Jackie Long, Hypnotherapist

Jackie, can you tell us about your background and what led you to become a hypnotherapist?

My journey into hypnotherapy began with a solid foundation in psychology and behavior therapy. I spent ten years as a school psychologist and behavior therapist, where I gained invaluable experience working with children and families. However, I always felt there was more I could do to help people on a deeper, more subconscious level. This led me to explore hypnosis, and I quickly realized its profound potential for healing and transformation. I became a certified graduate of the Hypnotherapy Academy of America, which ranks among the top 5% for training and education of hypnotherapists in the US. In 2020, I founded Jackie Long Hypnosis, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact hypnosis has on my clients' lives.

What sets your approach to hypnosis apart from others?

My approach is unique because it combines hypnosis with mindset coaching and energy work. I believe that true healing and transformation require a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit. Hypnosis allows me to help a client access their subconscious mind, where deep-seated beliefs and patterns reside. Mindset coaching then supports clients in developing a positive and empowering outlook on life, while energy work balances and harmonizes their overall energy. This integrative method supports my clients in releasing what’s holding them back so they can move forward with confidence and clarity. Instead of using willpower to create change, I help clients tap into their subconscious mind and reprogram it to align with their goals, therefore creating new positive beliefs, which then translate into their actions in their everyday life. They are now able to be aligned with their goals on a subconscious level and achieve them much more easily.

You specialize in women's health, fertility, anxiety, and chronic pain. What inspired you to focus on these areas?

I have worked with many clients over the years on a variety of issues, and see hypnosis make a significant difference for them. However, my passion lies in women’s health, specifically the areas of fertility, anxiety, and chronic pain. Having gone through significant health, autoimmune, and fertility challenges myself, I know how much of a struggle this type of journey can be physically, mentally, and emotionally. Having tried many modalities, I found hypnosis to be extremely helpful. As a woman, I understand the unique challenges we face and the importance of having supportive and effective tools to navigate them. Fertility struggles, in particular can be incredibly stressful and emotionally taxing. Hypnosis can help reduce stress, promote relaxation, and create a positive mindset, all of which are crucial for fertility. Similarly, anxiety and chronic pain are often intertwined with emotional and psychological factors that hypnosis can address. My goal is to empower women to take control of their health and well-being, providing them with the tools they need to thrive as health affects every area of a person’s life.

Can you share a success story from one of your clients?

Absolutely. One of my clients, a woman in her thirties, came to me struggling with a rare fertility disorder and fertility issues after years of trying to conceive. She had tried multiple rounds of medications and IVF at this point, had seen multiple sought-after specialists, and was dealing with immense stress, anxiety, and depression after going through all of this. This was affecting not only her fertility, but her sleep, and overall well-being. Through our hypnosis sessions, we focused on reducing her stress levels, addressing any subconscious blocks related to fertility, and fostering a positive mindset. Her sleep improved almost immediately, and her mindset began to follow. After a few months of regular sessions, she was thrilled to share the news that she was pregnant after 4 years of trying to conceive. She had a beautiful healthy baby girl 9 months later. It was such a joyous moment, and it reinforced the power of hypnosis in supporting women through journeys such as fertility and emotional health. It just goes to show how much more support is needed in this area too.

What do you find most rewarding about your work as a hypnotherapist?

The most rewarding aspect of my work is seeing the positive transformations in my clients’ lives. Helping someone overcome anxiety, alleviate chronic pain, or achieve their dream of becoming a parent is incredibly fulfilling. I’m passionate about empowering others and providing them with the tools they need to release what’s holding them back. Witnessing their progress and success is what motivates me every day. Seeing someone be able to successfully travel on a plane to go their sister’s wedding after years of being afraid to fly, or hearing someone share the news that they are no longer in chronic daily pain, or supporting a client with cancer go through their medical treatment plan with more ease and less side effects, or having a client tell me they are pregnant after years of trying these are nothing short of beautiful miracles.
