Ben & Jerry’s Employees Have Meltdown as Boss is Ousted For “political activism”

The spat between icecream brand, Ben & Jerry's and its parent company, Unilever, is heating up with fresh accusations flying.

Unilever is being accused of removing the icecream brand’s chief executive, David Stever, because of the company’s political activism.

The two companies are set for a court showdown and details have solely been emerging including disgruntlement that a post ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration was barred from going live. The icecream company has also been stopped from expressing support for Palestinian refugees and for calling for an end to military aid to Israel.

The latest accusation, as reported by BBC News, is that Stever was pushed. The filing said Unilever had "repeatedly threatened Ben & Jerry's personnel, including CEO David Stever, should they fail to comply with Unilever's efforts to silence the social mission".

A Unilever spokesperson told the news website that It was "disappointed that the confidentiality of an employee career conversation has been made public".
