Exclusive interview with Business Analysis Consultant & Career Coach Eno Eka

Who is Eno?
Thank you for this question. I was born in Lagos, Nigeria and lived in Lagos till I relocated to Canada in 2018. I am the first girl of four children and had to take on the responsibility of taking care of my siblings as the first girl.
I love numbers and studied accounting at the University, after practicing accounting for a while, I decided to transition into the Project Management & Business Analysis career path. My experience spans across Construction, Oil & Gas, Banking, Finance and Technology industries.
When I moved to Canada in 2018, I moved here without any family and had to face the struggles of relocation all by myself. I lost my bags on arrival to Canada and had to start from zero. I was able to get a job in 2 weeks of arriving in Canada and have grown in my professional career since then.
I now own my own consulting company, Eny Consulting Inc, where I am helping professionals grow in their careers as Business Analysts and Agile Project Managers and helping companies grow their revenues to six figures and above.
I also love volunteering with immigrant communities here in Canada. When I am not teaching, I am reading a book, cooking or spending time with loved ones.
What are some of your major accomplishments?
Hmm... I must confess that I do have quite a number under my belt but first, let me tell you about what I do and why I have a lot of accomplishments.
I am an award-winning Coach and Mentor, and I have been recognized for helping immigrants kickstart their professional careers & businesses in Canada.
In 3 years of arriving in Canada, I have touched the lives of thousands of immigrants to Canada.
How did I do this? I curated mentorship and coaching programs for immigrants to Canada, which have sought recognition & awards globally.
I love to serve others and I volunteer with several non-profit organizations such as Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council & Immigrant Services Calgary to help immigrants to Canada integrate successfully and become gainfully employed.
I am also a Women In Need Society Giving Back Challenge Sponsor. Through my donations they are able to work with thousands of women and their families every year - women fleeing domestic violence, single mothers and their children, and newcomers to Canada.
I am also a sponsor and elevator for the FemImmiGRANTS Initiative, where I contribute annually to the pool of grants for female immigrant entrepreneurs.
The grant is made up of Elevator’s contributions and is pooled together and then given out in the form of 0% interest, Non-payable grants to women-led Start-up ventures in order to help such scale their business a little higher to the next level of growth.
I am deeply passionate about contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals 4,5,8 & 10, which are Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work & Economic Growth and Reduced Inequalities.
Through the work that I do, I have helped over 5000 immigrants kick start their careers and become more fulfilled. The average annual income of my mentees is $80,000 CAD.
I have played an integral part in the digital technology space in Calgary where I was a Business Analyst Specialist leading one of the teams in the UNIFI project.
This project is a merger of the banking systems for 4 large credit union divisions in Alberta under the Connect First Credit Union Family- First Calgary Credit Union, Mountain View, Legacy and Chinook Credit Union and has been nominated as Project of the Year by PMI Manitoba.. woohoo!!!
This project was initiated to provide a unified banking system to serve its 120,000 members in 42 branches across central and southern Alberta through its First Calgary Financial, Legacy Financial, Chinook Financial, and Mountain View Financial divisions. Connect First is Canada’s 7th largest credit union, with over $5.4 billion in assets. With a staff strength of over 700 Albertans, serving 120,000 members through 42 branches.
This is definitely one of my proudest accomplishments this year.
