Silvana Avram is a successful, Inspirational Life Coach, philosopher, author, teacher, and founder of Life Coaching with Silvana – whose mission is to empower us to embrace our uniqueness, fall in love with life, fulfill our potential and create a beautiful legacy.
Fascinated from a young age by the mystery of life and our place in the universe, Silvana has been on a quest to find her own answers to the big existential questions facing humanity. Now an acclaimed Coach and Author, she draws on her extensive study of Philosophy, Psychology, Meditation, Holistic Healing, and Spirituality to create a uniquely inspirational and empowering style of Coaching – also reflected in her Book “Being You and Loving You” in which she guides us through an unforgettable, transformative journey of self-discovery and self-love.
Convinced that we can overcome the prevalent paradigms of fear and division, Silvana has recently focussed her attention on developing a radically innovative approach, outlined in her upcoming book, “Living in Eternity” – and which has earned her an unexpected nickname: “Miss Eternity”! She argues passionately that, rather than chasing goal after goal and living for tomorrow, we should, instead, live every day, every moment, with the joy, awe, and serenity we experience when we see our lives from the perspective of Eternity. When we choose to live in Eternity, everything falls into place, everything we do takes on a different meaning, and we become aware that, as humanity, we are, in fact, constantly creating our common legacy.
Silvana’s ambition: is to inspire us to write a better story for ourselves – and for humanity – in Eternity!
Silvana Avram, Inspirational Life Coach and Author
Welcome, Silvana! Please introduce yourself to our readers, so we can get to know you better! Who is Silvana?
The honest answer? A human being trying to make sense of Life and sharing her discoveries with others! Also, a passionate teacher, mentor, author, and Life Coach, driven by a deep desire to bring my contribution to the world, and inspire people to live life with a sense of freedom, trust, and joy!
Having said that, the answer to this, most fundamental question of “Who am I?” is constantly unfolding and it is one of the reasons that I love being a Life Coach! I get to hold the mirror in which others can see just how unique and special they are. It is a huge privilege!
Let me return the question to you and our readers: Who are you? How do you define yourself? Beyond the different roles we play in society, we are extraordinary beings! There is so much to discover and so much to share.
I’ve always been fascinated by the beauty and mystery of being human! The same way some people discover their love for music or sport in their childhood, I started asking questions about the meaning of life very early on. Like, Why are we here? What happens when we die? Can we change reality? What does it really mean to be happy? I went on to study Philosophy and Religious studies after a first degree in Languages and a Masters in Cultural Studies, I travelled to India, enjoyed being a teacher and published a book with stories about “being human” together with my students and then, training as a Life Coach came as a natural next step, I guess, a direct consequence of my deep interest in the human nature and of my passion for empowering others to fulfil their potential.
I currently live in the UK, but I continue to travel a lot. I love discovering new places, new cultures, and meeting people from all walks of life. I also have a deep connection with France and with the European philosophy in general. I would say that I am a true citizen of the world!
Tell us more about what you do as a Coach and your unique style of Coaching.
I founded Life Coaching with Silvana to offer individual and group coaching with a specific focus on achieving personal freedom and fulfilment. There is a lot of focus in our society on success, but I would argue that we are not talking honestly enough about our most authentic longings and aspirations, about who we are – to go back to your previous question, or about what truly makes us happy.
“We are powerful creators. Our life is our ultimate work of art, our signature, our gift to humanity. Each one of us is unique, and each one of us has a valuable contribution to make to our common story.” ‒ Silvana Avram
When I published my first book, in The Authorities series, my publisher welcomed the fact that my approach and philosophy represented a more holistic form of Coaching, which can be defined as “Coaching for Fulfilment”.
In my Coaching conversations we go beyond the usual definitions of worldly achievements – and explore areas often considered taboo, like authenticity, self-love, respect, living joyously and fearlessly, the role we want to play in the world, but also our mortality, our legacy, and how we can develop trust in life, so we can feel at home in the universe.
Is there a common definition of fulfilment?
Yes and no. We all want to have a sense of deep satisfaction, of “mission accomplished”, of life well lived. And yet, each one of us is unique, so we must find our own definition of fulfilment. Ultimately, that’s what life is all about, right?
And that’s why Coaching for Fulfilment is so important! Because it empowers us to find our own answers and pursue our unique path to lasting happiness. You and only you can be you! Fulfilment really does come from being perfectly aligned with yourself.
If Coaching for Fulfilment was introduced in schools and colleges, if we were encouraged on this path from very early on, if we learnt to trust our gifts and forge our own path rather than compare ourselves with others or compete with each other I am convinced that our society would be healthier and happier!
Right now, those who feel really fulfilled are the exception, the lucky ones. Imagine how much better our world would be if those living a fulfilling life were a majority!
To reach that level, of course, there must be a shift in our collective consciousness. But I believe we can create this new reality.
Silvana, you are also an accomplished author. You describe your coaching blueprint in your book. What can people expect when working with you, when embarking on the journey to fulfilment, as you call it?
