Did you ever notice when you hang up with a client, you are completely depleted of your energy, and you are not sure if you are ready for the next client?
Empaths are highly sensitive and can pick up their client’s emotions, challenges, and obstacles, and if they do not realize it can take it on as their own.
I had a client, and she used to say to me at the end of the day I just want my bed, I am tired and drained, and my family wants my attention; I do not have it to give anyone.
I remember those days, where I just picked up on everything. Empaths are antennas for the energy that is moving around. I used to cry at the drop of a hat and try to think of ideas why I could cancel the next appointment with my clients.
The problem with being so depleted at the end of the day is that my clients would feel guilty because they wanted to go and hide, not deal with their family or friends. This used to be my MO as well.
Easy solutions to manage emotional overwhelm because I want you to get back to living your life.
1. Make sure you have 15 – 30 minutes between each client. This gives you time to eat and take care of your other needs.
2. Ground your energy which helps to make you feel more balanced and centered. You can go outside and put your feet in the grass; however, if it is rainy or cold, create a grounding bowl. I have a bowl filled with sand that I have added shells and crystals in. While you are on the call with your client and you start to feel emotionally overwhelmed, you can play with the sand in the bowl. Centers you and releases the negativity you may have picked up from your client.
3. Create a 5-minute meditation between sessions. Just some simple breathing exercises or watch clips of nature scenes or a fire burning on YouTube.
4. Get up and wash your hands between clients. That is a quick technique to easily clear the energy you may be holding onto.
5. Another quick clearing tool is the heart-centered intention. Ground your energy and imagine your heart center open and clear. You can use color in your heart center area as well. Imagine a gentle breeze going through your heart center, clearing out anything you may have picked up that does not belong to you.
6. Create boundaries for your business. Figure out what are your hours of operation? Ask yourself, what are you willing to tolerate? If a client comes to you after hours or on the weekend, do not respond until the next day you are open. Unless it is something, you are willing to do and make sure because it will set a precedence for that particular customer to do that again.
Learning to say no in your business may be hard at first, you will learn what is right for you and remember that will always be evolving constantly.
When you implement these easy tools consistently, you still have the energy to go out with friends or have some special family time at the end of your day.
The guilt goes away because you are no longer shying away from doing things after working with your clients. You got into your business to make a change, not hide from the world because you picked up your client’s issues.
