Worship is not merely an act of our lips but a declaration of our hearts, a symphony of love, transforming ordinary moments into spiritual encounters that elevate our spirits and strengthen our relationship with God.

How do you connect with God?

Worship is primarily seen as a means to connect with God, inspiring a personal relationship often described as providing guidance, comfort, and a sense of presence.

It was an experience like never before with no one there. The young lady lifted her hands to heaven and sang praises to God. As the tears rolled down her cheeks and the melody filled the room, once feeling depressed and lonely, she now felt alive and free.

The Lord created for her a calm, peaceful, and joyful space through her worship. Looking over her life, she was excited to worship Him for what He had done, but that was not enough. She wanted to touch the heart of God, so she closed her eyes and began to sing sweet melodies, not for what God had done, but for who God was. On that day, she learned a life-changing lesson: the proper way to worship.

Expression of gratitude and devotion

Through worship individuals express gratitude for the blessing they have received and demonstrate their devotion to God. This can involve acts of praise, thanksgiving, and offering with acknowledgement of God’s sovereignty.

So let’s take a moment and get honest. Have you become selfish with your worship? Limiting it to a Sunday morning experience? Worshiping based on how you feel and what God has done for you? We’ve all probably fallen short at this, and some may have yet to experience worshiping God. Now ask yourself, What kind of worship does God deserve from me? He deserves just because of worship. He is God!

Spiritual growth and maturity

Regular worship is believed to aid spiritual growth. It encourages reflection, repentance and seeking forgiveness for personal transformation. Worship can lead to deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship with God. In worship, you are not asking God for anything; you are giving back to God what He deserves from you. This type of worship is not based on conditions or feelings.

When we think of worship in these terms, it’s an individual experience in which every individual can participate and enjoy. We all take different paths in life, which may cause struggles and pain. Therefore, if we decide to worship God based on how we feel and what we receive, then we have missed the mark for true worship.

Understanding worship as an intimate time with God. In doing this, we put him above all things and surrender ourselves to Him. When you worship, not only does it get God's attention, but it also brings you into His presence. In the presence of the Lord, there is fullness of joy. You feel a complete closeness with God may bring some crying, smiling, laughing, peace, and joy.

Source of hope and resilience

In times of trouble, worship can serve as a source of hope and resilience. Turning to worship during challenges can provide strength and a reminder of the bigger picture beyond current struggles. Things change for you when you come into God’s presence. He turns around the dark places in your life. Life-changing events take place outside of worship. Miracles and blessings are sent your way.

As women, we want to touch the heart of God when we worship Him. If you have ever questioned your purpose in life or are still trying to figure it out,one thing is for sure, we were created to worship Him. If you do anything right now, give God your best worship.

Psalms 95:1-6 “ O come, let us sing unto the Lord: make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. The Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods. In His hands are the earth's deep places; the hills' strength is his also. The sea is his; he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: kneel before the Lord our maker.”

Worship often occurs in communal settings, which helps build a sense of community among those worshiping together. The worship together provides support and strengthens bonds creating a network of mutual care and accountability. Words cannot express the feeling worship brings. It’s something one has to experience and the beauty when it's done in community. God has called us to be (WOW) Women of Worship.

Fulfilling God’s will

Engaging in Worship is an act of obedience and fulfillment of God’s will. So let’s take the challenge, ladies...let’s experience something extraordinary. Set aside time to worship God daily just because you worship the Lord. In addition to enjoying this experience for yourself, spread the word to other women. It’s time to come back to worship, or if you’ve been worshiping, take your worship to another level.

For there are higher heights and deeper depths in God. It will touch the heart of God. Overall, worship is not just a ritualistic practice but a profound component of spiritual life that has enduring effects on personal development, community strength and ethical living.
