Our births have brought us into a world where the landscape is an eternal journey of evolution. We grow up learning from our surroundings, and one day we wonder how to be and feel better and perform while keeping up with the flow. The reality might not dawn on us until we come face to face with the mirror and realise that it might be time for Us to evolve. Why didn't we think about that before? Because we have become accustomed to an environment punctuating our life and not us punctuating our environment.
In fact, to live in a world made of perpetual changes, it is essential to adapt and contribute to it. This is when our fears rise.
Factually, being an entrepreneur is a human challenge, quite simply because it obliges us to decide our own future and to enter various unknown universes and opportunities. Sometimes, we can feel exposed to the idea of meeting new partners, creating or updating our strategy, including a new project, finding ourselves in new spheres, etc.
The confrontation with change is something that we all apprehend on sometimes distinct levels and to different degrees. The questions we ask ourselves inwardly then burst out and come to us in an incessant flow. The truth is that we all feel overwhelmed and stressed one day.
Here are several points to observe in order to feel definitively liberated.
1. Start by cultivating your enthusiasm. Give all the best you have all the time. This is crucial for building a positive image over the long term. Undoubtedly, there is always a feeling of achievement or a real state of fulfilment, which you want your partners, peers, and clients to know about. Somehow, that will earn you more value, and they will trust you more because they will now see you as a hardworking and persevering person, and of course, someone they can count on. So, demonstrating enthusiasm is an essential foundation for high self-esteem, creating your own virtuous circle (foresight – good decisions – great opportunities – personal fulfillment), and better control of your destiny.
2. Being authentic. The two keys are to be understanding towards oneself and be true. Authentic people display a consistent set of values and do not change their behaviour or speech from one situation or one person to another. You will probably feel vulnerable at first, but never forget that you are a resourceful, insightful and solution-oriented person. Therefore, even if it takes you a little time, at the finish line, you will be a winner.
3. Take your time. Focus on one thing at a time. You are constantly discovering new tools and learning new ways of doing things all the time, which you may keep in the long run. It takes time to explore. Being an entrepreneur is both wonderful and engaging, and I'm sure the world's greatest success stories will agree with it. They would also tell you that sometimes you have the right to take your time to understand, assimilate and finally integrate.
It is therefore important that you become an observer of your thoughts, feelings and reactions. Another vital tip that will help you is to observe your breathing.
You have just started something new; go deeper and find a rhythm that suits you to, as you go, show even more efficiency.
4. Being proactive. Managing your time is a powerful way for you to move forward serenely. Organising your weeks, your office and your agenda are basics to anticipate. Even better, if an unexpected event occurs, you will be able to quickly manage it since everything else will have already been thought out, prepared and planned. Also, focus on what you can control.
Two methods are perfect to help you in this situation: segmentation to the millimeter of your missions, tasks, projects, and quick wins.
Keep in mind that renewing yourself, getting out of your stagnation zone to discover new horizons, building, consolidating, and therefore achieving what you always wanted are ways to bring out your optimistic and adventurous side. This is what drives us to innovate, to test. But the most important thing is that it leads us to assume periods of stress by being confident and by not doubting the positive purpose of the ordeal we have been through.
