Dr. Iris Wright, Visionary Entrepreneur And Fearless Advocate
Introduce yourself!
My name is Dr. Iris Wright, and I live in Newport News, VA. My family and I moved here from Delaware seven years ago. I've been married to my husband for 13 years, though we've been together for 22. We've raised six incredible children together.
I'm passionate about helping people, writing, and building businesses that make a difference. In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling occasionally, spending time with my family, and running my companies. Above all, I find immense joy in serving others in ways that bring healing and hope, a joy that fuels my work and drives my commitment to making a difference.
You've founded and led several ventures, including Caring Hearts Telecare, Wright Way Logistics, Black Diamond Chronicle Magazine, and Real Talk with Iris. What inspired you to start these diverse businesses?
Each of these ventures was born from a specific need or personal experience, making them deeply personal and meaningful to me.
Caring Hearts Telecare is my heart. It's a Virtual and Hybrid Home Care agency focused on supporting the senior population—something I'm deeply passionate about. With the help of technology, we can provide 24/7 care—even for those without an in-home caregiver—through electronic caregiving services and Bluetooth-enabled health monitoring.
Wright Way Logistics came from a personal turning point. When my husband became seriously ill with sarcoidosis and could no longer work, I wanted to create a business that allowed him to heal without the stress of returning to a traditional job. That's how our dispatching services began.
Black Diamond Chronicle Magazine was a dream—literally. I saw it in a dream, and in October 2024, we brought it to life. It shines a spotlight on entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, and leaders. It's also a platform to amplify voices, especially for our authors.
Real Talk with Iris started as a curiosity—I wanted to try podcasting. It quickly grew into something powerful. Today, we're on RokuTV, FireTV, GoogleTV, Chromecast, Android and Apple apps, and Envisioned Broadcasting Radio. It's become a meaningful space to share stories and connect with people across the globe.

As an author, you have a solo book, Injustice: My Story, on the way. What's the central message, and what led you to write it?
Writing has always been healing for me. I've shared parts of my journey in anthology books, but Injustice: My Story tells it all—from beginning to end. I will soon release Evolving From the Storm, a self- help book.
It's raw, honest, and authentic. My goal is to help others who've faced injustice know they're not alone and that healing is possible. I overcame my injustice and found peace, and I want to guide others toward that same freedom.
Your work with the Caring Hearts Foundation and the Injustice Movement shows a strong commitment to the community. How do these reflect your personal values and vision?
Caring Hearts Telecare and the Injustice Movement are deeply connected to my healing, advocacy, and empowerment values.
The Caring Hearts Foundation is our nonprofit. It allows me to support underserved community members, primarily through our upcoming sliding-scale Virtual and Hybrid Home Care services.
The Injustice Movement is a branch of that mission. Every year, we release an Injustice anthology to help others share their stories and heal from injustice. We also launched a new project called Teen Mom to Entrepreneur, which supports teen mothers in becoming authors, speakers, and business owners. We even have a version for women who were once teen moms and are now thriving entrepreneurs. It's all about giving people tools to transform their pain into purpose, inspiring hope and resilience.
How has integrating telehealth with Caring Hearts Telecare helped address staffing shortages and affordable senior care?
Telehealth has been a game changer. With our Electronic Caregiver system, we can support clients even without a physical caregiver present. It's not a solution for everyone, but it's a safer and more affordable option for many.
Our technology offers medication reminders, meal prompts, mental health support, fall risk protection, social features, and remote patient monitoring through Bluetooth-enabled devices. We're not just meeting a need—we're innovating how care is delivered.
Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far. Honestly? It's everything I'm doing right now.
I never imagined taking a chance on myself, walking away from a traditional job, and building businesses that align with my purpose. I've been a full-time entrepreneur for six years. My son can attend virtual school. I've found peace. I've healed. My most outstanding achievement is becoming the woman I was meant to be.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?
I'd increase resources and attention for our senior population. They're often overlooked, and many feel forgotten in a rapidly evolving world. I'm always looking for new ways to support them—whether through technology, services, or advocacy. They deserve better.
Tell us about a pivotal moment that brought you to where you are today.
I read Jump by Steve Harvey six years ago—and I did precisely that. I quit my job and started working for myself.
It wasn't always easy, but it was necessary. Entrepreneurship gave me time with my family, the space to heal, and the clarity to find my purpose. Along the way, I discovered a strength I didn't know I had. "When a woman finds her strength, she will find her identity." – Dr. Iris Wright I've found mine.
