It is possible to have firm, wrinkle-free skin in your 60s, no matter what genes you were born with. The science of Epigenetics demonstrates that we can turn our genes on and off by altering our internal chemistry. This can be achieved through specific forms of meditation and a topical skin diet of plant medicine containing compounds that stimulate cellular regeneration, both of which I teach my clients. Goodbye, surgical facelifts and fillers. Hello, ancient, effective, and practical wisdom! For a free deep dive into this topic, watch Episode 1 in my Earth Medicine Series “The Science of Plant Oil”

What is plant medicine?
Plants do an elegant job converting sunlight into food and medicine. Each plant produces 100s and even 1,000s of chemicals. Some are used for primary functions like growth and reproduction, and the rest are used for communicating. These communication chemicals, also called secondary metabolites, are recognized by the human body as medicine. They contain nutrients and compounds that stimulate skin regeneration and are most easily absorbed as botanical oils.
Many languages of plants
Multiple forms of plant medicine have been discovered and studied. These other languages are vibrational. One is sound in the infrasonic and ultrasonic frequency ranges, and the other is electromagnetic. Our bodies respond to and read vibrational language as emotions. These are usually accessed by working with a shaman or through specific forms of meditation to heal emotional traumas. The Science of attuning with these frequencies is laid out in the quantum physics principle of Quantum Entraining. Now, back to Plant Medicine for Skin!
Ancient wisdom for a modern face lift?
Every person can regenerate the organ of their skin at any age. You just need to know where to focus and what to work with! Botanical oils have been used to heal and regenerate skin for thousands of years, so why aren’t we taught this in Western culture? The answer is that Western culture has been busy developing the science of drugs and medical technology, greatly expanding our abilities to save lives in emergencies. In all the progress, we have overlooked our medical roots, literally!
Plants, the origin of all medication
Drug companies can’t patent life. In this case, the “life” is the plant compound, so they synthetically replicate a plant chemical in isolation from the family of chemicals the plant produces. The natural state of these compounds is nested within a family of chemicals. Why does this matter for skin care?
Skin care, drug vs. plant
An example of the difference between botanical oil and its synthetic equivalent drug is Tretinoin and Retina A Creams, which are isolated synthetic forms of Vitamin A. Because the chemical is not delivered with the suite of other compounds produced in nature that can curb negative effects, they have side effects like sensitivity to sunburn and touch. Natural Vitamin A is abundant in fresh pressed Carrot Juice and cold-pressed Carrot seed oil. Both deliver more vitamin A plus, beta-carotene, a natural SPF 30, tocopherols, and Vitamin E, which soothes skin sensitivity. I offer a face masking master class that teaches every nutrient your skin needs, what they do, and how to apply them.
Are botanical oils more effective than fillers?
Yup! Collagen, elastin, and all parts of the skin need particular nutrient diets to maintain, correct damage, and regenerate. If you feed your skin what it needs to regenerate, it will. Want proof? Check out a few examples of my clients' 90-day progress pictures showing diminished and, in many cases, complete reversal and disappearance of fine lines and even deep wrinkles.
Sound like magic? It’s science
The science of epigenetics shows that we can control our genes to a large degree by governing our internal chemistry and environment. Emotions are a measurable, controllable factor in the aging process. They govern our internal chemistry. Our brain produces various chemical cocktails that we experience as emotions. Negative emotions are chemicals that, for the most part, degrade our system, and positive emotions aid. They both play necessary roles in our emotional growth. Our ability to guide them plays a large role in aging.
Six controllable aging factors
The first three you’ve probably heard about your whole life are proper diet (food as medicine), hydration, and good rest. The other three aren’t typically taught and are every bit as important. Especially for those of us over 30! Our culture tells us that aging skin due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin is a part of life. This is only part of the story. We can affect the rate of breakdown to a larger degree than we have traditionally been led to believe. The science of Epigenetics shows us that DNA is malleable. How? You guessed it: Electromagnetics (emotions) and topical nutrients (botanical oils) can create life-supporting, cellularly regenerative internal chemistry for your skin. Here’s how.
4th factor: Internal chemistry
Stimulating your Pituitary and Hypothalamus glands through heart-brain coherence produces 1,300 biochemical reactions containing anti-aging hormones and healing chemicals that are delivered in the bloodstream and repair for 6 hours. This is achieved with a few minutes a day of specific meditation techniques; one is the heart-brain Coherence technique. I offer Heart-Brain Coherence meditations on my YouTube Channel. 30-minute Heart-Brain with 528 Hz Solfeggio Frequency and a 10-minute with 40 Hz. Harvard studies show with MRI scans that 30 days of specific daily meditation produces hundreds of improved health factors, including the organ of the skin. For a comprehensive program to develop the skill of moving energy through your body to cellularly regenerate, I offer a meditation master class.
5th factor: Muscle loss
We move our facial and neck muscles in compression patterns specific to our personalities. This doesn’t work out the muscle completely, and, over time, parts of the muscle will atrophy. Facial exercises, commonly called face yoga, work the whole muscle out, creating a firm base for our skin. Without firm muscle, even the tightest skin will sag. I offer a complete face yoga master class. Firm muscles reverse years of sagging skin.
