My mom is 85 years old and she had 4 spots of skin cancer. Two on her forehead and two on her shoulders about the size of a half-dollar. After two dermatologists recommended that we don't do anything, the surgery to cut out the cancer would be more damaging to her than the benefit of taking it out. Surgery is the primary treatment for most skin cancers. For patients with basal cell or squamous cell carcinomas, a dermatologist or other qualified doctor may perform an outpatient procedure using a local anesthetic. After 2 years of watching the skin cancer getting worse, I scheduled an appointment With Dr Glazer of Glazer Dermatology in Arlington Heights IL.
He recommended a topical treatment that he had developed and patented called ActinexRX. We were told that the wounds would get very red and scab over. Which is exactly what happened but the shocking part is after 10 days the skin looked almost perfect as if there was never any cancer there in the 1 st place. This is the best non-surgical treatment that I have found after 2 years of searching. One of the most impressive attributes of this treatment is that it can treat pre-cancerous conditions which based on my research is the only product in the world that treats precancerous conditions. This can help 10s of millions of people before they get cancer opposed to just treating the skin after cancer has taken hold.
Here are some examples on the different kinds of non-melanoma skin cancer and treatments.
Basal Cell Carcinoma:
This cancer typically appears as a white waxy lump or a brown scaly patch on sun-exposed areas of the skin. Basal cells produce new skin cells as old ones die. Limiting your sun exposure can help prevent these cells from becoming cancerous. Treatments include prescription creams or surgery to remove cancer.
Actinic Keratosis:
This pre-cancer condition causes rough, scaly skin patches. Left untreated, AK can lead to a skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. The best way to prevent AK is to protect yourself from sun damage. AK treatment can be removed by freezing them with liquid nitrogen
Squamous Cell Carcinoma Actinic Keratosis:
This cancer is a common, treatable form of skin cancer. Too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning lamps is a cause. It can appear as a lump, ulcer, or scaly patch on the skin. Treatments include topical medication and minor surgery.
ActinexRX Highlights:
No competing topical treatments for these conditions
Treats precancerous and post cancerous conditions
Little to no scarring
Significantly less expensive
Clinical data shows 70-80% effective
Over 5,000 patients treated to date
Research & Development:
In 2018, Dr. Glazer submitted a research IND to explore the effects of a compounded topical cream mixture he has developed, Actinex™, which comprises 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU; 2.5%), diclofenac (3%), and calcipotriene (0.005%), on basal and squamous cell cancers. Based on positive results from his initial trial, Dr. Glazer is considering further development of Actinex™ under a commercial IND. This submission is to request preliminary Breakthrough Therapy Designation Request (BTDR) Advice for Actinex™ as a treatment for superficial (cutaneous) squamous cell carcinoma (sSCC).
Non-melanoma skin cancers, also called keratinocyte carcinomas (KCs), include basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Together, BCC and SCC represent an estimated 5.4 million diagnoses in the United States annually, with SCC occurring less frequently than BCC . Nevertheless, sSCC is the second most common cancer in the United States, with an excess of 200,000 new cases, and an estimated 8,000 cases of nodal metastasis and 3,000 deaths each year . Superficial SCC occasionally originates from precancerous lesions actinic keratoses and accounts for the majority of patient deaths from non-melanoma skin cancers.
The most common treatments for cutaneous KCs are surgical interventions to remove the lesion, including excisional surgery and Mohs surgery. Although these treatments have high cure rates, they result in physical and emotional scars. Additional treatments such as electrodessication, radiation therapy, cryosurgery and photodynamic therapy, aim to destroy the tumor tissue in superficial lesions. These methods can result in pain, swelling, and scarring. Overall, these treatments can result in disfigurement that adversely impacts patients’ quality of life. Oral (systemic) treatments are generally only considered for patients with more advanced BCC and SCC.
At the end of the day this patented topical treatment ActinexRX has proven to be significantly more effectivitive, less cost and non-invasive leaving little to no scarring . Which we believe will lead to mass adoption for pre and post Non-melanoma skin cancers. With the epidemic of skin cancers that are happening it is a big relief that there is a solution that doesn't require surgery or aggressively assaulting the skin.
