Many can agree that the way to be visible and thrive is through social media. If you aren’t on Instagram, Facebook, x (Twitter), Pinterest, Youtube, etc,. then you are losing out on reach, customers/ clients, and of course revenue. But is it 100% true? Is it even possible to thrive outside of social media?

While there is truth in that, it truly isn’t the ONLY way to thrive in today's business world.

We’ve all heard that we don’t social media. So in this day and age how do we promote ourselves if we aren’t on social media?

Most would tell you the answer is “email”. And while that is right, The next question that most ask is how do I build my email list without social media?

Podcasts.

Does that mean to start your own? Nope. Not necessarily.

Why podcasts?

Evergreen content.

Podcasts are evergreen content which means the content remains relevant, not time-sensitive, and can and still drive traffic to your business even after years of publication.

Where do you find podcasts to guest speak on?

1: Facebook groups

Yes, I know, but if you already casually scrolling through your Facebook you might as well do some market research and quickly post the question, “What are your favorite podcasts to listen to?” This post alone will help you see what podcast your audience listens therefore reach them on a different platform while also reaching a more “like” audience that has not even heard of you YET.

2: Google

Yes, google made the list. Obviously.

It’s as simple as typing in “[Your subject] + Podcast”

Ta-da.

3: Find an app/website that is specifically designed for guest speakers

I love this day in age because there is an app for everything. Three platforms that you can check out (not affiliated with them) are Podmatch, PodcastGuest, and Guestio.

Some may be free and some require a monthly fee to access their list of podcasters looking for

guest speakers.

Now that you know where to look, all you have to do is pitch yourself, prepare your signature talk, and don’t forget to lead the listeners to a place where they can further connect with you whether that’ll be your email list or your social media profiles. Whatever it is don’t forget to give a “Call to Action”.

Whose podcast have you been listening to that you’d love to be a guest speaker?

In conclusion?

Social media isn't the end all be all

You can establish yourself as an authority outside of social media and truly become omnipresent without burning out on all the social media platforms.