The way I see it, the journey to fulfilment has two major stages: Being You and Loving You. I talk about each stage in detail in my book “Being You and Loving You – The Ultimate Guide To Fulfilment or How to Live Happily Ever After”., and we use the same blueprint in my coaching. I’ll try to sum it up for our readers:
1. Being you. In the first stage, we reconnect with our true self. We go beyond appearances and societal conventions, and we relearn to live authentically: we take responsibility for who we want to be. We start the journey to fulfilment by rediscovering ourselves. We tap into our uniqueness, we embrace our richness, we confidently express our beauty, we nurture our inner child, we honour our creativity and we give meaning and purpose to everything we do.
2. Loving You. In the second stage, we take a leap of faith. We learn to love ourselves unconditionally. We confront our fears and we give ourselves permission to be free. We learn to trust our vision, and we turn our dream into reality. We share our gifts with others, and with humanity.
Each of these stages involves several transformational steps. There is no going back. It is a life-changing journey. With every step we become richer and stronger.
The journey to fulfilment is arduous, but it is a journey we owe to ourselves and others. Why? Because life is a precious gift! Only you can be you. It is your duty to be the best you can be, to embrace who you are, to be fulfilled and happy! By being fulfilled, you share your gift with the world! You help all of us. Being you is your contribution to our common story.
The beauty of this journey is that by rediscovering ourselves and learning to love ourselves, we learn to appreciate and love everyone. By Loving You, you learn to love humanity!
“At the end of the journey of you it is all about us, about being one.”
Silvana Avram, Being You and Loving You
Those I work with tell me that the most powerful transformation they experience during our conversations is a profound shift of perspective: a sense of liberation that brings inner peace, and a feeling of expansion, exhilaration and total empowerment.
“It felt like a burden was lifted from my shoulders. After years of pretending I finally gave myself permission to be who I wanted to be!” “I never knew that freedom could feel so good! If anything, I have become more efficient than in my previous, highly stressful life, because I have changed the focus from living for tomorrow to enjoying who I am today and creating a lasting legacy!” These are just some of the comments people have shared with me recently.
The truth is that no matter how we organise our life, or how successful we are, sooner or later we are all confronted with the big questions about meaning, purpose, our place in the grand scheme of things, our mortality, and what we would like our legacy to be.
“The secret to personal happiness and to our success as humanity is unconditional love for ourselves and others – giving ourselves permission to be who we know we can be – individually and collectively.” ‒ Silvana Avram
It is fair to say that the global pandemic and the terrible war in Ukraine have recently brought these topics more sharply into focus. There is a shift in our societies towards deeper introspection and, at the same time, the need to participate more actively in building a new world, an acknowledgement of the importance of solidarity.
Coaching for Fulfilment helps ignite and strengthen the inner power and commitment we all need to create the life we deserve and desire.
My role as a Coach is to hold the space for powerful, cathartic introspection – to offer an authentic mirror to those I interact with, so they can see themselves in a totally new light, listen to their inner voice, clarify their purpose, embrace their uniqueness, take responsibility for who they want to be, and pursue their calling with courage and trust.
I tell those who work with me: “I will be your mirror! You will see yourself in a totally new light. You will discover yourself more beautiful and more powerful than you ever thought you could be. Get ready to be surprised by yourself! But, remember, you must take responsibility! From now on, you will consciously create your life, just as you want it to be!”
It is a huge privilege to be able to accompany people in living their dream life with a profound sense of freedom and fulfilment. I feel extremely grateful. I get to do what I love – support and inspire others, while also expanding my knowledge, and growing. Coaching has the power to transform the world by helping each one of us be the best we can be.
Can anyone be coached for fulfilment?
Of course! Don’t we all want to be happy? Everyone deserves to live a fulfilling life! In fact, everyone should be coached for fulfilment! High performance athletes, actors, CEOs and world leaders all have coaches helping them to improve their performance. But fulfilment is something else altogether. We all know that success doesn’t always mean fulfilment.
Often, we can be very successful in certain areas, whilst at the same time neglecting crucial aspects of our wellbeing, and so our life becomes unbalanced.
A more holistic approach helps with putting things into perspective and bringing balance where it’s missing. I would say that a guaranteed consequence of Coaching for Fulfilment is a broader perspective on life and our place in the world, trust in who we are, irrespective of our “achievements”, and a profound sense of serenity.
It is one thing to be determined and resilient, to be excellent at what you do. It is another thing to be deeply at peace with yourself, secure in the knowledge that you are loved, no matter what, that your contribution is valuable.
In fact, it is often successful people who tend to be the hardest on themselves. When we understand that our greatest contribution to humanity is simply being ourselves, rather than “having” or “doing”, we feel liberated.
It takes an honest mirror to reflect back our deep longings, to help us embrace our vulnerabilities and see our exquisite beauty! We all deserve to meet ourselves authentically, without fear or judgement, to honour our potential and fall in love with life.
“Ultimately, being fulfilled is loving who we are.” ‒ Silvana Avram
I am happy to work with those who are looking for a fresh perspective, who want to bring more positivity, meaning, and inspiration in their life, to find new, better ways to be of service.
The only condition is an honest commitment to one’s growth, to one’s transformational journey.
Could you share with us some stories of transformation and fulfilment?
