Many people have been talking about the divine feminine and feminine energy...but what the heck is that? Let me explain to you in this article.

Let me preface by saying that being feminine has a variety of ways it can express itself and it doesn’t only have to mean our traditional view of a feminine woman. In reality, the core of feminine energy is living from a body-based energy filled with infinite power, pleasure and wisdom. It’s the energy that connects women to their intuition, their superpower.

Feminine energy is what breathes air into life, what makes life ooze with excitement and truly allows you to surrender and embrace the present moment. Every single person carries feminine energy inside, all to different degrees. However, if you are a woman, you’ll typically carry more feminine and if you’re a man, you’ll typically carry more masculine energy.

What are the types of feminine energy? There is both light and dark. The light side has historically accepted qualities, and the dark side, historically suppressed qualities.

Light feminine energy looks like

  • Patience

  • Elegance

  • Forgiveness

  • Nurturing

  • Innocence

  • Peace

Dark feminine energy looks like

  • Authenticity

  • Passionate

  • Braveness

  • Fearless

  • Confident

  • Raw & Wild

In order to embrace your true authentic power, it’s necessary to own both aspects, especially the dark aspect which tends to be ignored. As a woman, you become magnetic when you embody both, and that is where your true power lies. Balancing the nurturing and loving essence of feminine energy with the bold and fierceness behind a woman in her true queendom.

So…what are three ways in which you can increase your feminine energy?

1. Take it slow: Feminine energy is all about slowness and creating space. The feminine in itself is about allowing and receiving. The slower you go, the more conscious you become of your surroundings and the more space you’re creating for everything to be, as is. Going slow will allow you to regulate your nervous system from years and decades of stress to tuning into your power.

2. Indulge in pleasure: When was the last time you truly savored a meal? The last time you treated yourself to a massage? Indulge in something that enhances your levels of pleasure. Whether that be a hot bath, a beautifully cooked meal, a massage, a walk down your favorite park. Think of your senses. These all bring you back to the present moment and into your body – the home of the feminine.

3. Set boundaries to support you: The feminine thrives on structure and feeling safe. Get clear on what you need to feel safe and supported and set boundaries to best help support that. Is there a friend who always criticizes that you need space from? Does your boss micromanage you? Some boundaries may be easier to make than others, but take actionable steps to best support you to thrive in your feminine!

Returning to your feminine feels like an eternal “exhale” of safety and is extremely beneficial regardless of your gender. Returning to your feminine is returning to your worthiness of simply being and allowing yourself to feel the unconditional love that you are. You are perfect simply for being you.
