History tells us that there are huge opportunities in times of economic downturn. As business owners, it is YOU that’s in control of whether you sink or swim.
Every day in the news, you’ll hear at least one of the following ‘threats’ used by the media to instil fear and worry.
Inflation
Energy Prices
Interest Rates
Supply
Geopolitician
How you act on them is what will determine your future and that of your clients.
You can’t change the way the media behave.
What you can do though is to decide “Are you going to live the life for a few years like most people won’t, so you can live the rest of our life like most people can’t?”
It is how you THINK and what you DO that will define your destiny.
You are in control.
In times of uncertainty, human beings are much more open to accepting help, what you need to ensure if that you don’t get frozen by worry and fear like your competitors. You must stay ahead.
As you head towards the end of 2022 and start to plan and prepare for 2023 you have to have accurate thinking.
Be smart in your thinking.
You have to acknowledge that this economic situation will be bad for lots of people BUT not for everyone. What you have to do is decide which side of the camp you’re going to fall into?
Many companies will look at their costs and decide which ones they don’t need and sadly many will stop investing in their businesses.
They’ll stop all of their marketing activity. They want to play it safe.
Here are 6 Really Useful Steps to help you stand out from the crowd and make 2023 the best year ever...
1. You must set a clear TARGET & GOAL
That means having clear numbers to work to.
If you don’t know where you’re going how can you possibly know if you’ve achieved your target?
Think about setting weekly targets for you and your team to work to. It’s a great way of seeing when things are starting to go wrong so you can fix them quickly.
2. Focus on what you can control
Your attitude is everything. It’s the foundation and it’s the biggest single ingredient that the winners in business have.
How much time do you spend working ON your business instead of IN your business?
Your Follow Up is everything in your business. Ask yourself what systems you have in place? Take a look at your messages. What’s it saying to your customers? Does it prompt your customers to take action?
Think how your business would grow if you converted more leads into paying customers.
3. Choose to be the positive person in the room
How many times have you sat at a networking event, or in the pub on a social evening and there’s that one person who immediately starts with negativity? How does that make you feel? Is that how you want people to view you?
Make sure you surround yourself with really smart, intelligent people that you’d want to be with.
4. P.M.M.F.S – Please Make Me Feel Special
In everything you do for your customers, over-deliver. Go that extra mile.
Never before has reputation mattered more. Forge a connection and give yourself an edge over your competitors.
5. Build your Audience
2023 is going to be a really important year and if you want to succeed, you need to get known for the right reasons.
You need to be the person that people want to me around. The one they trust.
Make friends and help people.
6. Invest In Yourself
Many companies will stop spending. They’ll go into survival mode and hope that they make it through these tough times ahead.
You must think differently.
You must continue to work on your business. Carry on marketing.
Your success will be determined 90% by YOU and 10% by the outside world
Make sure you stay ahead of your competitors and 2023 will be your best year ever.
It’s how you THINK and what you DO that will define your destiny.
