We all live in this fast pace world where it becomes quite challenging to step away from “urgency” and the need to be “in the loop,” “not to miss anything.” We are so caught up in it all that so often, the world takes over and controls us. It totally sucks us in the “busyness” to the point when it becomes a total norm to work until exhaustion only to keep up with “everything” and, in the worst-case scenario, even feel worthy of success. But there is good news: it doesn’t have to be that way! Let me show you how to create more ease and flow without sacrificing the business success you have already created for yourself.
“Busy” is one of the most common words people use when asked, “How are you?”. Interesting that we condition ourselves into thinking that it makes us look “hard-working.” So often, we are simply scared of working less because we all know that without hard work, there is very little to no success, right? WRONG!
In your working day, you are not achieving more by being busy. All you do is filling your day with actions that do not bring you closer to your goals. And we even do it unconsciously so that we feel deserving of the reward that we give ourselves at the end of the day or deserving of success. We believed that the harder we work, the more money we will make, the more successful we will become. To get out of this self-sabotaging mindset, there are a couple of real actions you can take because there’s a big difference between being busy and taking productive action, working hard and working smart, taking massive action, and taking productive action.
We trick ourselves into doing more work, thinking that it will bring us to our goals faster. In reality, all we are doing is creating busyness for ourselves. We fill 8h because we have 8h to fill (https://agneserudzate.com/9-5-illusion/). But could you achieve the same results if you only had 4h? And I say it with confidence when I say that you absolutely can! Yes, it takes time at first, yes it takes commitment, yes it takes changes in your daily routine, changes in your habits and mindset. But don’t let anyone who tells you that you can’t have it all (time and money) to get in your way, to love your vibration, to distract your from your path, to love your motivation and excitement.
1. Take charge.
You are the boss of yourself, of your mind, of your thoughts, habits, motivation, and all the other things necessary to scale. Don’t let people who don't fully understand what you're doing, because they're not you, to bring you down. And if they do, remember that you are in charge. You have a choice. You choose how you want to proceed from there. Schedule tasks that don't waste your time and create “busyness”; instead, take charge of your calendar and schedule productive action that will lead you closer to your goals. It’s not always easy to adopt a new habit and roll with it. It takes time to get used to it and for you to really see tangible results. But there are definitely effective ways to become more aware of your priorities, to put things into perspective, and to be able to take more productive action.
2. Answer 2 questions.
It's so simple that anyone can easily remember them throughout the day. When you’re feeling fading away into time waste, distractions and creating that “busyness” for yourself, ask this:
A. If I only accomplish this one task today, will I be satisfied with my day? This is such a powerful question to immediately prioritize your priorities and focus more on your zone of genius instead of other tasks that can be delegated, outsourced, automated. If the answer to this question is NO, reevaluate this specific task, action, process - why is it in your schedule? Why is it important to complete it now, today, this week, ever?
B. Am I being productive or just active? Are you filling your time with tasks to make you feel as though you have done something, achieved something, worked hard? Are you filling your day with unimportant tasks that don’t bring better results? This comes down to the busyness I mentioned before. Because you see, being busy doesn’t not equal earning more money or being more successful. Being busy does not make you an expert or a thought leader, or successful mentor, teacher, or leader. It's productive action that does that!
And I’m so grateful to be able to guide busy women through blocks in the schedule as well as in mindset so they can free themselves from running on a hamster-weal. To be able to show them what's possible without being busy, without working more, without hustle and constant overwhelm.
It’s mind-blowing how much more can be achieved without working more because once you have a strategy with proper structure and systems in place that lets you leverage your business, you don't have to exchange your time for money, you don't have to work more to earn more to maintain that success.
I understand the passion that goes into the work when helping people change their lives for the better. But it doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice your time freedom for it. You can be as successful as you want without “running” 24/7. If you are a high achiever who is finally ready to leverage your time more effectively, here is your personal invite to a strategy session with me. There we will talk in more depth about how to get in charge of your time while maintaining and increasing success in business.
