dynamic environment.

That's a fantastic approach to maintaining vitality. Now, let's talk about your upcoming book, "Dementia Does Not Start in the Brain." Could you give us a sneak peek into this paradigm shift in the prevention of neurological disease and when readers can expect its release?

Certainly! "Dementia Does Not Start in the Brain" challenges the conventional view that neurodegenerative diseases originate solely in the brain. Instead, it presents a comprehensive framework that explores the intricate connections between the mind, body, and lifestyle choices. The book introduces readers to evidence-based strategies that address various aspects of well-being, from cognitive engagement to physical activity, nutrition, social connections, and emotional health. This paradigm shift opens new possibilities for preventing and mitigating neurodegenerative diseases. As for the release date, we're excited to announce that the book will be available in stores and online on October 15th, 2023.

That sounds like a groundbreaking approach that could change the landscape of dementia prevention. We look forward to its release. Thank you, Patrick, for sharing your insights and passion with us today. It's clear that your dedication and innovative thinking are making a significant impact on the field of brain health and dementia prevention.

Thank you for having me. It has been a pleasure.
