How a young women went from the shadows to Brilliance, by unveiling the transformative journey of leaving behind a career in the adult industry, and moving into illuminating lives thought spiritual advancement of others.
Bruna Rocha, Self-Reliance Holistic Coach
Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.
Born in Sao Paulo – Brazil, I am the youngest daughter of a middle-class family. We were raised in a flexible environment, where our spiritual practices were always encouraged, and for some unknown reason, I and my two sisters were pushed by our parents to learn how to become quite skillful in arts, study, and work very hard.
However, we three are very different from each other, I for instance was always the attention seeker, louder, and not shy at all to do or say whatever I wanted, and my parents often stimulated it in me. Looking back my hobbies haven’t changed that much, as I still love to write, read, study in an almost compulsive way, and of course express myself in any form and shape possible.
What inspired you to create Coach Me Bruna, and what is the primary mission or purpose behind the platform?
I have had different structures on my coaching journey, this time I wanted it to be more of a place where people feel safe to discuss certain topics, with a more spiritual approach. I felt that we have so much content being shared, but even when it comes to the body, mind, and soul aspects of humanity, the agenda behind is often superficial and strategically made for marketing.
And yet, I am a trained certified professional, who has bills to pay, I went back to my inner child and got reminded why I have had all of the intense life experiences, and overcame so much in life, and got reminded that I am here to inspire others, regardless if they pay me for it or not.
So Coach Me, Bruna Rocha, became my way to embrace all of my gifts, artistic talents, empathy, healing skills, and problem-solving capability; to communicate, and express it for those who might not know what the next step in their lives, why they are stuck, or why they feel that is always something missing in their lives.
What makes Coach Me Bruna's coaching approach unique or different from other coaching services?
Our difference is that not only I am intellectually trained, I have actually overcome the issues I talk about. From feeling unworthy; sexual, physical, and financial abuse; and being lost, alone, and abandoned by family and friends without spiritual knowledge or strength to overcome those battles. I had myself to rely on, and not to only rebuild my life, but to learn and become capable of the life that I knew I deserved.
Besides, my coaching does not only contribute to one or two aspects of my client's lives, my main goal is to teach how can we nurture a spiritual life, where we have a deep connection with God, and still enjoy life’s pleasures such as sexual intimacy, fun, and health habits.
I am constantly reminding my readers, and students that we can have it all, but only when we educate ourselves on what all means; then shame, guilt, or self-doubt is no longer part of the equation.
Do you have any success stories or testimonials from clients who have benefited from your coaching services?
I have a few success stories, but one that I like to share the most is about a client who had issues with his sexual life. He had some shame and fear of living his sexual life to the fullest since his girlfriend betrayed him multiple times.
When we started to dig deeper, into his false beliefs about his sexuality, we found that it started at a very young age, when he was sexually abused by a close family member.
For him, he wasn’t good, not enough of a man, since he was abused by a man. His shame was on around the idea, that he wasn’t meant to be with women, and that is the reason why his girlfriend has cheated on him.
We went through plenty of healing sessions, where we worked on understanding why certain things happen to us, or to the people we love, how to truly forgive, and to change that victim narrative to a place of strength.
By shifting his false beliefs about his manhood, he was able to forgive; change his story; become more proud of who he is; accept what happened; and let go of the anger towards his partner and his abuser.
Nowadays he is engaged in a very beautiful project where both are helping young people to overcome similar problems, and become able to discover who they are and know that they are loved still by the divine, that is not their fault and they can live a normal life, even after such trauma.
What qualifications and experience do you and your coaching team bring to the table?
I started educating myself, and developing my spiritual gifts over twenty years, but only in 2012 did I decide to take a more professional approach and begin my certifications, and professional practices in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique Tapping), Nutrition, Ho’oponopono, Ashtanga & Vinyasa Yoga, Tantra, Heart to Heart Coaching, Ayurveda Massage and Holistic Coaching.
It’s great to be intellectually qualified, as I said above, but I believe that what adds to my toolbox as a coach, is the fact that I have tested and used each of what I offer in my personal challenges, family, and clients.
So it’s not only a piece of theoretical knowledge but a hands-on experience on overcoming the most diversified challenges while keeping the spiritual aspect of life a priority.
What kind of support or resources do you provide to clients throughout their coaching journey?
Often I do offer a personalized approach, we can’t use the same techniques with everyone, and a journey towards self-reliance should reflect that.
I offer proven methods, based on spiritual, and psychological combined with other scientific-based resources, to offer a tailored approach according to the client's strengths, desires, challenges, and personal beliefs.
I believe the key word here is tailored, we do create a customized roadmap that resonates with each client's need, and it can be delivered online or in person at one of the safe space organized retreats. The support we give doesn’t just focus on one aspect of life; we address the whole picture. From career to personal development, spiritual strength, and relationships, our holistic approach ensures that the clients become self-reliant in every facet of life.
Note that our support, goes beyond traditional coaching and that a client succeeds in our success in fulfilling our life purpose as well.
How do you envision the growth and evolution of your platform in the coming years?
I believe that the growth is already on its way, by the amount of testimonials sharing their transformation, for me the main goal, is to propel people to live a better life in times like this, where chaos and confusion seem to reign.
