The conscious mind can interpret 150-250 bits of information per second. The subconscious mind works with 100-200 million bits of information per second. Your subconscious mind is infinitely more powerful than any conscious thinking you could ever do, so we must harness the full power of your subconscious mind to unlock your dream life.
Signs your subconscious might be working against you
1. You’re not doing what you know is right
Do you feel like it’s an uphill battle to form that new habit? Have you tried year after year to will-power your way into a new behaviour, but you can’t make it stick?
An inability to do what you logically know you need to do is the biggest sign that your subconscious programming is working against you.
See, you might be aware of what you need to progress and become the best version of yourself. But if that progression and this better version of yourself isn’t in alignment with the mental picture that your subconscious holds, it will do everything in its power to hold you back.
Remember, the subconscious mind is far greater than the conscious mind. So it doesn’t matter how much you rationally know what the correct thing to do is. You can try to think and will power your way into the right habits, but without you even consciously realising it, your mind will shift your life to keep you being the old version of yourself that’s stored deep within your subconscious.
The American plastic surgeon and author of “Psycho-Cybernetics,” Maxwell Maltz, found that while many of his patients regained confidence after his surgeries fixed their physical disfigurement, many more were blind to any changes he made. Their subconscious mind so firmly held onto the belief that they were flawed that their eyes could deceive them into seeing their flaws even after they were gone.
2. You’re scared of taking that next big step
Do you have a big vision in your head or an opportunity that you’re indecisive about taking? If you can see a bright, clear future in your head, but you’re not taking the steps toward it again, this is a signal that your conscious and subconscious minds are out of alignment.
Now, the powerful but dangerous part of our subconscious is that we’re not always aware of the beliefs held there.
For example, all the conscious thoughts that you’re aware of tell you that this vision is wonderful, it would feel so great, and you should go for it! But there’s still some hesitation for some reason. That’s because subconsciously, your brain has associations with this vision that are fearful or painful. While you might not know it consciously, if you’re not taking the necessary steps to build your dream, it’s because your subconscious mind is fearful or unfamiliar with that dream. So its safety mechanism is kicking in and trying to protect you from what it’s afraid of.
This is why hypnosis is so powerful: it immediately and entirely removes any hesitation, doubt, or fear that has ever stopped you from reaching your goals. And it’s so immediate that with just one session, you become a new person, the one that is capable of building your dream life.
3. Things never seem to go your way
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't you're right” – Henry Ford.
There is one shocking but irrefutable fact about the subconscious mind which I must give you:
Every belief you hold cannot be simply what is true, and every belief must be about what serves you.
There’s a severely under-utilised part of the brain in every person called the Reticular Activation System. This is the part of the brain responsible for that effect where you buy a red Suzuki, and then all you see on the road for days is countless red Suzukis, which you never noticed before.
This is our confirmation bias: whatever your subconscious mind holds to be true and focuses on, you will see more of it and confirm that belief even more.
So, if you truly believe you are a lucky person, you will get evidence that confirms that. You won’t necessarily get more of that evidence, but that is the only evidence you will see. And likewise, if you truly believe you are an unlucky person, you will get evidence that confirms that. You have the same odds as anyone else in life, but your reticular activation system will only let you see the evidence of your beliefs, which the subconscious mind holds to be true.
Rewire the mind and implant new positive beliefs. Immediately, you have become the type of person who will get those results.
4. You question if your dreams are unrealistic
The curse of many high-achievers: the more successful you become, the more success you realise is possible, but is it for you?
As you have your first business success, as you get the dream body you want, as you make your first $100,000, old limits become clearly flawed, and you get more and more examples of people around you living in wild success.
But have you ever felt intimidated or out of place amongst these people? Do you see a higher level of success and immediately get uncomfortable?
Everyone encourages you to hang out with those who you want to be like, but very few talk about the hidden dangers associated with this.
As we grow from ages zero to eight, our brains are in a brainwave state called theta. This is the state in which our beliefs get programmed.
And those beliefs, depending on how you were raised, may be very limiting or very enabling.
But there comes a point in life where you may reach the limit of your beliefs and looking higher up scares you.
For example, I’ve worked with many people who always seem to build success and then fall right into the lowest of lows. This type of person works their ass off, achieves a lot, reaches a certain level of success, and then just seems to implode.
It’s always the same level of success, and it’s always very easy for them to build back to that point but never go beyond it.
Here’s why.
Your subconscious mind is like a thermostat for every area of your life. But instead of hot or cold, it has good or bad.
When the thermostat is set at 20º then, if it gets too hot, it will self-correct and cool things back down. Likewise, it would heat up if it got too cold.
Your subconscious mindset beliefs about how good or how bad every area of your life should be, and if you cross the “set temperature,” your subconscious mind begins to act to cool things back down.
If you’re a self-sabotager, then whenever you get close to your set temperature of success in your life, the subconscious begins to self-correct and limit you.
Often, at the peak of your life, it’s where you’re seeing the best things, the most money you’ve ever had, and the dream partner you’ve always wanted.
But no matter how consciously great these things appear, some subconscious negative focus is kicking in. An old belief about yourself is telling you these things were never meant for “someone like you,” and without you even realising, your mental focus shifts to fear and not being comfortable/familiar with these things. So the subconscious mind begins to make you act in ways that strip them away and “save you from the success, which wasn’t right for you.”
You will never achieve a new level of success without the beliefs that support those dreams first.
5. You attract the wrong people into your life
Your wiring will always determine who you attract into your life. Who you find comfortable, who you vibe with, and who makes you feel at home are all determined by your subconscious mind.
The thing is, you may currently be wired to relate to losers. You might feel at home amongst a crowd of people who are going nowhere. Or, to a less extreme extent, you feel out of your element or not good enough to be friends with the kind of people that you want to.
The way you view yourself will always dictate the way you let yourself act. Thinking of yourself as low value and unworthy of better friends will make you settle.
There’s never a valid reason to get anything other than exactly what you want. If you need better friends or a more successful circle to become part of, then you can find it! As long as you get the old beliefs in your head out of your way.
The thing about achieving a new level of success is that it requires you to become someone you’ve never been before. And because our brains are rigged to focus on survival, our brain views anything unfamiliar as a threat.
So, to become a success that we’ve never been before, we must first become comfortable with this level of success. We must first become this person in our minds before we can become this person in reality. And that is exactly what hypnosis will do for you in seconds.
