Have you ever evaluated your life and noticed that the same negative thought patterns keep popping up?

In my experience helping clients with the 4 F’s (Faith, Family, Finances, and Fitness), I’ve noticed this powerful truth: Many times, on the opposite side of those negative patterns and red flags are the areas of our strongest gifts and opportunities.

For example, maybe you’ve bought into the idea that you’re not good at managing your money. Whereas, if you developed a plan, you might find your financial objectives are not all that far off. Or maybe, pesky pounds have been getting you down for more time than you’d care to admit, but a trainer could customize a program to help you lose weight faster than you ever thought possible.

Henry Ford said, “Most people spend more time and energy going around problems than in trying to solve them.” With that in mind, the question then becomes, what are you going to do?

You don’t have to spend your life in the spin cycle, revisiting the same frustration again and again. But you do have to make a choice if you want change.

Attack problems like an athlete attack a defense. Discover what’s holding you back. Find a way forward. Look for mentors, new perspectives, and coaching to propel you forward.

“We can’t solve problems using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them,” Albert Einstein was quoted as saying.

Remember, oftentimes, the purpose of a goal is not the goal itself. Rather, its pursuit is about who you are becoming. It makes sense then, why your old way of thinking won’t lead you to a new state of being.

What thoughts are you thinking today? Are you taking in and acting on new ideas that line up with your growth process?
