Jennifer Schmelz, Vibrational Sound Therapist
Introduce yourself, Jenni.
Hi! I live in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA. A few years ago, I moved to the Western side of Colorado for the glorious weather, 250+ days of sunshine, and an abundance of year-round outdoor activities in some of Mother Nature’s most amazing creations. The Grand Valley is infamous for the surrounding Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, Arches of Rattlesnake Canyon, and the Bookcliff mountain range.
When I am not exploring the world of frequencies, sound, and vibration through work and study, I enjoy archery, hiking, and camping with my 18-year-old dog, Otis, my partner, and sometimes my daughters!
I didn’t always feel satisfied with life. Before I founded Frequency Works LLC and moved to Colorado, I lived in the Upper Midwest for most of my life. After college, I started working with my family in the automotive industry. Life was good; I was blessed with my daughters and a job, but I never really felt that I was on my path. I was always much more interested in alternative medicine, wellness and nutrition, and the potential of our natural state.
What led you to discover sound and vibration as a therapy?
There was a point in my life where I was struggling. Through a friend’s recommendation, I began attending sound baths at a local church regularly. I fell in love with it because I had an immediate response to its effects. Right after my first experience, I told myself “I’m going to do this one day”. It changed my state of being tremendously, so much that I felt like I was not the same person who walked into the sound bath. Several years later, here I am; growing Frequency Works and diving deeper into my passion for frequency energy work, and still staying curious about both ancient and cutting-edge therapies!
What inspired you to create Frequency Works LLC?
I have been experimenting and using frequency modalities since the sound baths I started attending in 2015. I was buying and collecting instruments to play as a way of meditating and entering a different state of being. I would play for friends who would come over because I just wanted to play and hear the music and feel the vibrations. I was still working my career job when a Vibrational Sound® Therapy course was offered in my area. It might as well have been in my backyard; like it came to me for me, so I immediately signed up. That was 2 years after I started going to sound baths regularly. I learned more about playing, but the course was more focused on how to use Himalayan Bowls on the body for deep relaxation. Once again, I was deeply affected by this modality and could notice how the vibration was shifting the energy in my body and deeply relaxing my muscles, while the sound was entraining my brain waves into a very deep state. There was so much more going on than the eyes could see or could be described. My clients describe a Vibrational Sound® Therapy session similarly.
About three years later, I started Harmonic Egg® sessions and my transformations became even more visible. People close to me or who were working with me saw a difference in me, over the years that I was working on my electric body. Physical, mental, and emotional changes were continuous, regardless of what was going on around me. Then one day I went to work, like every other day, and I had an internal “experience” where I was pushed to say I was leaving the job, even though I had not planned it. I even surprised myself. I would not
recommend anyone leave work without a plan, but this was a real push, from my inner self and I was finally moving towards my path. Shortly after that, I started Frequency Works LLC to continue to create balance and understanding of life. I desire to bring that experience, knowledge, and inner understanding to others so that they may also find a pathway to inner and outer balance in their own lives.
What type of audience do you target your business towards?
Anyone who has a stressed central nervous system should try one or more modalities that I offer. We have a current problem with most people living daily with physical, mental, and electric stress. The modalities I use are a pleasant and passive way for the client to calm the central nervous system, without additional stress about the “how to” de-stress. An open mind and curiosity bring people to my work, but the effects speak for themselves and clients receive results that are more than they had expected. With repeated treatments that retrain the central nervous system to operate more in the rest and digest mode, people notice a change in how they feel, how they think, and how they operate in their lives.
What advice would you give to someone new to the concept of frequency-based wellness?
Quantum physics says that all matter is vibrating. We are vibrational beings interacting with each other in a vibrational world. We are affected by our state of frequency, by others' frequencies, and by the frequencies of the environments we are in. When thinking of health and well-being, we should account for how vibration affects our lives. This concept is not talked about much. However, learning to pay attention to your state of frequency is important. In meditation, we practice getting in touch with and stabilizing our inner world, if necessary, regardless of what is happening outside of that inner world. Meditation is a form of getting in touch with where your frequency is and can be used to change the energy in and around you to be more compatible with your visions and goals. This can be experienced by both newcomers and experienced meditators easily with frequency modalities that involve sound and vibration.
Through my journey over the last 30 years, I have come to believe that wellness is a 3 pronged approach that includes physical health, mental health, as well as electric and energetic health. In my own experience, a good diet, physical exercise, and modalities like massage and chiropractic were part of my everyday life. Eventually, I felt I needed more and added meditation and mindfulness practices. However, when I introduced modalities that focused on energetic and electric health, my life started to change in positive ways without me trying to control it. The biggest shifts in my life started to occur because I was taking care of my electrical and energetic health while continuing to acknowledge my physical and mental self in nutritious ways.
Can you share a success story that highlights the impact of frequency-based wellness?
I have seen many success stories since transitioning to working with sound and vibration. Vibrational Sound® Therapy, Sound Bath Meditation, and Biofield Tuning have taught me a lot and I continue to be driven by the impacts it has on clients. One of my favorite stories is of an experienced meditator who was also a singer/songwriter. He was experiencing a block in his work. He came to one of my outdoor sound bath meditations, never having been to one before.
After this experience, he had an enormous breakthrough and wrote several songs over the next few days.
What is one thing about your industry that you would like to change?
Our world is made of frequencies and so are we. As we work to tune ourselves through frequency work, we can move out of old patterns, and old emotional and physical pains that are held by frequencies, and move into new experiences that are resonating differently than the ones you were in.
I would like to be a part of the movement to bring frequency work to the forefront and validate it as an important part of self-care, self-awareness, and self-advancement. In the past, it has taken a long time for modalities that are not mainstream to be accepted and for more people to use them. Currently, the use of frequencies, sound, and vibration for self-care are not well known, or not easily accessed. Bringing this type of work to my community and around the world with remote sessions is very exciting to me.
Where is your studio and do people need to be in person when working with you?
I am located in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado and some of my services can be offered at a distance. Biofield Tuning Sessions can be offered with FaceTime, WhatsApp, phone, or just by having permission from the client. Harmonic Egg® sessions can be facilitated with a photo of the client and awareness of the session in progress. Local offerings include Vibrational Sound® Therapy sessions either alone or paired with Acu-Detox, just Acu-Detox, small and large group Sound Bath Meditations, with or without Acu-Detox, and Harmonic Egg® Sessions. 5-point needle AcuDetox is a profound protocol on its own. It supports the parasympathetic nervous system, calms the mind, reduces stress, and supports the liver, kidneys, and lungs physically and with their corresponding emotional presentations. This protocol has been a wonderful pairing and enhancement to the Sound Bath Meditations and Vibrational Sound ®Therapy sessions.
