Back on track, BUT which track?

2021 was a quite “interesting” year. None of us expected at the beginning of the year that I can become worse than 2020, BUT it topped it with weirdness, strangeness and craziness² (at least in Austria!). The beginning of 2022 isn’t all that different; it’s certainly not yet going back to what we have thought of as “normal” in recent years (even with all ups and downs as well dramas). Sometimes it can feel like we are on the wrong track for way too long and became a “new normal”? Sound familiar?

HHEELLOOOOOO? Not with me!

Everything is strange, weird, confusing, and totally off the edge. Many of us are thinking, “wtf went wrong the last 2 years?” Do you know what I am talking about?

So, what’s next? New Year’s Eve 2022 was again (at least in my mind) promising, yet even in the first week when reading global news, we see the world is still…upside down with daily new challenges, death and diseases! I see many people with question marks above their head, feeling entirely off track, tired, burn-out and depressed – emotionally, physically, and mentally more and more. Even children and teens have worrying mood globally.

HELLOOO? What is happening here?

My question for you is, ”Were we ever on track, or were we living the lives of others based on what we learned from home, in school, in university, and what others would have us believe is ’THE life?’”

But, if ”THE life” is SO promising, why do so many people have burn-outs, mental challenges, and consider changing wow careers to non-career-paths, dropping out completely of the “business world”?

Ever since the beginning of the global pandemic Covid19, domestic violence, alcohol abuse, and mental breakdowns have increased tremendously. More than ever among children and teenagers - those who should have fun and living fully life!

So, were we ever on “THE track” at all?

“How real is reality?” Paul Watzlawick, a famous Austrian communication scientist and psychotherapist, once asked. Do we truly know what reality is without the input of everything that we learned from our environment?

The Butterfly Effect

Did you see the movie, ”The Butterfly Effect” with Ashton Kutcher? Many of us are asking, ”What if … I had made a different decision back then, then would … have happened?” The wave effect, or butterfly effect, is a changing of awareness of the time/space continuum, which impacts future timelines and decisions. Can we truly see the past, present, and future differently as we believe them to be true? According to Einstein, time and space aren’t linear, but relative.

Since I created my coaching/therapy style using the timeline method with respect to the wave effect, many times my clients and I have seen that neither the past nor the future, and definitely not the present, are carved in stone at all.

So, what is the NOW present if the past and future are realities not set in stone?

What if we have a tremendous number of possibilities in front of us every moment, yet we choose based on what we have learned from others based on their learnings and beliefs, and they of others based on their…. Do you get the point?

2020 and 2021 were THE most disruptive years I have ever experienced. And definitely, not a single significant change was on my vision board or bucket list! Not at the beginning of 2022, either.

AND yet I feel this change has to come for something greater and more beautiful then ever.

Therefore, one thing I know for sure: even with everything that is happening, I can still choose, fully, every moment, from what aligns with my dreams, visions, and hopes. More than ever I am working for my dreams to come true, feeling connected globally more than I have before, and I am making visible more than I hoped for at the beginning of 2020!

Why? I choose beyond what I learned from the environment I grew up in.

How about you?

Let’s disrupt everything and create future(s) which are brighter than our parents, grandparents and we had.

What would you building up, if you could choose everything now?
