2022 is Here! A new year that is full of opportunities and possibilities that will catapult you forward in your career, job or business. Embrace this new year, overcoming your fears being courageous. 2022 is the year for progression.

Michelle Obama stated that becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.

Plan and execute your strategies so that you can evolve, grow and become a better you in 2022. There are 6 shifts I challenge you to make. These shifts will aid you in moving forward.

1. Comfortability to Uncomfortability. Move outside of your comfort zone. Uncomfortable is disturbing and causes you to feel awkward; however, it builds self-awareness. You will learn more about yourself and your capabilities. You will see that uncomfortable is good. The uneasiness will subside because you will see the gains in your growth and knowledge. The benefits will far outweigh the inconveniences. Take your growth and knowledge to the next level by building upon your skills and expanding your mind.

2. Safe to vulnerable. Be willing to have the tough conversations sharing your feelings breaking down barriers and walls. Barriers and walls will hinder progress because it can cause miscommunication and developing false perceptions. Being vulnerable does not mean you are sensitive it means that you are sympathetic and willing to share your feelings.

3. Concealing to Authenticity. Stop covering up who you are and instead be real. Do not be ashamed of the person that you are. You are unique and exceptional. You are a person that others want to know and will appreciate. Pretending to be someone or something that you are not will only lead to being deceptive and a schemer. Being deceptive and scheming will result in others not trusting you and concealing your true self. Trust is the foundation of relationships and a leader.

4. Accepting to Challenging. Be brave and courageous. Do not confuse challenging with being argumentative and uncooperative. Strive to be daring. Force yourself to not accept the status quo instead strive to rise higher. Remove self-imposed limits.

5. Backward to Forward. Backward can be safe; however forward is growth. When you walk backwards, it drastically hinders progression. You cannot build momentum looking backwards. You build momentum by forward motion. You are to use what is behind you to move you forward. Learn from your past so that you can incorporate the knowledge gained to develop and implement strategies.

The greatest thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

6. Normal to New. To live is to evolve and change. You must forge new paths. Open your mind to doing things differently not looking to remain the same. Do not be afraid to try something new. If you are doing the same thing after one year, you are stagnating your growth and development. You must be open to incorporating new processes which will aid you in being current and on the cutting edge.

As you incorporate these six shifts, you will develop new skills, habits and techniques that will propel you forward realizing your vision. As you are faced with situations, you will be equipped to go through and rise above taking you to the next level.

Be focused on what you want, what you need to do and how you will make it happen incorporating these six shifts. As you shift, you will progress. Progression requires that you make shifts to change, evolve and grow. You will experience and realize exponential growth and results in 2022. Take the leap and incorporate these shifts.
