Reason No.1 You deserve it.

You deserve to do what lights you up. You deserve to do what brings you joy. You deserve to pursue and invest in your desires. You are able to show up better for the others in your life when you first show up for yourself and your dreams.

Reason No.2 What you give to, gives back to you tenfold.

What are you currently giving to in the life that is not serving you? What if you gave that time or money to your writing instead?

Reason No.3 When you invest in your writing, you are saying that you matter.

You are saying to everyone – to yourself, to the people around you, to the Universe – that this matters. You matter. Your words and ideas and opinions MATTER. Especially as women, this is a powerful, revolutionary act – to say, This is me, this is who I am, I will be heard!

Reason No.4 You don’t need to do this alone.

You don’t need to come up with all the solutions yourself. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You don’t need to struggle by yourself. You can be part of the community. You can grow closer to yourself – and closer to others – through investing in your writing.

Reason No.5 By pouring into yourself, you pour into others.

By investing in your book, you invest in the thousands, if not millions, of people whose lives will be better from reading your book. By investing in your writing, you help show what is possible. You pave the way for others to follow. You model what it looks like to live fully and authentically.

Reason No.6 You are investing in your legacy.

Your book is a testament to your life’s work – your voice, your stories, your wisdom that you leave behind. Even after you die, your book lives on. It is a gift you are giving the world. Who knows how far the ripples will go?

3 ways to invest in your writing:

Invest your time.

Invest your time in learning about writing, editing, publishing, marketing, and the book industry as a whole. Register for the FREE Thriving Authors Summit (www.thrivingauthorssummit.com) and spend some time learning from 20 experts about strategy, mindset and creative practices that you can begin doing TODAY to move you forward in actually writing – and finishing! – the book inside your heart.

The twist? By investing your time in learning, you end up saving yourself so much time down the line that you would spend trying to do everything or figure out everything on your own!

Invest your energy.

Protect your energy. Save it for what truly matters to you. Practice saying, “No.”

Invest in making your writing routine something that you look forward to, something that nurtures and energizes you. You can download my free Checklist for an Amazing Writing Session that is full of ideas and little action steps you can bring into your writing routine: http://bit.ly/writingroutinechecklist

Invest your money.

This one builds off the other two because often, we are also investing our time and energy into something we invest money into. Financial investment is typically where we really get serious and see the most growth. When we invest money into our writing, we are showing that we take ourselves seriously as writers. We matter. Our books matter.

Maybe this looks like investing in a cover designer or hiring a copyeditor for your book manuscript. Making the financial investment to join a book coaching program like my Thriving Authors Academy kick-starts massive transformation in my clients and their journeys as authors.

Often, the breakthroughs begin as soon as you register – even before the program officially begins – because you have made the decision. You have drawn your line in the sand. This is really happening.

You’re done just talking about it. You’re done just dreaming about it. You are actually going to WRITE your dang book! You are on your way, and your brain can relax into creative mode, knowing that when problems or roadblocks arise, you already have solutions and support on speed-dial.

I’d love to hear in the comments: what do you most need to invest in your writing today? Time, energy, or money?
