Is your Tomorrow Achievable? In a simpler way, it can be achieved. Though, it’s easier said than done. We have all been there. We create a thought and tell ourselves we shall start on a project today or we shall look for a job. And when the time comes to putting it into action, we surpass by not doing anything at all.

Why?

At this moment in time, our mind is overburdened with so much choice and commitments that you could say our daily life has no room to consume anything else. Instead, we start to procrastinate due to fear of failure.

We start to build a wall around us by bringing in obstacles and making it more difficult to stay focused. Our attention span shortens which results in us being unable to act upon the things that give us that fulfilment in life.

What?

What is it that stops you in your tracks to have that quality of life you have always wanted to achieve?

Is it a lack of clarity and not knowing how to proceed, are you overwhelmed with life itself and feel you are disconnected emotionally? Ask yourself what it is.

You may find that our brain is constantly filled with immense knowledge daily, yet we choose to select the easy tasks which are a no-brainer. Yet anything that requires an investment of time and effort we tend to overlook it and push it aside. We need to focus and think practically to get the desired result.

How?

Firstly we need to look at every aspect of our life and be clear on what it is we want. This will give us clarity and encouragement. When you are sure of what you want and the direction you choose to take, you can start to picture your life. By gaining power within yourself you will sense and feel the things that once felt out of control are now in your grip.

When?

By taking action, we push ourselves out of our comfort zone and create the quality of life we deserve and desire. A strategy for overcoming procrastination is to break your tasks and goals into a manageable time scale. Setting goals for the day, week or month can be exciting at the time, however, when you come to implementing it, this is where the test comes. Viewing the tasks can be separated into working 1 or 2 hours a day and if the task is not completed continue it the next day. You may find however your ideas forming quickly making you want to continue the goal. By focusing on the small tasks makes your goal more achievable and believable.

One of the powerful ways to overcome procrastination is to write down the task and take immediate action. The same way you realise you need to do a weekly shop and then rush out to purchase these items is the same mindset you need when completing your goals and tasks.

Another way is to list all the things that need to be done or create a flowchart to get the end result. And then look at what you can do immediately or whether some tasks can be done alongside each other. Remember doing a bit of the task every day will help you feel more accomplished even if you start with 30 minutes a day.

Create some momentum before you start on your task. Go for a run, build up that adrenaline, dance to your favourite music and you will find your brain will start creating ideas and you will be driven to take the next step. There is no right or wrong on how you achieve the tasks or goals. Work in any order as you wish. No need to be perfect. Enjoy what you do with it, go on.

The sooner you start, it will help you be one step closer to your dreams and goals.
