Too often we get caught up in what we lack. We focus on what’s missing, the doors that seem closed, and the opportunities we let pass us by. This scarcity mindset is holding you back from the incredible abundance that is ‘in you and around you’.


Abundance isn’t something you achieve; it’s something you tune into because it’s already there. It’s not a destination but a way of traveling through your journey. It’s not about what you have but how you perceive and utilize what you have.


Each morning, you have a choice: to focus on what’s lacking or to celebrate what’s abundant, to dwell on problems or seek opportunities, to complain about what’s wrong, or appreciate what’s right. Choose abundance. Choose gratitude. Choose possibility. Choose life in all its fullness. When you act as if you’re surrounded by abundance, you are! Living from a place of plenty brings more into your life. Giving generously invites abundance. It’s time to embrace this mindset and live it fully.


Every day you wake up to a world filled with new opportunities. The rising sun offers you a fresh start, a clean slate, and 24 brand new hours brimming with potential—that’s abundance! But it goes beyond that. Consider the people in your life—your family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers. Each person represents a wealth of experiences, knowledge, and connections. Every interaction is a chance to learn, grow, and expand your horizons—that’s abundance in action!


And look at the world around us. We’re surrounded by nature’s bounty—trees that provide oxygen, soil that nurtures crops, and water that sustains life. And we ‘get to’ experience and enjoy it all!


We have access to information at our fingertips, technology that connects us across vast distances, and innovations that simplify our daily lives. Hello abundance!


Abundance is everywhere if we choose to see it. It’s not just about what surrounds you; it’s about what’s within you! It’s your mindset, your attitude, your approach to life. When you begin to act as if you’re surrounded by abundance, something magical happens—you start to notice more opportunities, appreciate the little things, and become more grateful, open, and receptive to the good that life has to offer! And this simplistic outlook, along with an attitude of gratitude, attracts more abundance to you!


So how do you make the shift?


It starts with a conscious decision to shift your perspective to start practicing abundance awareness by beginning your day with gratitude, even before getting out of bed. Think of three things you're thankful for—it could be as simple as the comfort of your bed, the roof over your head, or just the gift of another day. Keeping a gratitude journal is also a great way to hold yourself accountable by journaling your gratitude daily. Make it a habit to express thanks throughout the day, acknowledging both big and small blessings. This simple habit sets a positive tone for your day, priming your mind to recognize and appreciate the abundance all around you. Below I’ve listed some essential tips to get you started.


Simple practices to cultivate daily abundance awareness


1. Reframe challenges

Look for the good in every situation. See problems as opportunities to learn something and grow from it. Even in challenges, there are opportunities for growth and learning. When faced with a problem, ask yourself “what’s good about this?” and “what can I learn from this?”. This doesn’t mean ignoring difficulties, but rather finding the silver lining - the hidden abundance in every circumstance.


2. Celebrate small victories

Acknowledge even the smallest achievements, as they are all signs of progress and abundance. Learn to celebrate your wins no matter how small. Did you make your bed this morning? That’s a win! By acknowledging these small victories, you’re training your brain to recognize abundance in your actions and achievements.


3. Surround yourself with positive influences

The people you surround yourself with, the books you read, and the media you consume all shape how you see the world. Choose them carefully. Seek out stories of abundance, connect with those who uplift and inspire you, and fill your mind with positive, empowering messages. Engage with people, content, and environments that uplift and inspire you, reinforcing an abundant mindset.


4. Embrace change and uncertainty

Welcome new experiences and perspectives, seeing them as chances to expand your horizons. We often resist change out of a fear of scarcity—worrying that the new situation might be worse, or that you will simply fail. But change is at the heart of abundance. It brings new opportunities, fresh perspectives, and unexpected blessings. By embracing change, you open yourself to a world of possibilities.


5. Practice mindfulness

Be fully present in each moment focusing on the moment you’re in, fully experiencing the richness of life as it unfolds. When eating, savor every bite. When with loved ones, give them your undivided attention. When working, fully immerse yourself in the task at hand. This presence moment awareness allows you to experience the richness of life and the abundance that exists in every moment.


6. Reframe your language

Instead of saying, "I can't afford that," ask, "How can I afford that?" Instead of saying, "I don't have time," ask, "How can I make time?" This simple shift transforms your mindset from one of lack to one of possibility and abundance.


7. Cultivate curiosity

Approach the world with the wonder of a child seeing everything for the first time with the desire to learn. Ask questions, explore new ideas, and try new things. Curiosity reveals the abundance of experiences and knowledge all around you.


8. Practice generosity

Share your time, resources, or knowledge with others, reinforcing the belief that there’s always enough to give. It might seem counterintuitive, but giving freely actually enhances your sense of abundance. By practicing this, you convey a powerful message to yourself and God’s universe: "I have more than enough to give." This creates a positive cycle of abundance in your life.


9. Visualize abundance

Spend time each day imagining yourself living in the abundance you desire, surrounded by plenty, feeling grateful and joyful as you align your thoughts with the reality you want to create. This mental rehearsal not only starts the habit forming process but it also prepares your mind to recognize and receive abundance in your daily life.


10. Practice self-care

Treat yourself with kindness and respect, recognizing that caring for yourself is an act of abundance. Nourish your body with good food, move it with enjoyable exercise(yes I said enjoyable), rest it with adequate sleep, nurture your mind with learning and creativity, care for your spirit through prayer, meditation, or whatever practices resonate with you. When you treat yourself as if you’re valuable and deserving of care, you align with the abundance of God’s universe. And remember, self-care ain’t selfish!


11. Practice forgiveness

Holding on to grudges and resentment blocks the flow of abundance in your life. Forgive others, not for their benefit, but for your own well-being, and also forgive yourself for past mistakes. This release creates energetic space for new abundance to enter your life.


12. Embrace simplicity

Sometimes we chase after more and more thinking that’s what abundance means. But true abundance can be found in simplicity. In a quiet moment, a deep breath, a loving touch. Learn to appreciate the simple things and you’ll find abundance everywhere


13. Create abundance for others

Find ways to add value to others' lives—whether by sharing your knowledge, lending a helping hand, or offering a genuine compliment. As you contribute to others, you amplify abundance in your own life.


14. Let go of comparison & embrace imperfection

Your journey is unique, just like everyone else’s. Comparing yourself to others often leads to feelings of lack. Instead, focus on your own growth and progress. Celebrate how far you’ve come and look forward to where you’re headed.


And remember that perfection is an illusion that can trap you in a scarcity mindset. Embrace the beauty of imperfection, as it's essential to learning and growth. Every mistake is a chance to learn, and every flaw is a unique part of who you are (You are ‘flawsome’). This acceptance helps you recognize the abundance within your own humanity.


15. Keep learning and growing

Every skill you develop and every new piece of knowledge you gain adds to your personal abundance. Be a lifelong learner—stay curious and eager to grow. Successful people are always open to learning to continue to expand, enlarge, and flourish!

Abundance is about much more than material wealth—it’s about richness in every area of life: love, health, experiences, growth, and contribution. When you start acting as if you're surrounded by abundance, you begin to notice it everywhere. It’s about waking up with excitement for what’s possible, seeing challenges as opportunities, and finding beauty in the simple moments.


Imagine a world where everyone lived from a place of abundance, where generosity and kindness were the norm, and challenges were seen as opportunities. That world begins with you! It begins with your choice to live with a mindset of abundance, gratitude, and possibility.
