I’ll be honest, I never saw myself as a business person. Growing up I was taught that I had to go to school, get good grades so that I could apply to a good school and get a stable dream job. This included being a doctor, or a lawyer, or a teacher. I had only taken one business course in my entire life and it was accounting and I quickly wrote off business because I found accounting very boring. You see, I am a people person. I love building relationships and show others how they can be part of a community. This was never highlighted when I was a child because that’s not the “typical”.
However, somehow my intuitive nature led me to working with people in the exercise rehabilitation world. This brought me lots for a joy, but I knew I had a bigger purpose, and that wasn’t going to pan out if I worked one-on-one with others at a pay grade that always had a cap. I just don’t have enough hours in a day to make the type of impact I am looking to make.
So, how does this story relate to the title of this post, you ask? Well, here is the thing, you have to have a certain mindset, discipline, and self-confidence to step outside what societal expectations are and into your purpose. You know the thing that keeps you up at night! The thing that keeps you going when nothing seems to be going right! The things that everyone else is telling you won’t work, but you know deep down inside that it will and are willing to get it done no matter what! That’s the power I am talking about! So now I want to share with you some of my secrets around mindset, discipline and self-confidence so that you can go out there and chase that purpose!
The first lesson and the most important is that leaders are readers. If you want to be a leader in your field, you have to fill your mind with positive, inspiring, educational content that will push your mind to step outside of the normal thinking and into a creative thinking. We are all here to teach one another, and there is nothing more powerful than seeing that light bulb go off in your head. I was always a reader, but now when I read I am always asking myself, “what is this here to teach me?”. When we ask questions like that, we build confidence in our own opinion.
We build confidence in our ideas, goals, and dreams. We build confidence to go out there and ask the hard questions and push through the negatives. The reality is that there will always be someone out there trying to bring you down because they are too afraid to step outside the norm and chase their dreams. You have to set an example. You never know who is watching or who will follow your lead. I truly believe that our confidence comes from asking ourselves the hard questions about what we really want to create and the impact we want to make. Following up with inspired action by going out there and learning from the ones who have already done it.
As we fill our minds with new content, we start to see a pattern in how others built their success. This is where a bulletproof morning routine portion comes in. To have a successful day, we must have a winning morning. It will be different for everyone, but try to find what works for you and make changes as you go along. If you haven’t done so, I highly recommend reading The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. This book will get you started on creating your own Miracle Morning. I have taken some of his suggestions and came up with my own. My morning consists of meditation, gratitude journal, free writing, reading and some sort of movement before I get into my day.
What will start to happen is that you will start to become empowered to start your day. You will have new ideas flowing through you like wildfire. You will find that you are communicating better with your peers. You will start to see the world in a brighter light. If you don’t have a morning routine, that is the first thing I am going to ask you to tackle once you have finished reading this post! Try not to think of it as another thing to do in your day. Think of it as the glue to your day!
The last and final point I am going to leave you with is the money mindset that is required to have a thriving business. I’m sure many of us have heard this saying, hard work and hustle are always required to make lots of money. I had this mindset for a long time and guess what…I was finding myself in a burn out every 4-6 months. I think this is where my journey of personal development began. I started thinking there had to be a better way.
What I know for sure now is that we get to have it all, make an impact, and stay in flow the whole time. I now know that hustle isn’t required because when we are forcing things to happen, this is when resistance shows up. We either have a meltdown, or we don’t get the sale we want. This is the reason why I became a business mentor. I want to show you that flow and ease is totally possible for you. It gets to feel easy, and you get to make the money you want. The secret is getting aligned with what you want through being confident in what you do, creating a bulletproof morning routine that will help you flow through your day, and creating an unshakable money mindset that will help you not only bring in the money you desire, but also thrive in everything you do.
I have an exercise for you! Sit down and write a letter to your present self from your future person who is a higher, wiser, action-driven self. It has given me so much power to go out and chase those dreams. What would your higher self tell you? What advice does she have for you? I also like to have a conversation with my higher self during my morning meditation.
I invite her to my home. I observe how she is dressed, what car she is driving, how she physically looks, how she presents herself, and what advice does she have for me. This is a powerful way to tap into your subconscious and begin the journey of embodying that future self NOW. When I come out of my mediation, my self-confidence grows. I can feel the creative juices going. At that very moment, I know that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. Are you excited to speak to your higher self?
I am going to leave you with this last thought, your reality is what you think, feel, and let yourself have. So what do you want?
Until next time!
