It isn’t until you consciously stop and look back that you realize your growth. Pushing on and constantly focusing on the next thing, what you "should" be doing, creates change but can also create stress.
A feeling of you never finish anything. Here are my key insights as an online business owner: Things take time.
Often much longer than expected.
It means your planning often falls apart, and you find yourself trying to catch up instead of being proactive.
Limiting thoughts, as you are inadequate or unfocused, can easily creep in. Therefore, it is wise to be aware of this and add 20% more time to what you plan to do and accept the situation. Friends, family, and acquaintances are not as enthusiastic about your projects as you are.
And that's totally fine. It's your dream, your vision, and your goals. Not theirs.
Let go of the idea that they must support and cheer you on in every situation and do this for yourself and your target group instead.
You will find people cheering you on online. They are your tribe. There are downsides to taking up space in online feeds.
You are visible and become public in a completely different way than if you only create content for those closest to you. And unfortunately, some people think they can behave and write anything to public figures.
Trolls, hate, and generally painful comments can be challenging to cope with, but remember you control your feed and digital workplace – delete them if necessary. These people have no right to desecrate your online business.
The scalability is enormous.
You can, with the right strategies, goals, and work effort, reach millions of people. It is incomparable to a monthly salary.
When you have an automated funnel, digital products or services and utilize the time factor, you stop trading time for money.
It can be an incredible catalyst but also a stress aspect, which leads to the next point. There is always something to do.
Constantly thinking, "I should be doing this or that instead of sitting here watching Netflix" is something I'm still working on.
There are always content to create, photos to take, blog texts to write, statistics to analyze, freebies to develop, and website to update.
It's a constant challenge to find a balance between work and time off.
Set up some rules that are important to you, and remember that our lives cannot only consist of work. It goes faster if you use paid ads to complement organic traffic.
I often see people who claim that they have built everything without a penny in advertising. That may be true, I don't know.
What I do know, however, is that as an entrepreneur, you don't have time to rely only on organic growth. Advertising can and will be a much-needed supplement to your change. For many large companies we look up to, paid advertising is a given factor in the game. But as small business owners, we should grow entirely organically? It doesn't make sense to me. You can create growth even with a small budget. There are always those who will stay being free-eaters.
And that's absolutely fine. You will always have people following you who only want to save your tips, get inspired by your methods, and learn from your insights, as long as they are free. My philosophy is always to deliver significant value in my free stuff because I know how much bigger steps and knowledge shifts customers get in my paid offers.
There is a major difference between free and paid, even when the free material gives you a considerable amount. Thinking will get you nowhere. Doing will.
It's easy to get stuck in the mindset of "I'll just take this course first, then I'll be ready".
I love to learn things and buy at least one major course or mentorship every year. But I don't stop there.
For every training I have purchased, I then take steps and immediately implement what I have learned.
I have done enoughThinking instead of Doing in my life. Not anymore.
Continuously working with your mindset and realizing the possibilities instead of focusing on the obstacles is an ongoing work in progress.
We have to fight limiting beliefs and opinions from our immediate surroundings. But it is fully doable.
I like the famous quote, "If you knew you couldn't fail, what would you do?"
So what's stopping you?
