Awareness is everything. We can’t change anything if we’re not aware of it in the first place. Sometimes awareness can cause heartbreak, confusion, and shame, and can result in a desire to go back into the cave of being unaware. However, when we become aware of our patterns, and how we are operating in the world, it can be enlightening to know that we have the power to change our circumstances.
There’s a very specific order of changing things though, and most of us are oblivious to what that order is. Without an understanding of the six stages of transformation, it’s nearly impossible to create lasting change. We try to skip over the steps, take shortcuts, or better yet, try to control and manipulate our situation through sheer willpower.
In my experience, that hasn’t worked out so well.
There’s an easier way. A simpler way. One of my favorite quotes from my mentor and conscious channel, Joy and Jonah has been, ‘Complication is not the way of the Universe.’ That quote has stuck with me over the years as I’ve obsessively learned everything I can about the Universal Law of Divine Timing.
Step One: Awareness
Transformation, evolution, and change aren’t linear, and we are constantly cycling through these stages. For the purpose of explanation, we choose a starting point. We begin with awareness. In awareness, we are often caught in confusion or curiosity. We’ve recognized that there is something we’d like to change, something we’re not in love with in our lives, or there’s potentially something new we’d like to experience. Awareness can show up in many different shapes and sizes.
It is common to be extremely curious during the Awareness stage, and yet still be confused and not sure which direction to take. It can feel like there are a million options to choose from and concern might rise up over deciding the wrong thing. Awareness is meant to be savored and enjoyed for a time. It is not meant for action or the doing of things. It is a time of sitting on the patio, reflecting, thinking, and dreaming about what’s possible. Most of us try to skip this stage because we feel like we should be doing something instead of sitting around doing nothing. What we don’t understand is that we are doing so much, it just happens to be happening in the unseen world.
Step Two: Acceptance of What Is, and What Will Be
This is the stage that almost everyone tries to skip over. When we’re in awareness we come to the conclusion that there is something we want that we don’t have, and we come into this stage of acceptance and would prefer to just get into action, doing something in the material world to make it happen. For example, if we become aware that we don’t have the funds for something we want to experience, we jump right to the conclusion that we must sell more, produce more, work harder, or somehow sacrifice ourselves for this experience we wish to have.
There is a simpler path. It might not feel like an easy path in the beginning, but embracing this step is crucial to lasting results. Acceptance requires us to feel our feelings, to acknowledge what is, and to come into the emotional state of experiencing the thing we want before it ever arrives. Continuing with our financial example, we might think we don’t have the money, and so we jump right into the action, but that action is driven by fear, lack, and a desire to control. Instead, if we pause for a moment, a day, a week, and forgive ourselves for ever believing that we could not have what we want, accept what our current situation actually is, and then feel what it would feel like to experience paying for the desired outcome in cash, we can make the action steps much easier.
Step Three: Self-Responsibility
Time has been spent in the emotional and feeling state of the experience you desire, and now it’s time for action right?! Not yet. Again, we like to skip over this stage too. We, humans, believe that the material world is all there is, and forget that we’ve got the support of the whole Universe. Or, we carry the belief that if the Universe wants us to experience it, the outcome will occur. Sorry folks, that’s just not how it works.
We must decide, at the core of our being, that we will have the thing, the experience, the desired outcome. We must choose it. We are in co-creation with the Universe, not at its whim of it. If we flit about at the whim of the Universe, things get very, very messy. So what does a decision look like? It is a feeling, deep down inside your heart, that knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that you will experience what you want. It is as simple as deciding what you will eat for dinner.
Step Four: Activation
Now we can take action! Now that we’ve created the info-feeling state of what we want, and made a decision that we will experience it, it’s time to get into gear. What will trip us up here is the idea that we are in control of what’s happening, and that we don’t have this Universal partnership. We forget the powerhouse partner we have in the unseen world and think we have to do it all ourselves. We map out a plan, and get to work, forgetting to leave space for inspiration and possibilities.
As a recovered project manager, I can attest to how these plans never actually go to plan. I can attest to how hard it is to try to manage and control it all from a material perspective. It is crucial to leave space for inspiration and to trust the nudge when given an action step that doesn’t seem to make any sense. It is never our job to know all of the how when it comes to experiencing something new. If we know all the how’s then we’re simply recreating our past, and not creating our future. This is a time for inspired action only.
Step Five: Acceleration
Momentum. The thing we’ve been waiting for! This is when things start moving quickly, and it feels like it’s all happening at once. The synchronicities are showing up all around us, and things feel amazing. We are forgetting things on the list, trusting the inspired action, and wondering if we can get it all done. It feels as if someone just poured a bunch of fuel on our inner fire.
Fear can rise up here. Fear of when it will occur. Fear of when we’ll see results. Fear that we won’t be able to manage it all. During this time, our only job is to focus. Focus on the info-feeling state that got us here in the first place, and focus on the decision that we made. It is time to put our blinders on and shut out the noise from the outside world. It is a time for deep gratitude for the inspiration and the momentum, and it is a time to keep moving forward.
Step Six: Transmutation
There comes a time during your momentum where it all of a sudden feels like someone took the foot off the gas. Perhaps you’ve been working 12 hours days and working like mad, only to notice that all of a sudden you’re sleeping through your alarm, and feeling less motivated to get to it every morning. You’re beginning to transmute. The change is here now. This is a time of surrender and grace.
Transmutation isn’t easy to wrap the mind around. We love momentum so much that it can be hard to recognize that slowing down is a natural part of the process. If we don’t allow the transmutation to occur, we don’t see the results. We don’t experience the thing we set out to experience. We end up frustrated and concerned about what we might have done wrong. It’s a time to let go and let God, and trust in the cycle.
How To Leverage This Law
These six stages of transformation seem simple enough and yet can take years of practice to truly live and understand. Our minds have been programmed to think differently, and so we must spend time deprogramming and then embracing this more natural process. This is what we teach in Mastering the BrainGAME™ ‒ a unique and proprietary process for leveraging the Law of Divine Timing. I invite you to book a free 30-minute call with me to learn more.