There are so many stories that come to mind! One of my first clients, as a trainee coach, was a very successful young lady, working for a top firm. Despite apparently living “the dream life”, she was, by her own account, very unhappy. She had a degree in design and longed to pursue her artistic ambitions but would not dare call herself an “artist”. By the end of our Coaching journey together, she had opened her own art exhibition and was involved in various artistic projects. It was such a powerful transformation – for the first time in years she felt inspired, joyful, and determined to fulfil her dream. All she needed was the courage to be who she wanted to be. It is easy to see how this experience was a gift for both of us. I had the privilege to witness the amazing impact that Coaching for Fulfilment can have on one’s life: facilitating the unfolding of a gift that might have remained hidden, had she not reached out. She found the strength and motivation to follow her heart’s desire and unleash her potential. We could both see, first hand, the incredible power of becoming aligned with oneself.
Another example is that of a very successful businessman whose “workaholic” tendencies had alienated him from his friends and family. It took a tragic event to bring him to coaching, but his strength and honesty helped him dive deep, get to know himself better, and commit to being the warm and generous person he knew he could be. His was a shift from the rather narrow view of success he had inherited, to a broader understanding of his deeper motivation, of the person he longed to be, and the role he wanted to play in society. He changed his life completely. Whilst he had always loved his work, his coaching journey helped him realise that real fulfilment for him meant sharing his success with others and building an enduring legacy. He has since totally transformed his business model and has even included Coaching for Fulfilment amongst the bonuses his company offers his employees!
In truth, each story is extraordinary! There is nothing more powerful than being who we truly want to be. Group coaching also offers wonderful opportunities to share our experience, support and inspire each other and I have to say that I am always amazed by the wisdom, courage, and generosity I witness on a regular basis.
I feel quite emotional talking about this – each story is so beautiful and so rich – and each one of us deserves credit for everything we do to learn, to expand, to become better, to aim higher, to honour our gifts, to help and support each other and to play our role in the extraordinary story of humanity!
We have a common destiny. The sooner we learn to support each other, and replace division with fraternity, the better.
That’s why I am so passionate about Coaching for Fulfilment. It brings us together, it reconnects us with our essence, it helps us to see beauty in ourselves and others, and it empowers us to be the best we can be.
I have no doubt that coaching will play a crucial role in helping us build a happier, more solidary society. We must decide, collectively about the legacy we want to build, as humanity. I think we can do better! Don’t you agree?
Silvana, you talk with so much passion! What projects are you working on currently? What are your plans for the future?
My aim is to reach out to, support and inspire as many people as possible with my books, my articles (Thank you Brainz!!), my coaching and my courses! That’s how I can bring my contribution to creating a more harmonious, more solidary, happier, world. We find fulfilment and joy when we learn to love and appreciate ourselves and take responsibility for our legacy.
That’s my way of feeling fulfilled and fulfillment is an ongoing journey.
“Being alive, experiencing ourselves as individuals, is a spectacular opportunity. Getting to love who we are and being the best we can be, is the most precious gift we can give ourselves and humanity. It is both our privilege and our duty to fulfil our potential and to create a beautiful legacy!” ‒ Silvana Avram
Currently I am working on creating a series of online courses to further develop the topics I am passionate about: living authentically, feeling free and finding fulfilment.
After the terrible pandemic that affected all of us, and with the tragic war unfolding in Europe, people have started to ask more profound questions about the meaning of life, about what it means to be free, about purpose and contribution.
Together, we can, and must, find answers to our common questions and forge a common path towards a better future for humanity.
I am also working on a new book, “Living in Eternity” in which I am exploring our relationship with death, with life and with immortality. To me, understanding and accepting life’s natural cycles, embracing our impermanence and getting used to contemplating infinity are all part of the secret to being free. By learning to trust life we replace fear with serenity. We learn to feel at home in the universe.
Apart from writing and coaching I’d like to continue to travel, meet wonderful people all over the world and work with various organizations to offer events and retreats on topics that are close to my heart.
Wow! It’s been truly fascinating chatting about fulfilment and eternity! Let us know when you publish your new book! I look forward to reading it and talking to you again soon! Meanwhile, how can our readers get in touch with you?
Thank you, it’s been my pleasure! Apart from reading my articles on Brainz people can find me on Instagram and Facebook or visit my website where they will find more inspiration and info about my upcoming courses and projects. I love hearing from people from all over the world so please do get in touch!
Finally, is there anything else you would like to share with our readers? A coaching tip, perhaps?
Thank you for taking the time to read this interview! I hope you feel inspired and empowered to fulfil your potential!
I truly believe that we can create a better world together. Trust yourself. Know that you are a powerful human being with a unique gift to share. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! The world needs you to be you! Thank you!
One of my favourite Coaching tips: “Imagine that a future inhabitant of planet Earth gets to read your story. What is it about? What will they learn by reading it? What will move them? What will inspire them? What will they want to thank you for?”
Keep this in mind as you continue your journey. Keep things into perspective. Your life is your work of art – your gift to yourself and to humanity. Your life is a work in progress, and you are the master. Do your best. Live your life with gratitude. Enjoy every minute of it!