6th factor: Topical nutrients
Even with a good diet, it is hard to get the targeted nutrients the skin needs to repair itself. Our ability to absorb nutrients through the skin is called percutaneous absorption. Not only do botanical oils contain all the vitamins and minerals the skin needs, but they also contain chemicals that stimulate cellular regeneration. You can regenerate collagen, elastin, lipids, and all the elements of the skin to erase years, even decades of age. I offer custom botanical blends with the 90-day skin transformation journey package.
How the organ of the skin works
The skin has three layers, topped with a fourth layer called the cuticle. The cuticle is dead skin cells offering protection from the environment. Our skin absorbs and uses about 65% of the nutrients we put on it and shares the rest with the body through the blood. Not all nutrients are absorbed. This is why almost all skin care products on the market don’t create lasting regenerative change.
Epidermis (waterproof!?)
The Epidermis is the top layer where our sensory receptors are and our surface-facing immune system. When something is on our skin, in this case, botanical oils, this layer sends chemical messages to the brain, identifying the nutrients. The epidermis also creates and maintains our keratin and lipid layer, making the skin waterproof. This waterproof layer is the exact reason why drugstore and high-end water-based wrinkle creams don’t create regenerative or lasting change. They cannot penetrate through the barrier to feed the dermis.
Dermis (where the party’s at!)
Our collagen, elastin, hair, and sebum are created in the dermis. Collagen gives skin its firmness; elastin holds the collagen in place. Sebum is our natural oil that moisturizes. Each element requires a specific nutrient diet to regenerate and maintain itself. Botanical oils are fat soluble, which means they can pass through the waterproof barrier and deliver nutrients to aid in skin regeneration exactly where they are needed.
Subdermal (plump is youthful)
The subdermal layer is where we have a healthy fat layer, giving skin its plumpness and ability to dampen impacts, protecting us from injury. Omega fatty acids keep these cell walls supple and healthy, allowing water, oxygen, and nutrients to flow in and out of each cell, delivering what they need.
How do plant oils regenerate skin?
Think of plant oils as multi-vitamin and nutrient supplements. Just like a healthy diet increases our health, so does a topical plant oil diet increase skin health. There are a few hundred types of plant oils readily available, all containing a unique nutrient profile. Lots of plants offer compounds that excite cellular regeneration in addition to the raw nutrient building blocks the skin needs to not only repair itself but also repair damaged DNA so that each cell can then replicate as a healthy one. Skin cells turn over every 27 to 30 days. This is why it only takes two or three months to see dramatic changes. I have before and after pictures on my website showing 30 to 90-day results that are better than fillers and minor facelift surgeries at a fraction of the cost.
Types of plant oils & when to use them
There are four types of botanical oils on the market.
Essential oil (steam distilled)
These oils are created through the distillation process. The high heat reduces all the nutrients down to the few most heat-tolerant, making the resulting oil incredibly potent. Most essential oils, but not all, must be mixed with a carrier oil before massaging into the skin to avoid burning and redness. They are fat-soluble and easily pass into the dermis in less than a minute.
Carrier oil (cold pressed)
Cold-pressed oils are just that: cold-pressed. Because there aren’t high temperatures involved, the oil contains all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients of the plant. They also are not as potent as essential oils because they are not a reduction. Carrier oils are generally stone fruits, grains, seeds, legumes, and other hard, nutrient-dense parts of the plant. They are fat soluble and travel to the dermis and beyond with ease.
Hydrosols
Hydrosols are also from the distillation process. It contains more delicate nutrients from the plant that imprint on the water vapor and are separated before the essential oil is created. Hydrosols contain some fat-soluble nutrients but not many. They are, for the most part, water-soluble. They will hydrate and nourish the top layer of skin but won’t be able to penetrate to make any regenerative change.
Infusions & extracts
Infusions are made by selecting a plant for its nutrient and medicinal profile and immersing it in a carrier oil for a few weeks until the medicine and nutrients have been infused with the carrier oil. The plant matter is then strained out. Jojoba is the most used oil because it is closest in chemical profile to our natural oil called sebum. Extracts are made with the same process, but instead of carrier oil, the plant matter is immersed in a solvent like glycerin or alcohol. Witch Hazel is a good example.
What to know and where to find them
Not all plant oils are made equal! The market is flooded with synthetics and oils that have contaminants in them. Third-party testing is critical! If you buy an oil that states “pure and natural,” that legally does not mean that the oil is not synthetic and toxin-free. Remember, fat-soluble oils get into the bloodstream, so we must be very careful. To make things easy, I have reviewed the third-party testing for both essential and carrier oils with links to Amazon on my website. For Essential Oils, click here. If there is an oil that I cannot find third-party testing for, it will be indicated with a note “searching for clean source.” For Carrier Oils, click here. This service costs you nothing. I receive a very small commission from Amazon, so it is a small way you can support me and my research to help me support you! If you see an oil missing and know of a clean, third-party-tested source, please email me and let me know!
