Dr. Claudia De Luca’s passion for education and career development is deeply rooted in both her personal and professional journey. With 17 years of experience in sales and marketing, she encountered significant challenges in advancing her skills in brand management and business. She found herself enrolled in theoretical courses that were expensive, endless, and lacked the practical application necessary to bridge the gap between knowledge and real-world execution. These experiences left her frustrated and yearning for a more hands-on, impactful way to learn and grow.
Furthermore, throughout her career, she encountered leaders with poor leadership skills, individuals whose lack of emotional intelligence and guidance negatively impacted her work-life balance, self-confidence, and overall personal and professional growth. This experience led her to question why so many managers step into leadership roles without proper training in leadership, emotional intelligence, and other essential qualities needed to successfully inspire and guide teams. Which academic journey brought up till here in life?
Dr. De Luca’s academic foundation began in Europe, where she earned a Certificate in Sociology and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Her pursuit of excellence led her to Australia, where she obtained a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Education in Leadership and Innovation.
Furthering her commitment to education, she recently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in September 2024, with a research focus on enhancing graduate employability in the marketing sector.
Her deep academic insight and practical experience make her a key advocate for bridging education and industry, ensuring that graduates and professionals are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in today’s evolving business landscape.
She later earned certifications as an MBTI Examiner and a Neuroscience Coach, equipping her with the tools to help individuals worldwide discover their true selves, gain clarity about their future, and navigate personal challenges and trauma.
Claudia, you mentioned that at a certain point in your life, you emigrated to Australia. What pushed you to leave Italy for Australia?
At 27, I had already reached a significant milestone in my career, becoming a Sales Director with remarkable projections for my future in Italy. My life was secure, rewarding, and on a path that many would consider ideal. However, deep within me, I felt that God had something more, something different, for my life. Despite my achievements, I always felt like a fish out of water in Italy. Whether it was the mentality, the culture, or the weight of my personal struggles that shaped my depth and sensitivity, I often felt different from the masses. I was driven by big dreams and an unshakable sense of purpose, almost like a quiet revenge against the obstacles life had thrown at me.
The defining moment came when I turned 30, the last opportunity to apply for a Working Holiday Visa. This visa allowed Italian citizens to spend 12 months in Australia, working full-time, traveling freely, and experiencing life in a completely new way. It was a now-or-never moment. So, with courage and faith, I made one of the boldest decisions of my life. I quit my secure, well-established five-year career and jumped into the unknown.
And in Australia, I found everything I had been searching for, emotionally, practically, rationally, and spiritually. I found a place where I was accepted, where I could breathe in a judgment-free culture and environment, and where opportunities were truly endless. But most importantly, I found myself.