As for the evolution, I believe that we would invest in making Coach Me Bruna "a thing” by applying modern technology to reach more people, and get them to where they want faster, and in a more financially accessible way.
Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.
I am a multidisciplinary entrepreneur, so for me, my greatest achievement is to finally be able to not use my business or jobs, as a way to chase my favorite travel locations or my dream home, but to be able to use all of the spiritual wisdom that I have to help others.
It has no price, on becoming able to live to serve others, in a more meaningful way, and stop for a minute the rat chase.
If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?
I believe that coaching has become a huge business, and is true it’s very profitable, so I do believe that instead of making it a market to gain from selling certificates just as most traditional careers, we should keep the main idea of coaching which is experience and empathy.
By selling certificates, anyone with no life experience, in a certain subject can become an expert and lure clients to believe that he or she has the solution to their problems.
I spent thousands of dollars hiring coaches who, that at the end didn’t have much experience themselves on the topics where I was facing some challenges, it was like paying for a certified friend, filled with opinions and book knowledge.
Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.
One moment that was significant for me to make the changes in my life, was when during Covid in 2021, I lost the movement of my right arm and leg.
It was extremely scary, and by that time I was already retired from the adult industry, money was short, and I only had access to private doctors, and they were considering having me operated on. I was already training my left side, to basic things such as writing, and brushing my hair and teeth, but still, it was a very scary moment for me, and looking at the expenses, and being all by myself in Europe, have put things into perspective.
As an aha moment, and I recall how many people I have already helped in the past, even informally, I had known all the tools I needed already, but I got so caught up, that I wasn’t applying it to myself.
So as a child, I decided to relearn everything, every technique, and dove into a spiritual journey towards healing. Within a few moments, not only did I heal myself, but I also managed to become stronger and do things beyond my day-to-day activities.
It was a significant moment in my life, to remind me that even thou I had all good intentions in my heart, I wasn’t applying them, and I that I was being very selfish, by not sharing it with the world. This situation pushed me to share more, to teach more, and to nurture more my own practices.
How did you navigate the transition from being a former pornstar to pursuing a career as a yoga teacher, lawyer-to-be, and holistic coach? Can you share some key moments or decisions that led to your diverse career path?
I confess that wasn’t easy, you go from being a rich known person to someone that most people look down on, with not a stable income.
As I said earlier, when I got sick, the idea of not being able to walk anymore, or not even being capable of holding a glass of water, was frightening and essential for taking a step into the life I have now.
When I was in the adult industry I had a financial goal, some dreams, and an expiration date for it, and once I had reached all of it, I knew that was the time to leave and live the life I was meant to live.
A life where my main purpose is to help others, to inspire, and to encourage everyone that comes my way to be better.
In your experience, how has the practice of yoga influenced or complemented your legal profession and holistic coaching? Do you find any unexpected connections between these seemingly diverse aspects of your life?
Yoga is a technology that the divine, made available for us, we can call it different names, and have different beliefs around it, but is there and its benefits are real.
For me not only gave me the physical flexibility, but also the mental and spiritual flexibility, to deal with people from different backgrounds, without prejudice, or fear, with no need to shame them but in all ways to help them overcome whatever challenge they bring me, that is the scope of my specializations and experience.
What were the biggest challenges you faced during your journey from the adult entertainment industry to your current roles? How did you overcome obstacles, and what personal or professional growth did you experience along the way?
I believe that the biggest challenge is to deal with the moral aspects of a very judgmental society. I am grateful that I am a very strong person, but there were moments of doubt, where I thought that regardless of my intellectual knowledge, wisdom, and divine talents, all that people wanted from me was my looks.
To overcome these obstacles, personally and professionally I had to raise the bar, and become very specific in the details of each person, and client who approached me. This way, I avoid wasting energy on people who are not serious about their personal magnification, let alone me as a human, coach, or lawyer.
As a law student and holistic coach, how do you integrate holistic principles into your legal practice? Are there specific aspects of holistic coaching that you find particularly beneficial in the legal profession?
I believe that since I started giving legal advice, together with my partners, I have applied my good coaching hearing skills, where I listen more than talk.
As well I see how everyone is going through their own journey and it’s not my responsibility to save them, I have to advise without judgment, love, and accept each of my clients, because energetically and subconsciously I have attract them, but I cannot by any means save them.
I think that the most beneficial aspect of being a coach, that I can see in my legal practice is my capacity not to get attached to people’s problems I know some coaches and lawyers love to be the hero, which is ok, but I have decided not to be one, I will rather be Robin, and give the solutions and support more discretely, so my clients can be the Batman's in their own lives.
Given your background, do you see any unique opportunities for advocacy or empowerment within the fields of yoga, law, or holistic coaching? How do you use your diverse experiences to inspire and help others in their own journeys?
I am involved with sustainable environment law, as well as family international law, and I believe that there is a connection between yoga and personal growth.
At my carbon credits projects for example I always seek to work with people who know the importance of their role in keeping the connection between all beings, to preserve the necessary equilibrium on earth. As for families, when they are lost and confused, looking for ways to be reunited with their beloved ones, and fear is their natural state, having a spiritual encouraging word can make a big difference in how people see and approach their problems.
