The 1st metabolic health conference, October 2023
The journey that was dreamt of in 2017 by Anup Singh & Shashikant Iyengar was fulfilled in October 2023 with the first Metabolic Health Conference held in India. This initial event was historic, co-organized by Shashikant Iyengar and Anup Singh. The 1st Metabolic Health Conference of India, titled "Low Carb Across the Globe," marks a monumental step in promoting low-carb nutrition in India. This event attracted an international lineup of distinguished doctors and low-carb advocates. Leading global experts & Indian low-carb supporters such as Dr Eric Westman, Dr David Unwin, and Dr Shawn Baker, Dr Roshani Sanghani, Dr Prof Tim Noakes, Dr Ken Berry, etc., brought their extensive knowledge to the stage, sharing valuable insights on metabolic health management through low-carb and ketogenic diets. Representatives from key low-carb organisations, including The Nutrition Network, Low Carb USA, and The SMHP also participated, emphasising the science and global successes behind carbohydrate restriction for improved metabolic health. Attendees from over 15 countries witnessed in-depth discussions on managing diabetes, Obesity, and other metabolic disorders with low-carb diets. The conference ran for 12 hours non-stop all 3 days making it a sort of global record in the low-carb space.
It was lead hosted by Ira Sahay the carnivore from India. The conference set a new standard for low-carb education in India, establishing a collaborative environment for both professionals and the public to understand the immense potential of low-carb nutrition in combating chronic disease.
The 2nd conference in April 2024
Encouraged by the success of the first conference, the organizers moved swiftly to bring about a follow-up event in April 2024. The 2nd Metabolic Health Conference, known as was a significant event aimed at exploring metabolic therapies for various health conditions. Held in 2024, this conference brought together a diverse group of global and local experts, including doctors, scientists, and researchers. The focus was on discussing innovative approaches to manage disorders like mental health issues, neurological conditions, chronic kidney disease (CKD), Autoimmune disorders, diabetes and cancers through metabolic interventions.
