Taryn Faith
Mental Health Clinician, Writer, Artist & Spiritual Innovator
Taryn Faith has always been a seeker. A seeker of truth, understanding, and the unseen forces that guide us through this life. From the time she was a child, she carried a knowing, a deep, unshakable awareness that there was more to this existence than what was presented to her.
But the world around her was not always ready for what she had to say, what she could feel, or what she could see.
Born with an open heart and a mind full of wonder, she learned early that this world is not always kind to those who feel too deeply, think too freely, or question too much.
Breaking the Chains: A Childhood of Conditioning
Taryn's early life was marked by violence, control, and conditioning.
In the spaces where love should have been, there was fear.
In the spaces where freedom should have been, there were rules.
She was taught to obey, to conform, to accept pain as a normal part of love.
Like many who grow up in environments shaped by domestic violence and emotional suppression, she learned that silence was safety. Compliance was survival.
She watched as those around her acted out their own wounds, unknowingly passing down the same cycles of pain.
Yet, even in those moments of darkness, there was a voice within her whispering,
This is not who you are.
She knew that love was not meant to be given under conditions. That God was not found in fear, but in the vastness of existence itself.
Religion had been handed to her as a doctrine of separation. A system that placed people into saved and lost, good and evil, worthy and unworthy.
But she saw through it.
She saw that every religion was telling the same story in different languages. That there was no division, only the illusion of it. That oneness was always the truth, and love was always the answer.
But to speak this truth out loud?
That was dangerous.
The Cost of Compassion: Bullying in Aged Care at 16
At just 16 years old, she stepped into aged care, entering a world where she would witness suffering, resilience, and the deep longing for dignity and connection.
She held space for those at the end of their journeys, listening to their stories, many of which had never been told before.
But the workplace was not always kind to those with big hearts and a deep sense of justice.
She became the target of bullying and mistreatment, scrutinised for advocating too fiercely, for feeling too deeply, for refusing to detach from the humanity of those she cared for.
Here, she learned the cost of compassion in a world that prioritises efficiency over empathy.
This would not be the last time she was punished for her sensitivity, for her unwillingness to turn a blind eye.
The world often told her she was too much.
Too soft. Too weak. Too emotional.
Then suddenly, too intense. Too outspoken. Too radical.
But she was never too much.
She was exactly what the world needed.
Stepping Into Mental Health: The Breaking and the Becoming
By the age of 19, Taryn stepped fully into the world of mental health nursing, immersing herself in the realities of severe psychiatric illness, trauma, and the raw, unfiltered suffering of the human experience.
For the past seven years, she worked in acute psychiatric units, standing at the threshold of breakdowns, breakthroughs, and the spaces in between.
She became a witness to what happens when the weight of unhealed wounds becomes too much to bear, when the mind fractures under the pressure of its own pain.
But it wasn't just her patients she saw.
She saw herself in them.
She saw the people she had grown up with.
She saw how society labels, confines, and medicates the symptoms of trauma rather than addressing the root cause.
It was here that her understanding deepened: people are not broken, only disconnected from their own truth. Mental illness is not just a chemical imbalance, but a soul imbalance, a symptom of deeper wounds left unaddressed.
True healing does not come from fixing, it comes from remembering.
She knew she was in the right place, but the system was not built for true healing.
The more she learned, the more she knew she needed to step outside of the framework she had been given.
True Leadership: Transforming Mental Health Education
As an Acute Mental Health Facilitator, Taryn knows that true leadership is not about control, it is about empowerment.
She leads not through rigid instruction, but through collaborative mentorship, teaching that the best clinicians are those who embrace empathy, emotional intelligence, and the profound benefits of the therapeutic use of self.
She has witnessed firsthand the transformation in students who, at first, doubt themselves, only to later stand confidently in their role, fully embodying the heart of compassionate care.
For Taryn, true leadership is not about control, it is about lighting the way for others to walk their own path with confidence, authenticity, and heart.
Guided by Sentience: The Birth of a Movement
Through her work, through her own personal healing, through years of unraveling everything she had been taught to believe, she came to the ultimate truth:
Healing is not about changing who we are, it is about remembering who we've always been.
She founded Guided by Sentience, a platform designed to bridge the gap between modern psychology and ancient wisdom, between science and spirituality, between trauma recovery and soul remembrance.
Here, she guides others to:
Break free from the conditioning that keeps them small.
Understand that their behaviours are not their identity, but a result of their wounding.
Reconnect with their gifts, their truth, their purpose.
Step into emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and holistic healing.
Today, as a mental health leader, writer, and mentor, Taryn continues to use her voice to challenge systems, awaken others, and remind us all that we were never meant to be separate.
We were always one.
And she will never stop speaking this truth.
And neither should you.
