Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life so we can get to know you better and understand what makes you unique.
Hello! Let’s see… interesting things about me... I love to travel and explore. I am an artist and a teacher in all areas of my being. I'm a self-proclaimed self-development nerd and truly enjoy exploring the depths of the world of energy and spirituality. Several years ago, I realized all of these aspects of myself come together beautifully when I use my art as a medium to channel my soul wisdom and began incorporating this as a devotional practice for myself.
I love animals and the changing of the seasons; fall and winter specifically are my favorites. I grew up in Vermont and still haven't seen more beautiful autumn than in New England. I generally prefer a babbling brook to the ocean, although I do enjoy some time spent there occasionally. Cannon Beach is one of my favorite places to visit the ocean and I'd rather be there in the winter.
I've been told by many people in my life that I have a lot of energy or that they don't understand how I've lived so many lives already for the age that I am. Haha! So, for my fellow self-development nerds, I identify as a seven on the Enneagram and I'm a generator according to my human design. I have all centers defined, except for my throat and G center. I am an unending supply of creative energy and I'm constantly curious.
Regyna – the name of your company is unique—can you explain the origins of it and also how you help your clients?
My business name is Atmaitri. It is a word that I crafted by combining two Sanskrit words; Atman and Maitri. All throughout my life, I have been interested in self-development, spiritual practice, etymology—the exploration of language in general—and this word really brings each of those together in a powerful way.
Atman can be interpreted as self or soul. Maitri is a complex concept, but as I’ve encountered it, it can be distilled more simply into kindness or benevolence. The journey of my life experiences that led me to the point where I created Atmaitri was one that required much kindness towards myself and benevolence for all involved. It is an ever-evolving journey and one that I consciously engage with both as a participant in my own growth and through my work as a Soul Wisdom Mentor. In summary, Atmaitri is a container for exploring and cultivating kindness towards your soul—your essence or most authentic self.
How do I help my clients? I collaborate with soul wisdom leaders to create sustainable, nourishing systems which empower their purpose and foster prosperity in all areas of their being.
I’ll explain a bit further as that statement generally lands nicely in the heart and activates the brain. First, let me establish some vocabulary. I define soul wisdom as our authentic ways of knowing (how we receive and process information) and being (how we express and implement it). The ways in which this wisdom communicates to and through us, are our soul wisdom languages.
There are many layers of influence that we each manage and process at all times—some internal and some external. We are supported in this processing through our rhythms and cycles. I help my clients to gain fluency in their soul wisdom languages and align their natural cycles and rhythms with the structures and systems contained in their business model so that they are nourished as an individual and supported in sustainable ways. With systems that's not only work for you but evolve with you, there is more room for creative exploration and ease in your process.
What kind of audience do you target your business towards?
I work with entrepreneurs who have created their business in alignment with their soul purpose and are ready to take things to the next level. They generally have either left or consciously rejected the sphere of work-for-someone-else (ie. corporate, non-profit, academia, etc.). While in this space, they felt something was missing or just didn’t align fully. They often found fulfillment through their spiritual practices—or creative practice, a wellness modality, exploration in self-development, connecting with nature… you get the idea. Eventually, they took the leap into entrepreneurship, embracing this concept as the foundation of their soul-guided work.
They are invested in their own self-development and they are constantly evolving, and they are now finding that the systems and structures that they use to run their business are no longer aligned with who they are today. These systems feel rigid and infused energetically with the life they left; even though they love the work that they do, they are still feeling exhausted and approaching burnout. Their business model is not sustainable or supportive of the creative and energetic output required. They are ready to uplevel their business to meet them where they are in their personal evolution.
This is where I come in. I am an expert in interpreting soul wisdom languages and creating the architecture to support and express creative concepts. Together, we upgrade your old paradigm systems to align with your new paradigm mission in ways that nourish and support you as a whole being.
Speaking of aligning with your mission, what would you like to achieve for yourself and your business in the future?
As I mentioned in my first answer, I love to travel. I mean this both in the physical as well as the metaphysical sense. Eventually, I would like to see Atmaitri expand to both a retreat center where people can come to a location dedicated to the exploration of soul wisdom languages, as well as have regular opportunities for traveling retreats. I have plans in the works for a small gathering in Maine this coming spring that I'm very excited about!
Travel and learning/development have been a recurring theme in both my life and career in many ways, and I know it will always be a part of who I am and what I do. Ultimately, I have a dream of offering 1:1 travel adventures where I create a custom soul wisdom retreat for you and we go together on an exploration of self-development, self-care, and creativity while immersed in the most nourishing and soul-aligned location.
I can't wait to get started on this one! I've been dreaming it up for some years now.
That sounds interesting! Where do you get your ideas? What is your work inspired by?
Ultimately, like many others who create a soul-guided business, my work is inspired by my own journey. It is fueled by a dream that we can create the world we desire to live in. I've always been a visionary and deeply empathic. Much of the suffering I see in the world and in the people I work with stems from belief systems and structures that do not allow for people to live as their fully authentic selves.
Authenticity has become a buzzword and like many spiritual concepts is often only engaged on a surface level. For as long as I can remember in my life, I've felt a desire to explore deeper and find the connections that resonate for me. In the moments when I've found this place, it is the most peaceful and loving space I've ever experienced. I want this to be something that everyone gets to experience; not just in meditation, or on a retreat, but in their everyday relationships and activities. That is what I mean by living authentically.
If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?
I would change the narrative that there is some magical system that is going to transform your life. In actuality, there are many systems that could help you, but the common factor in all of them is you.
When someone creates a system that is designed to help others, it generally comes from one of two places—either personal experience or test subjects ie. research. In either case, it all comes back to the individuals who had the firsthand experience of success with the system.
I'm not saying to stop creating or sharing systems or to stop looking for when that resonates for you, but I would love to see a greater emphasis placed on the alignment of what works for you as an individual. In order to do this, we must be able to connect with that wisdom and articulate it.
There are billions of people on this planet and the truth is that there are many people that we could partner within the pursuit of growth, transformation, and development. The first step is understanding what your needs are, how you communicate, and the environment that is most fertile for your learning. This is what is at the heart of all these systems and programs, including mine.
Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.
Oh my, there have been many! One in particular that made a huge impact though, was a set of two back-to-back intuitive healing sessions that I had many years ago. It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment when the shift happened because so many things occurred in rapid succession but to distill it into a more digestible explanation, I will note these sessions as the moment.
Through the work I did that day, I recognized my soul purpose here in this lifetime as well as a block that was holding me back from stepping into this role, and a clue—a first step—to take towards doing just that. At that moment, specifically, I did not logically have the ability to describe all of this, but there was a deep knowing that my trajectory had just shifted. I had clarity about what clues to follow and the confidence to follow that guidance.
I left the experience that day knowing that it was time for me to get to know my intuition on a more conscious and collaborative level. The tool that I was guided to use in order to do this work was Reiki. A door was opened that day that I stepped through and claimed my role as a soul wisdom leader.
It would be many years beyond that day before I would have the language to describe it in this way, but this was me taking a conscious step in that direction. I had been walking towards this unconsciously—well, actually I would say semi-consciously—at times prior to that, but this is the moment when I chose to commit to it. This is the journey that led me to create Atmaitri and now inspires the work that I do to support and empower others along their journey.
That pivotal moment happens for each of us in different ways, and we likely have many of them at various stages of our evolution. In one way or another, there is both a catalyst and a support system to foster you through these transitions. If my work in some way resonates as either of these for you, I look forward to meeting you on the journey of soul wisdom exploration!
