Who is Jesi?
I am someone who sees the world quite differently than I used to. Life has allowed me to go from the MOST unconfident person to someone who understands the power she has to make life everything she’s ever desired (and more). It has been such a journey to get to this point, but I wouldn’t trade it because I love who I’ve become. And I know that’s only possible because of who I’ve been until now.
My personal life has involved a lot of hardship, heartbreak, and tough lessons along the way but serves as the foundation I am proud to stand on. About a year and a half ago, I had an “aha” moment that I was going to start my life over again. I sold all my major furniture, got rid of my car, broke my apartment lease, quit my six-figure salary job, started a business, and moved from Seattle to Austin, TX, to live with a boyfriend at the time.
It all happened so fast (within about a month to be exact) but what this did was force me to really look at myself and see myself clearly for the first time. It helped me ask better (and more important) questions about what I wanted out of my life. It helped me to build a new relationship with myself and taught me how to intentionally create my life. Since then, I have attracted abundance in so many ways, and I know it’s just the beginning!
Oh, and I have one cat named Snow (Jonathan Snow is his real name on the adoption paperwork, haha), and I love to dance. Dance, to me, is the quickest way to release any stuck energy you may be feeling. If you ever need me, you can be sure to find me blasting Latin music, dancing in the kitchen, soaking at the moment.
What is it that you do for your clients?
I help career-driven women and men navigate the chaotic times that transitional periods of life can bring. From careers to relationships to clarity around purpose, to healing self-love and even mindset blocks. My mission is to help bring peace and fulfillment back into people’s lives but in a way where they gain control of their experience and have real action steps to move forward with at each turn.
Life will inevitably create ups and downs for us so that we can experience (and learn from) the contrast. I am here to show people the power they have within themselves to handle these experiences with increasing grace so the tough times don’t penetrate so much. I show people how to tap into their internal self and become (and feel) powerful vs. powerless in life.
Who should hire/work with you?
I would say my work is best suited for people who are not new to the personal development world. The people who work best with me are ready for a serious change in their lives and feel ready to put real energy into making moves towards happiness. They are the ones who know investing in themselves is the best thing they can ever do and are done with excuses as to why they don’t have what they want or aren’t where they want to be. They have lifted out of the victim mentality and just need guided action steps to get where they’re looking to get. They are open to learning and open to more for themselves, even if they don’t know what that is quite yet. They’re open to trusting the process as well as their curiosity.
What do you wish more people knew about working with a Coach (of any kind)?
I wish more people knew that this was an available resource. There is a coach for everything, and it is much more cost-effective than you might think. No one has to figure everything out on their own anymore these days. You just need to be willing to raise your hand and ask for help. But sometimes, that takes knowing what’s available to you. Coaches are a great option because many works in a 1on1 capacity and can tailor support specifically for you and where you’re at right now, which helps create the desired results faster. Everything becomes more aligned (and more fun) once you work with a coach.
Have you always known you would be a Life Coach?
I always knew I loved mentoring others but didn’t know that I ever saw myself becoming a full-blown Life Coach until about 5 or 6 years ago. Ever since I was 15 years old (maybe even younger), I remember people my age and older coming to me for advice, and I consistently had great ideas to help them with. I loved how it felt seeing people experience an “aha” moment of clarity and the sense of ease it brought them to after we connected. I’ve continued to be a mentor for people since then and think the magnetization that mentorship has to me eventually inspired me to turn it into more. I remember I had started thinking about it a little more seriously one day and decided to let my curiosity lead the way, which led to me getting my first official certification as a Life Coach. But even then, it would take me another 2 years to turn it into a business. But now that I have, there’s no turning back!
What is your big goal/your mission? Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
This is such a big question, but I love the word mission. I guess that’s really more of what it all feels like for me. I’m not here to be just another coach, motivating you to live a life you love. I’m here to help you actually create the life you deserve and to show you how to do it. I’m a big advocate for action steps and practical advice you can implement now. So for me, my overall goal and mission are to help as many people as I possibly can, and to do that takes larger platforms and more visibility. So in the next 10 years, I plan to be known for my work. I plan to regularly speak on stages, having authored a book on the big podcast circuit, leading/hosting large retreats and events, working with influential thought leaders on collaborations for movements to help change lives at scale. This is all just scratching the surface of what I will be doing, but even this has me excited for what’s ahead.
What are your top 3 tips within your expertise?
My top 3 tips I would give as a Life Coach are not sexy, but they are things that, over time, create lasting change and true happiness. They are the first things I suggest doing to build a stronger foundation as an individual. I don’t care who you are. You cannot escape these things if you want to live better. They are:
Journal and then journal some more to bring awareness into what kinds of thoughts you’re thinking and become in touch with your emotions and face them. Observation is key before you can make any real change.
Meditate (which all this means is to become present at the moment you’re in). This can be done anywhere at any time. It just involves stillness. If you want to make it juicier, sit down and give yourself 10-15 minutes with your eyes shut and zen it out. But know that it is not required to meditate.
Practice controlling your breathing. This gives us control over how we react to the world around us. The more we spend conscious time with our breath, the calmer we are throughout each day. The calmer we are, the less reactive we become, and the more joy we experience because we know that outside situations do not control our state.
Bonus tip: For fun, I wanted to throw another one in there. Get good sleep. Prioritize it. That’s because this is the root of being willing and even able to put the other 3 tips into practice. It nurtures the lens through which we view the world. Sleep powers the machine of the body and is crucial to living well.
What’s one piece of advice you would give for anyone going through a transition or crossroads in their life right now?
A key piece of advice I share with all my clients is that the reason they suddenly feel overwhelmed, filled with mixed emotions, and maybe even paralyzed with how to move during a time of crossroads and transition is that they are supposed to experience that. It is part of the restructuring process that is changing. It’s uncomfortable, it’s messy, and it’s filled with zero clarity. It’s annoying and stressful, and trusts me, I get it and have been there so many times I’ve lost track.
But it’s important to know that chaos creates opportunity (if we let it). So we have to learn to embrace the awkward (temporary) experience that change brings and say thank you for it because it means we are about to have a breakthrough and become closer to peace as we enter the next chapter of where we’re meant to be. The undesirable emotions are a natural part of the process. So accept it and sit with it and allow it to teach you something valuable to take into the upleveling.
What’s something you live by?
Everything requires a gestation period. For example, it would be weird to get pregnant and then the next day have a baby. There is a required and necessary process from the time of conception until birth so that not only is that baby ready to come into the world, but the parents are ready as well. It all happens at its perfect timing. I really believe this concept to be true for every other aspect of life too.
The things we want and desire most require a gestation period and patience. We need to trust that the orders we’re putting in are being made and going to deliver at their perfect timing. Have patience, become excited for it to arrive, and trust that it will. This thought process has gotten me through a lot in my life, and I continue to live by this today and every day.
